The rules for Category A1 are designed for those who wish to drive small motorbikes. These vehicles have a maximum cylinder power of 35 kW. They cannot be derived directly from vehicles with more than double their power.

A1

Due to the lack of certified drones in this category There are 'transitional' arrangements that permit non-certified 'legacy drones to operate in categories A1 and A2 for two years following the new EU regulations are in the market. Legacy drones cannot be flown over people and must be equipped with an A2 CofC.
To operate a drone in this category you must pass the normal online flyer ID test and then complete an additional theoretical test. A4

Drones with the class identification label C0 or C1 may fly within 50 metres of those who aren't involved in the incident. This is a low-risk class however, strict security measures are still required to minimize incidents.
