Continued slump, dream of 'early entry into ML' fading away

Early entry into the major leagues seems really remote. The beginning of the season for Go Woo-seok (25) is really difficult.

Go Woo-seok, who plays for the San Antonio Missions, the Double A team of the San Diego Padres, appeared in a game against the Corpus Christi Hooks (Houston Astros) held at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA on the 22nd, allowing 3 hits, 1 walk, and 2 runs in 1 inning. He performed poorly and recorded his second blown save of the season. Go Woo-seok's season performance is 6 games, 2 losses, 1 save, and an ERA of 6.75.

The club sent him down to Double A in an effort to regain his standing, but he is still struggling here and a dark cloud is looming over his future. Go Woo-seok signed a 2+1 year contract with San Diego last January for a maximum of $9.4 million, and he does not have a minor league veto this season.

Go Woo-seok went on the mound in the bottom of the 8th inning with the team leading 1-0. However, he was hit by a double from Ronaldo Espinosa and a bunt infield hit by Jeremy Arrocho, and was in danger of reaching first and third base with no outs. To make matters worse, Arrocho was even allowed to steal second base, leaving second and third base with no outs.

Go Woo-seok seemed to take a breather by catching the next batter, Quincy Hamilton, with a grounder to first base, but in the end, he allowed a two-run, timely hit to Kennedy Corona, allowing a comeback. Go Woo-seok, who continued to be shaken by stealing second base to Corona and giving up a walk to Miguel Palma, barely finished the inning after catching Colin Barber in a double play. As the team lost 1-2, Go Woo-seok made a blown save and even took on the role of a losing pitcher.

Go Woo-seok's records are not good, not only in general but also in detailed records. He has a hitting percentage of 0.343 and a WHIP (on base per inning allowed) of 1.63. However, seeing that he walked only 1 and struck out 10, it shows that it is only a problem with pitching and there is no problem with control. Still, since recovering his position is an urgent priority, he is expected to remain in Double A for the time being and focus on recovering his position.
