Gavin shows up to the DPD one Monday morning with bright pink nails, and no one knows why.
Angst, feelings, bad decisions, smut and eventual fluff ensue.
YN700 aka, Y/N is the new female Android Cyberlife sent to the DPD after The Android Revolution, specifically to solve a strange case involving body parts of both Humans and Androids alike.
Unfortunately for the YN700 model, she has to of course deal with another Android hater in the form of the DPD’s least favorite detective.
Amanda makes a final attempt in stopping the revolution. Connor solidifies not only
his new beliefs but his feelings. Hank helps.
Working with Connor has caused Hank to reevaluate his stance on deviants, and now he’s determined to stand by his partner and do the right thing, no matter the cost. Thankfully, luck is on his side.

“I was connected to his memory, when he fired I…I felt him die…” his voice was unsteady. “Like I was dying.” A shudder ran down Connor’s spine. He didn’t want to die. He really didn’t. He remembered when Hank had threatened him with his gun and had asked him if he was afraid to die, he had already felt a ghost of this fear but not like that, it hadn’t been close to that. Hank wasn’t shouting anymore; he was just staring at Connor who was looking for words. His lips were trembling and his voice broke at his next admission.
Connor feels Simon die and is hurled into deviancy
"You'll never see much around here," Hank said, when Connor mentioned wanting to stargaze. Light pollution had steadily increased over the previous decades, and even though Connor's eyesight was more sensitive than most humans', he couldn't make out much more than the brightest stars in the sky, most nights.
"It's all right," Connor started to say, but Hank shut him down before he could finish.
"No it's not," he said. "You want to see stars? I know where we can make it happen, if you're up for a trip."
Connor wants to see the stars. Staring into the great void of the universe turns out to be a pretty romantic time.
Connor is in a tricky spot. His controversial investigative journalist career has garnered him his share of death threats. Worried about liability, his publishers force him to get a bodyguard. Even though he wants nothing more than to be left alone, he reluctantly agrees, with the sole condition that whomever they hire doesn’t interfere with his life.
But when he finally comes face to face with his faceless bodyguard, things get even more dangerous.

A peaceful revolution ended, but for Hank and Connor this is only the beginning. Hank gets his partner back, although the deal comes with a strange price. Moreover, this post revolution era is not as peaceful as everyone hoped it would be. Cases line up but work is not the only thing on Hank’s mind nowadays. Connor, too, has his own problems: being alive forces him to deal with his new emotions, and while friendship and joy are easy to understand, desire, heartbreak and pain are less so.
Like little notes on a piece of sheet, some moments in their lives build up to be something far greater than they ever believed.
After extracting himself from one miscommunication, Connor wonders if he needs to clear up another.

Hank was not taking his early retirement well, the few detectives that got to see it rarely did. When Cole had been home it was fine, there were things to do then, but now that he was alone he was bored. Stir crazy fit better, but he didn't like that word. He began applying for jobs, just something to get him out of the house.
He was hired on at Arkait Medical Enterprises and didn't know just how many things were going to change after that. It wasn't called a midlife crisis for nothing after all.
"Why the fuck not? Let me just parade over there both of us covered in coffee. That will go over like a goddamned lead balloon."
The mountain man laughed again, "Yes, we ought to clean up first. Messy appearances are not really in my business."
Gavin snorted, loud and obnoxious, and said, "Yeah, I know, ya military brat."
Richard's eyes widened once again, and he started to beam, "Brat, huh?" He paused and cocked an eyebrow, "I like you. What should I call you Mr. Coffee Man?"
Gavin let out an undignified squeak, completely caught off guard by the man’s silky but rough tone. "This coffee man's name is Detective Gavin Reed."
"Ah, we're going with titles?" Richard's chest puffed out a little and he preened a bit as he announced, "I'm Lieutenant Colonel Richard N. Stern. A pleasure to meet you, Detective Reed."
