Absolutely beautiful and brought me back to the 2000s in the best way.

Lindsey was great, but for a 5 star needed more focus on her and bigger successes.

Thought this was a pretty decent flick. We watched it many time back in the day. The soundtrack was pretty catchy actually, you will never hear me admit that again. Lols

Once upon a time I had a daughter. Then one day she had opinions about everything. And suddenly she became dramatic. Because I like irony and sarcasm, I bought Drama Queen. My daughter felt that she was finally understood and we lived dramatically ever after. This movie is fun and funny, and just the right amount of Disney cheesiness mixed with the 'I'm not really sure why I like her' charm that Lindsey once had. (You know you still watch Parent Trap if it happens to come on.) If you like a little mindless laughter that you and your girl youngins can enjoy...then let the Confessions begin.

I have a tendency to like bad movies (My all-time favorite is To Wong Foo: Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar), and while this movie isn't great, I can't help but love it. Who has never wanted to reinvent themselves, right? What I'm not sure about is why this movie isn't offered on BluRay, but movies like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation are (I love this movie too, I'm just saying). Product is good for what it is, although I don't think a standard DVD is worth $11 (nothing to do with the movie itself, I know, but still worth mentioning).

great movie! love the actors and actresses

I thought that this was a relatively fun, fresh book, but there was some... shall I say bad things about it. Mary Cep, or as she stubbornly likes to be known as Lola, is a major drama queen. She is positive she will be the next big thing in Hollywood. Some time. When Lola's mother moves her and her two totally gross little sisters out of New York City and into the suburbs, Lola is sure she will be the savior to so many poor souls in Dellwood. Or as she calls it, Deadwood. Then she meets Carla Santini, the local bully and snob, and that whole part of the book's (the WHOLE book!) is pretty predictable. It's through Lola's obsessive love for her favorite band, Sidhartha, that Lola gets her and her best friend and "sister of my soul", Ella, alot of... adventure. I won't give away the rest. Parts of this book was really funny and it was hard not to laugh out loud, whether I was in public or not, but Lola's interpretation of every thing got boring. Finally when you get to the exciting part, it's Lola's friend, Ella, who is being more of the heroine. I felt that this book ended alot like it began. In "the Big Freeze". The book is worth reading, but still lacking in many ways. ~Atalanta

This isn't really my style if book. It was cliche and silly. Its a pretty basic story. I have trouble liking a book if I can't like the main character, and that's the way it was in this book.

The movie version of the book is pretty similar. I can't imagine anybody but Lindsay Lohan in the role as Lola Cep. Her real name is Mary Elizabeth and she was raised in New York City until her divorced mother decided to move her three girls to the suburbs in Dellwood, New Jersey. Lola calls it's Deadwood. In this novel, Lola keeps trying to re-establish herself. She's a drama queen with a rival named Carla Santini, a daughter of a wealthy couple. She befriends Ella Gerard and the two have an adventure of a lifetime in the city. Anyway, this book is ideal for middle and high school kids. It's told from Lola's point of view. Sometimes, you hate her and sometimes you can't help but love her zest for life. It's a fun novel.

I liked this book because I think that Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen is a charming polite book to read. Also, I think that this book is one of my favorite books because it is told from the perspective of a teenage girl just like me because I am, as most people say, a Teenage Drama Queen at heart. I think that this book quotes a very important message stating that it you shouldn't hide who you really are and that it is okay to be different from everyone else. I also thought that it would be a great book for young girls to read because it gives a lot of suggestions about High school or just about going to any new type of school and it also gives you many tips on what to do if you are struggling to fit in with the crowds. Lola (main character) shows teenagers how to be themselves and also how to reach for their dreams and goals in life. She is a true role model for young teenagers, she does not give up and she never stops trying. This book kept me at the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next in the book as it tells the story of Lola and her problems. What I also liked was that Dyan Sheldon (author) added some pop star singers and movie stars that are present today in life and added them into her book which made it even more interesting. For people who read like me (some what slow), this book moved quickly and was perfectly paced for me but even though there was a lot of pages to read I still got through it in a perfect amount of time. But even though this book might not be a hilarious, laugh out loud, peeing in your pants kind of a book, I still though that it was some what funny in some ways and that it is a great book for teenager girls to read. I thought that this book was a very creative, dramatic, adventurous novel that everyone should get a chance to read, even if they aren't a teenage girl who is in to preppy teenager girl books.

The thing about Lola Cep is O.K but with Carla.....Thats a BIG " NO,NO "I really hate her and thats just simple, Lola is a gothic girl who loves Sidhartha( Rock and Roll Band) and will do anything to get to see them play and when she heard there was a party after the concert was over she had to go with her trustworthy friend named Ella to the party that they were not to forget....I definitly recommend this book!!!

Mary Elizabeth Cep has known practically since birth that her name is far too ordinary for a girl of her nature. This is why she has renamed herself Lola Elspeth Cep (or Sep, she hasn't decided yet). However, her friends and family in The City, who have known her her whole life, fail to comply. So, when her mother announces that they are moving to Dellwood (aka Deadwood), New Jersey, Lola (after finally resigning herself to the news) sees it as a chance to reinvent herself, and the likes of Carla Santini, the most popular girl in school, can't stop her. Along the path of her reinvention she befriends Ella, her polar opposite on the wildness scale, and shows her that a little adventure now and then is perfectly acceptable. A classic new-girl tale is pumped up with drama and makes for an entertaining read.

Read this as a teenager. I couldn't relate much to Lola. Part of me did admire her sparkiness a bit but I also found her and her cronies a tad shallow. Plot was predictable
