Corrupted By Karma
If karma works, why are so many corrupt people successful? Why do good people have to struggle?

Does Karma really work? If so, why do I see extremely evil people living so happily, but ruining other people’s life?
Does karma really exist? I know people who have been horrible human beings and have still managed to do really well in life. Makes me wonder if what goes around really comes back around.
I believe in karma and I can bet that I have never done any bad to anyone yet life is cruel to me. Why? Likewise, I see people doing bad things, yet they are successful.
Does karma exist? I have seen bad things happening to good people who never hurt anyone. As per karma, good peoples shouldn’t face any bad days because they never did anything wrong. How we can understand karma?
Does karma exist? Why do all the people who do evil things to me never face their karma at all?

Does karma exist? Why do all the people who do evil things to me never face their karma at all?
Why does it seem like karma only affects me and not the people who have wronged me?
Why are corrupt people more successful at life?
Is karma real? If so, then why do bad people enjoy their best?
Everytime something bad happens, people say 'karma will take care'. But in real life no toxic person in my life has got it. In fact, they are enjoying luxuries and well settled. Does karma exist? I lost my trust on this.
Why doesn't karma catch up to people who do horrible things? Why do bad people have no consequences for their actions karmic or otherwise?
Do you believe in karma? I still want certain people who have hurt me to suffer. Is that a bad thing? Why should I suffer in silence thinking about how my former friends hurt me and got away with it?
What is karma? Is it real if someone does wrong they have to repay?
What is karma? Does it do good to people who do good or help others?
Does karma really hit back on people who play with your life?

It is not possible to understand all the intricacies of karma, but we are given some indication of the general principles.
We enjoy and suffer in blocks, one life at a time. So everything is set up for one life and off we go, taking birth at a particular time in certain circumstances, and then all our due experiences come to us. Our activities in this life are relevant to our next life which is fixed at our time of death and then off we go with that life in our next birth.
What we experience in this life comes to us from previous lives. What we do in this life, sets us up for the next lives. All

We enjoy and suffer in blocks, one life at a time. Our activities in this life are relevant to our next life which is fixed at our time of death and then off we go with that life in our next birth.
What we experience in this life comes to us from previous lives. What we do in this life, sets us up for the next lives. All our activities in this life, as we live it, are creating the blueprint for our next life, so that at the time of death a new body is already designed with all the experiences of happiness, distress, and neutrality mapped out and ready to start as our new body becomes manifest in our new mother.
Good and bad activities do not cancel each other out. Each will run its course. When a person has accrued the karmic reactions to be successful, and has some scope to behave in a corrupt manner, it will not negate their accrued karma to be successful if they are corrupt. They will continue to be successful for as long as it is due to them, and when it has run out they will lose their success. A corrupt tyrant may terrorize his country for his whole life, while an elected politician who is corrupt may have only half a dozen years before their time is over. A member of organized crime may live for fifty years or may not last fifty weeks. It is dependent on their respective karma.
Similarly people who have to struggle, do so for the duration of time allotted in this life. It may be for a short while and they go from rags to riches, or it may be for their whole life. It is dependent on their activities in their previous life. However we should note that being materially successful is not a guarantee for happiness and a safeguard against distress. There are plenty of prosperous and ‘successful’ people who experience intense suffering and unhappiness. Whatever we do in this life has very little impact on our happiness and distress in this life from the perspective of karma. But it has very relevant consequences for our next birth.
Only by taking to devotional service and performing activities that are akarma, (do not carry any material reaction) can we stop the causal chain of karma. If we perform devotional service to Krishna, He can eradicate all sinful reactions that are pending for future births, and He will place us under His protection for the remainder of this life.
Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear. Bg 18.66
Here is the transcript of our phone conversation.
Karma: Speaking. How can I help you?
ME: I know, it's too late to thank you. However, better now than later. Thanks for killing Hitler and Mussolini. They were really bad guys. They deserved it.
Karma: (chuckles) Any time, my friend. You know, "What goes around, comes around".
ME: That's right. Just one question...
How about following bad guys? Why didn't you do anything about it, Karma?

