National Aunt and Uncle Day is Tuesday, July 26th and like some of you, I had no idea there was even a day to recognize those extended family members. Isn’t Wife Appreciation Day, like, every day? With 75 million Baby Boomers, and 10,000 of them coming on to SS and Medicare every single day, within 2 years the government projects that 96 cents of every tax dollar will go to those two programs alone. As early as June 1956 the idea of overthrowing the South Vietnamese government was presented at a politburo meeting. A CIA report from 1964 stated the factionalism in South Vietnam had reached "almost the point of anarchy" as various South Vietnamese leaders fought one another, making any sort of effort against the Viet Cong impossible, which was rapidly taking over much of the South Vietnamese countryside. There was a deep distrust and fear of China within the North Vietnamese Politburo, and the suggestion that Chinese troops, even support troops, be allowed into North Vietnam, caused outrage in the Politburo.| Now that I have a son I guess I will need to celebrate Children’s day or Family day, just another reason to spoil him. The origin of Children’s Day began in 1856 when Reverend Dr. Charles Leonard from Massachusetts held a service dedicated on the second Sunday in June. The province of British Columbia though celebrate this day a week earlier on the second Monday of February. In February 2018, the BC government announced that Family Day would move to the third Monday in February from 2019 onward, aligning the holiday with other Canadian provinces. It is held on the third Monday in February for the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan. The third or last child can be seen as the baby of the family, as they were the last born. It is held annually on the third Saturday of April. Not only do children get Children’s Day but there is also National Son and Daughter Day. The United Nations recognized Universal Children’s Day as a day for children and is held on November 20. This day is observed by 26 countries including Ireland and the United Kingdom. https://whenisholiday.com/america/when-is-national-uncle-day-2017.html
