Commitment To Work As Legionaries
BazemasterIt is alarming that some legionaries have lost the spirit of apostleship and workmanship in their various legionary works. Commitment to doing our Lady's works on earth will foster the spread of love and Jesus' ministries on earth. Legionaries from all walks of life must endeavour to carry out their weekly work with due diligence to foster many benefits and graces from almighty God.
Commitment is the act or an instance of committing, putting in charge, or keeping up with an activity. It can also mean being emotionally or intellectually bound to a course of action or another person. This simplifies the need to put in all efforts and mind to ensure that we legionaries carry out our duties assigned by our praesidia, etc. Every year we carry out an annual function - Acies, where we vocally proclaim that the Blessed Virgin Mary owns us and everything we have. If that is so, how can we be committed to doing our work as legionaries?
Benefits of Commitment to Legionary Works
- Commitment to legionary work will help in the growth of the legion system. Every legionary is mandated to recruit members to his or her praesidium as frequently as possible. Endeavouring to bring in new members every time will increase the faith of various people, reducing unbelievers in our midst and the growth of the Legion of Mary around the world.
- Doing our legionary work will make us good legionaries and good laity apostolates of the church.
- Overall, commitment will have a positive impact on the lives of people in society.
Helpful Ways of Becoming Committed to Legionary Works
- Personal Determination. This is the first willpower to undertake. Without a personal conviction that I must do that work for the Blessed Virgin Mary, there will be no effort made. Personal determination is the commitment to achieve your goals regardless of the challenges you might experience. People who express great determination continue to work to achieve their goals, regardless of other factors facing them at any point. We need to make up our minds that it is a must and important for us to start taking Legionary work seriously.
- Building a strong and active team. The essence of teamwork is to simplify things and make difficult tasks easily achievable. Following teams that are always doing their legionary work will automatically push you into doing your legionary work. This idea suggests that a lagging legionary should find a good partner and push themselves beyond their comfort zones in carrying out legionary work.
- Express your challenges freely in meetings. Talking and sharing problems hindering our legion works will get us help from members and advice that can help us solve these issues without feeling bad and avoid running from our basic legionary duties.
- Studying Saints, Disciples of Jesus, and Legionary Heroes as motivation. As devoted Christians and legionaries, we are encouraged to read about the history of the church and our patrons who made it possible for the word of God to reach everywhere in the world. Studying the lives of saints and legionaries [Edel Quinn, Alphonsus Lambe, etc.] will fuel our motivation and push us to thrive through the thick and thin of our legionary activity.
- Planning ahead. This is very important. Many times we forget to schedule our legionary work within our timetable or calendar. If you are lagging behind in your legionary duties, it is great that the plan to carry out our work should start making it to our calendars and schedules.
- Be prepared for unexpected circumstances and meetups. Always remain calm in unexpected and tense circumstances. Pray for grace and wisdom always. This will make you think and act very well.
- Praying for Grace, Reading the Bible, and Studying the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church. Things are worked for both in our thoughts and actions. It is by the grace of God that we have been redeemed by our Lord Jesus Christ. As legionaries under our mother and queen, the Blessed Virgin Mary, it is our duty to be in constant prayer and seek God's grace to be able to carry out our various legionary works. May the good Lord be our source of help and compassion in this difficult journey of life.
- The power of Atomic Habits. Do it constantly, and improve in the little ways that we can. Becoming consistent with our Legionary works and doing the little things necessary for them to come to fruition is a way to start. Commitment to legionary work starts little by little.
- Finally, use your life as an exemplary teaching. Having achieved carrying your legionary work without complaints, it is great to share your story. This will encourage legionaries to persist and strive harder to carry out their duties for the church. Personal exemplary teachings bring motivation for others, lessons, and encouragement. Keep up the work for our Queen and mother, BVM.
