Random cosplay confession. I don’t feel as much pressure here on Tumblr to have follows or to cosplay a certain thing. It’s something I like. And I can blog a little more and update people on my progress.
I love seeing black cosplayers who are just so comfortable with themselfs and their skin to just go out and cosplay some pretty awesome stuff... Kinda gives mr hope ya'know.

I'm having a hard time deciding if I should start cosplaying or not because of these certain circumstances that stands in my way. Every time I see a cosplayer cosplaying the one I want to cosplay and is doing a damn good job cosplaying, my self-esteem drops by half. I always think that if I cosplay that certain character, people would laugh at me and compare me to those pro-cosplayers. T~T

Confession: When I was 14 I cosplayed for the first time at a local convention, some group of assholes asked me why I was dressed up like Kagome because everyone knew that Kagome was Japanese not black. Gaster? Haha no, honestly, you can cosplay whatever character you want. You don’t have to look like them at all physically. Let yourself be free. You’re the only one stopping you from cosplaying the characters you want. I think you deserve that freedom.
I hate group cosplaying now. I dont know if it's me or the people I decide to group cosplay with, but I'm through. Miscommunication, flakey people, not financing well for cosplays, etc. I'm really upset that these people have ruined group cosplay for me because when I did it when I FIRST cosplayed, it was simple. I had fun. Now it's like "we HAVE to match, we have to make it, or we have to do something to stand out". Why can't we just cosplay normally now? I wont do anything past duos now :(

I'm scared of people laughing at me for annie cosplay, my family is poor, we barely have money for food, and he fact that my mother is giving me money to cosplay means so much to me. my friend's friends make snarky jabs at my cosplay last time, because my cosplay wasn't as good as their's was. If I could get a better cosplay, i would. It just makes me so mad,because my mom gives up a lot of money that we could be using for something else, all for it to get laughed at.
I understand. I never really had money growing up either (my mother was disabled and it was just her raising two of us) -- most of my first cosplays were just me tailoring clothes I already had. I actually got some really good advice the other day I’d like to share with you. Basically, you can’t compare yourself to other people, because you’re not them. You have different experiences and lives: You’re in your own lane. If what you have is the best you got flaunt it like you’re wearing nothing but diamonds.They can eat their hearts out. If those losers need to laugh at someone it’s because they’re insecure about something and scapegoating you to feel better (I’m not just saying that, it’s psychology, let those buzzards eat each other to death).. What I’m trying to say if fuck those guys. They can laugh all they want, they have nothing to do with you. You and your cosplay is all you got so you might as well love it. If you love cosplaying there is no one and no amount of shitbags mocking you that’s worth getting in the way of that love. Enjoy yourself in spite of those people and honestly I’d put my distance between you. You’re too good to have time for that nonsense. And if your mutual friends with these assholes were real friends they would shut them down. I think you should probably back off from those people and go have fun with your cosplay even on your own if you have to. There is nothing wrong with your situation or your cosplay -- the problem is these assholes your surrounded by. Much love my friend

This blog has been inactive for quite a while. I honestly have little interest in running it as a cosplay confession blog, however, figured I could turn it into a convention PSA, horror storries, etc. blog.
I have a desire when I cosplay to ware undergarments that match how the character looks or what I imagine they would ware. Like I cosplay madotsuki for yume Nikki and I want to buy a pink bra 'n parties and then sew on her shirt pattern on them.
If someone ever came to me with an offer saying that they would help me by investing in all of my cosplay needs for free; all I have to do is work hard, stay in character, model off that costume for photographers, and most of all have fun. Heck yeah, I'd take that offer! Some cosplayers are really lucky, and then sometimes their parents just buy them everything. Cosplay is expensive!

Gotta be Honest... when it comes to Umineko/Beato cosplay..
I just want to start this off by saying that I in no way mean any offense to anyone. This is all about personal preference, and honestly if you want Beato advice from me, reading this would probably be worth it.
I have a few people who know Umineko and they send me pictures of cosplays and art and stuff they think I'll like.. But then I got into this debate about Beato Cosplay. And truth be told, I'm very picky when it comes to Beato cosplay. I had to try and explain this..
I don't really like "pretty" Beatrice cosplays. In which the cosplayer just sits there and looks pretty. For example, Kasane. Honest to God no Jelly here, but her Beatrice leaves something to be desired. The composition of her Umineko photos are lovely, and she made a fantastic Clair, but her Beato falls short in my personal opinion because she just doesn't put anything into the character. She's majestic and beautiful and they're fun to look at, but I don't really see Beato when I look at her.
Which is why traumaticcandy and green-makakas are my top 2 favorite Beatos. Because they aren't afraid to go into full hag mode and get really animated.
I guess that's why this is important? The best advice I can give to any Beato cosplayer is for the love of God, don't just sit there and look pretty. That actually goes for a lot of eccentric anime characters that get cosplayed.
I don't want to be a Jack Frost cosplayer...I want to be that Jack Frost cosplayer. I hope one day that I reach that level of recognition where people say; "Are you talking about that Jack Frost? Oh yeah! I seen that person's work!"
