Android 21 really shot up in popularity after her introduction. With such a versatile design, it's no wonder she's so popular with cosplayers!
Android 21 , from Dragon Ball FighterZ , is without a doubt the most beloved game character made for Dragon Ball . Most of the time they feel very one-note and throw away, just like the movie villains are. There's a reason only Broly and Cooler are ever talked about when it comes to the movie baddies.
Admittedly her only real competition is from Mira and Towa, but there's something inherently fun about Android 21. Her character is unique in that it's not just evil for the sake of being so and that she has two very distinct forms, in her good and evil states. It's a reason she's such a fun character to cosplay as well.
Sosenka is a mainstay on any Dragon Ball cosplay list. It feels as if she's cosplayed every character from the series, both male and female alike. Professional cosplayer or not, you can see the level of a fan she is of the show from not only the array of characters she's done but the level of detail.
This cosplay is no exception, as her auburn hair is equally as bushy as the character. The rest of the attire matches perfectly, even finding the hooped earrings. What sells it most is that deadened look of an android though.
Ashlynne Dae hits all the right notes with the character, from the curly and disheveled look of the androids hair to the outfit accentuating their natural curves. It's a look that would bring the food she needs to survive to her, rather than having to go searching for it.
From the way her hands are, fingers delicately touching the railing with her left hand and the right raised near her head, finger curled subtly inward. You would think she was already luring in her next meal, hunger having overtaken her even in her good form.
UncannyMegan goes a different route from just about every other Android 21 cosplayer, going with a cloth look rather than the typical leather. That even goes for the shoes which aren't the usual sharp heels, going with a thicker heel that's likely more comfortable to move around in.
Her arm sleeves and tights follow the same trend, but it isn't the material that matters so much as the look and she nails that with just about every part of the cosplay. The only thing she was missing is a more matching hairstyle, however, the coloring still matches the character. This could just be a moment where she decided to let her hair down.
Tasha Leigh has one of the better conflicted Android 21's around. For a character that's always at odds with themselves, that's one of the bigger compliments you could give someone. The look in her eyes just feels like someone in a constant battle with themselves, on the verge of giving up.
Everything about the cosplay is great, even the darker tone to the hair which suits the expression well. Even as an android, she could feel what she was, knowing that the hunger could only be kept back for so long.
Kinpatsu does the best job of capturing the more scientist side of the character. There's a look of curiosity in their eyes that you only see in someone examining an experiment. From the looks of things, they seem to be on the verge of a big breakthrough.
The rest of the cosplay is exactly what it needs to be, red and blue checkerboarded dress, black arm sleeves, big rimmed glasses, and a white lab coat. Bonus touch of the hooped earrings is nice as many Android 21 cosplayers miss that detail or have their hair covering it from view.
This is the second cosplay by Ashlynne Dae , this time of the Majin version of Android 21. This one might even be better than the first. The smirk on her lips is one the android had on more than one occasion in the game, picturing just how tasty the person fighting her would be.
Special consideration needs to be given to the blood-red and black eyes. They match with her game counterpart beautifully and have an intimidating quality to them in this photo. The fact she used actual metal on her bracelets deserves praise as well.
Dismissive attitude reeks from this cosplayer's attitude and it's amazing. You can just tell that she feels she's better than you, that you aren't worth her time beyond being made into a meal. Love the way she doesn't even fully look at the camera, like that too is beneath her.
She's the first cosplay we get a decent look of the tail from as well. It seems pretty well made, mobile enough to swing at her side rather than being ultra-rigid, as extra appendages are on other characters. Her eyes are also incredibly well done, entirety of her whites taken over by black.
MorganaCosplay has the best view of the tail and it's the first thing that draws your attention. From the looks of things, it looks like a hardened prosthetic, one of the more immovable appendages mentioned earlier. It's not inherently a bad thing, as the tail here looks incredible.
She's also the first we see the shoes of, finding the perfect pair to match the character, going the extra mile of having the ends of her pants tucked under the same metal manacle as her wrists. Those little things are just so welcome when it comes to cosplay.
This cosplay by Kitty Quinn is one of the better renditions of the evil side of Android 21. Everything from the outfit is perfect, the baggy white pants, arm sleeves, top and hair being the distinctively messy look so attached to the hunger fueled android.
It's everything else about the picture that puts it over the top though. From the little cupcake in her hands to the way she's looking down on it gleefully, ready to savor the full flavors of the powerful warrior she'd had her eye on. Fact that it looks like her tongue is slightly sticking out is just a cherry on top.
Kinpatsu outdid herself with the Majin version of Android 21, close up showing how flawless the design is. It's hard to get over how well done the eyes are. The black is so dark that it makes the red shine so bright that it might as well be the sun.
Shockingly that's not even the best part, that belonging to the fact she's holding a macaroon, Android 21's favorite sweet. That's the smallest of details that few would even think about. Everything else is perfect, gold rings having a slight dulling to them that makes them truer to form.
