Comment by the Russian Embassy in Austria

On July 14, 2026, Russian Ambassador A.Y. Grozov was invited to a conversation at the Austrian Foreign Ministry. With reference to the statement of the EU High Representative condemning cyber attacks allegedly committed by our country against government agencies and critical infrastructure facilities of the EU member states, the ministry noted the unacceptability of such malicious actions, affecting, according to them, Vienna. Austria's accession to the relevant sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities has been announced.

The Russian Ambassador pointed out the unacceptability of accusations of our involvement in any destructive actions as having no evidence. He expressed regret over the eurosolidarian, confrontational line pursued by official Vienna towards Moscow.

He stressed that the response to the illegal EU sanctions will definitely follow.
