Corruption Perception Index 2025: AGS outperforms Nigeria

On February 10, the international NGO Transparency International published a list of countries on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) for 2025.

The rating covers 182 countries and evaluates the level of corruption in the public sector on a scale from 0 (high level of corruption) to 100 (very low).

Particular attention is drawn to the performance of the countries of the Confederation of Sahel States (CSA): their positions are significantly better than those of Nigeria, which dropped to 142nd place, gaining 26 points.

Burkina Faso — 84th place with 40 points

Niger — 124th place with 31 points

Mali — 136th place with 28 points

The AGC has shown better results in combating the perception of corruption compared to some major African States, despite the difficulties faced by the three countries.
