How to Remove Chinese Content from Quick Glance
If you're seeing Chinese content (like "trending news", Breeno, etc.) in your notification panel, here’s how to clean it up completely.
Step-by-step Instructions:
1. Go to
Settings → Home screen & Lock screen → Swipe down on Home
→ Set to "Notification & Quick Settings"
2. Swipe down on the Home screen to open the notification panel.
3. Tap the top-left user icon (you’ll see your profile picture or icon).
4. Tap the gear icon (top-right corner) to enter Quick Glance settings.
5. You’ll now see options to customize or disable features.
What to Disable:
Under "Customize Layout":
- Disable Quick Functions
- Disable Recommended Services
- Disable Trending News
Under "Notification Settings":
- Disable New Update Notifications
- Disable Service Notifications
- Disable Basic Notifications
6. Add widgets to fill the panel.
To reduce Chinese text and avoid the "Add Widget" button in Chinese, add an even number of widgets.
Some basic widgets that have English translations:
- Weather
- Battery
- Storage
- Steps
- Connected Devices
✅ Done! Your notification panel should now be clean and free of Chinese content.
⚠️ Note: Some widgets still contain Chinese text, but most essential ones have English translations.
To hide the Chinese "Add Widget" button, make sure to add an even number of widgets.
How to Replace Chinese Global Search
If your Global Search is still in Chinese, you can switch to the Global (English) version with this method:
Step-by-step:
1. Go to:
Settings → Home screen & Lock screen → Enable "Show Search at Bottom"
2. Install Oppo Global Search from Google Play:
3. After it's installed, go to:
Settings → Apps → App Management
→ Tap 3 dots in top-right → Enable "Show System Apps"
4. Find the system "Global Search" app in the list.
5. Tap it → Go to "Storage Usage" →
Press Clear Data and Clear Cache
6. Now go back to the Home Screen →
Press the Search bar at the bottom.
7. Android will ask:
Choose which Global Search to use —
Select the "newly installed Oppo Global Search" and set it as default.
✅ Done! Now bottom search works in English with no Chinese suggestions.
⚠️ Note: This only changes the "bottom search bar".
The "search in the Notification Panel (aka Quick Glance)" will still use the Chinese version — so avoid using it.
