Meav Blackthorn I got a costume (mind you it was second hand) from Miccostumes that actually fit pretty well and looks great! Both the costumes in this image are from there (with major modifications just because we wanted to). They also offer some outfits in plus and in custom sizes. This is the year of dream cosplays apparently. In case you couldn't tell from the end of the video, I'm in love with this cosplay.
For a long time, I thought I couldn't cosplay Asami because I wasn't thin or pretty enough. Hell, I even considered not buying her cosplay last year because there was almost no one who would make her costume in my size.
But I thought screw it, life's too short to let what other people think stop you from having fun. This is one of my favorite cosplays of all time, I feel so confident and I can't believe I put this off for so long.
Anyways...2021, cosplay whoeever the heck you want. And then send me pictures because I wanna see some plus size lovelies having dress up fun.

ahhh I was looking through a plus size cosplay-related tag (because I’m a plus size soon-to-be cosplayer) and someone posted some serious body negativity without tagging for anything negative.. and now I feel ugly and awful because like. I’m way shorter than they are and almost as heavy.. and they think they look “blubbery” and “cow-like”.. ugh. like I understand they were venting but they could’ve tagged for negativity!! or something!! 😔
They shouldn’t have been in those tags. Posts need to be properly tagged for this exact reason. I’m really sorry that happened. The only reason they think those things about themself is internalized fatphobia, I promise. So you don’t have to think those things about yourself too. You and your body deserve kindness. I hope this didn’t convince you not to cosplay. We need more plus size cosplayers!!!!! I’d love to see pictures of your cosplay once you’re done! And to hopefully help you feel better, I’m reblogging a bunch of pictures of fat cosplayers today. Maybe they’ll help keep you motivated and inspired!
We got our custom made moon knight suit today! We used to be so shy about how our body looked, but now we don't really care what people think and aren't afraid to wear form fitting costumes. I hope this helps other plus sized people who want to cosplay characters that wear form fitting clothing but are afraid of any backlash see that anyone can pull off any character they want no matter the body type :)
So, I made this in about 55 hours, everything but the gloves were made by me. I've always wanted to cosplay Zelda (I've only cosplayed Link), so I chose her Wind Waker appearance first. I just wasn't wanting to make all of the armor yet, as I'm pretty new to foam work. (Next I'd love to make Ocarina of Time Zelda).
I rarely make dresses lol so this was fun. I didn't use a pattern at all, just did draping on myself and went from there. Hope to get good pics soon, it's just cold and snowy right now.
(also bathtub selfies bc this is the only full mirror in my house 😂😂)

Not me crying bc I finally did another dream cosplay. I love Asami and have wanted to cosplay her for years now. I bought her full cosplay but really loved how I looked on this dress. I plan on getting pictures in her actual outfit sometime with my sister but for now, this is what we get.