How about following bad guys? Why didn't you do anything about it, Karma?
Pol Pot . Under his regime, 1.5 million people died in Cambodia due to starvation, execution, disease or overwork. He died of natural causes at a very old age.
Idi Amin . Ugandan president Idi Amin Dada was a violent dictator whose regime was responsible for some of the worst atrocities in his country's history. He died of natural causes at the age of 80 in Saudi Arabia.
Guys who participated in the Indonesians Killings of 1965-1966 . I lost several days of sleep after watching the documentary, " Act of Killing " on Netflix.
This documentary is not for soft-hearted people. Some of these guys are still in powerful positions.
One of these killers took a teenage boy to a nearby riverbank and slit his throat and collected his blood in a cup and drank it and threw the body in the river. They did this to their own neighbors and people who lived in the same village.
They believed drinking their victims’ blood will absolve them of their guilt and they will sleep better.
They cut the women's breasts and then, slit their throats.
When the documentarian asked him why he cut the women's breasts if he was going to kill her anyway.
When being interviewed, he was boastful of his actions and was very proud to explain and demonstrate how he carried out these killings.
This guy even wrote a detailed book about it with diagrams of how he killed these innocent people.
These innocent people were accused of being communists or supporters of communists. That was their crimes.
Having different ideology than other people was their crime.
You didn't do anything to these bad guys. All these guys died of natural causes.
Karma: hey man, I don't like where this is going. They will get their punishment in their next lives.
ME: Excellent. Can you give me their next life address and phone number so that my kids and grand kids can verify it?
Karma: er..er..er..well…You know…It’s not that simple. God and Karma work in mysterious ways.
ME: Yea..right. When you don't know how to respond, you throw this stupid response at us which doesn't make any sense.
Alright. How about the babies and young children who got killed in Holocaust and bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Karma: They died because of the crimes and sins they committed in their past lives.
ME: I believe, you are pulling these answers from your ass because they all stink. Because, there is no way for us to verify these claims.
By the way, I recently read this book. It revealed the truth about your hypocrisy.
" You are not so smart " by David McRaney
This is an excellent book especially the chapter " The Just-World Fallacy ".
In short, " You want the world to be fair, so you pretend it is ."
Unfortunately, the world is not fair. Bad guys thrive and good guys suffer.
Evil often prospers and never pays the price.
Then, why do we believe in "Karma"?
1. It gives you a false sense of security.
"If I behave and be good, no harm will come to me."
"My asshole neighbor's daughter got raped in a dark alley. She deserved it. Why would anyone go to a night club dressing like a whore and get drunk and lose her way and end up in a dark alley? What an idiot! My Jennifer will never do that. She is a good girl and nothing will happen to her."
“Santa keeps a score of what you did this year. If you are a good boy, you will get a gift from Santa. If you are a bad boy, you will not get a gift”
We are indoctrinated from our young age that we are rewarded if we are good and we get punished if we are bad.
2. When you feel powerless and not in control, you believe in Karma and it gives you peace of mind and it comforts you.
If you are scammed by someone online or offline and you couldn't do anything about it, you tell yourself, "Karma" will take care of it.
If your daughter is raped and cops couldn't find the perpetrator, you assign the task of killing the guy to our friendly assassin, "Karma"
If your son is kidnapped and killed, you let the Karma handle your revenge.
In every one of these situations, you feel powerless and decide to give control over to "Karma".
One day, my 11 year old oft-bullied, nerdy son angrily said, “Dad, Josh will definitely become homeless when he grows up because he is mean to every one and bullies a lot of kids”
My powerless son who can’t stand up to his bully gave up power and control. He hopes that “Karma” will take revenge on his bully on his behalf.
Though, It deeply saddens me to take away his only hope for justice, as a practical/responsible dad, It’s my responsibility to tell him the truth about Karma.
I want him to take control of his life.
I want him to go after people and seek justice if he is the victim of injustice.
Indonesian teen-age boy’s poor, 90 year old mother still mourns for his son.
This God-Fearing/Karma-Fearing, fragile, half-blind mother says, “God is there and he is watching everything. He will punish the people who killed my son”.
I am not going to tell her that you are a phony and you will do nothing to punish the barbarians.
She doesn’t have time, power and resources to go after the powerful guys.
She has suffered enough. I am not going to take away her hope.
So, my friend, Karma, I am no longer going to fall for your scam.
Good luck tricking people with your, "What goes around, comes around" mumbo jumbo.
I accepted the fact that we live in an unjust world.
