Honestly, what Demi said about Zendaya’s Barbie doll wasn’t mean or degrading or ‘making it all about Demi’ what the hell is so wrong about asking for a ‘bigger’ doll? When are we gonna see a thick thighed, pudgy stomach on a doll that is beautiful like every single girl who gets picked on daily by family and friends? I swear tumblr is the absolute fucking worst. All we hear is body positivity and feminism and since the Zendaya issue, everyone is saying WHITE feminists make it about themselves. We just want equality for everyone, dreads, curves, black or white. I mean, isn’t that what feminism is? To want the same thing for everyone regardless of race?
But did she really have to mention when Zendaya’s doll came out?? Did everyone forget about the JLo, Beyonce, and Rosie Freaking O’Donnell doll they made. I’m going to be saying this for years. Yes to body positive especially I’m no Naomi Campbell. But people should probably look around before voicing their opinions??
OH OMG MY BAD! For some odd reason, I thought this was MY post…. On, oh look! MY BLOG! In case you didn’t realize the little hashtag at the end of her tweet, it obviously states that Barbie was holding a ‘campaign’ where many people talk about what the want to see for future Barbies. Now unlike your nearsighted fucking Vision. Demi wasn’t doing shit to Zendaya. Yeah maybe she coulda congratulated her but hey! Maybe the thought slipped her mind! And as for the ‘other dolls’ Does your close minded opinion not realize how many DIFFERENT BODY TYPES THERE ARE??? Or are you really that fucking ignorant? Just like there are many different hairstyles for African Americans other than the iconic dreads? Before you tell me to ‘get out’ , maybe you should follow that advice(:
You forgot to lower case the ‘v’ in vision, by the way. The mature thing to do would have been to wait a little bit before posting something like that. She chose the wrong time, she probably knew that since she deleted both of her tweets. Since I’m so close minded I might as well mention that they have been other dolls of iconic African American women like Mel B, Brandy, Destiny’s Child, The Williams sisters, etc. All with different hair: straight, curly, box braids, Afro (this is when you use an upper case letter for a word at the end of your sentence), etc. As a black women , I’m aware of the different variations of “black” hair. You are preaching to the choir. There have been steps made in the right direction, there should be more diverse dolls. At the same time, women shouldn’t shade or try to move the attention away from someone’s success. It wasn’t the right time to bring it up. That’s like going on a walk-a-ton for breast cancer and saying, “WHAT ABOUT AIDS?” But are important, but it’s not about the other at the moment.
AND OH MY GOD, for some odd reason I was able to respond to you in a mature manner that didn’t involve cursing or completely insulting your intelligence even though I could have.
Put your big girl panties on and try handle a response to a post you made.
But, yes there’s this thing called grammar and when there’s a need to talk in plural or singular.
So when you said as a black women, did you mean you have multiple clones of yourself or did you just not pay attention? Yes I capitalized different letters at the end of my sentences but, we all make mistakes right? Like you JUST did above. Just like Demi did when she didn’t congratulate Zendaya for her Barbie doll. Demi wasn’t ‘shading’ or ‘taking attention away’ from what I don’t understand is how you can applaud Nikki for doing the EXACT same thing Demi did. Nikki posted her doll and talked all about it. The only difference is 1) Nikki had a congratulatory sentence before her ‘boasting’ 2) Nikki’s doll doesn’t represent Nikki’s body type at All. Which was the point Demi was making. There are more than 2 body types. There are in-betweens that, it seems, no body cares about. According to Barbie, you’re either really thin or really big. Can’t you see? I can be mature about this too. But, seeing how no one cares about where Demi is coming from, I feel the need to explain what everyone is missing. The only thing everyone cares about is that a white complexed WOMAN is shading an African American Woman due to racial prejudice instead of what’s the real issue. Body positivity.
I have several clones. I have one named Sarah, she’s the one who goes to work. There’s Brittany, she’s the one who likes work out. And then there’s me, the one telling you that you’re wrong. By the way, Sarah has an Afro. Yes, Afro is suppose to be capitalized unlike vision. And Brittany has box braids.
People make mistakes? Not me. My clones and I are perfect, so I don’t know what you’re talking about. *insert sarcastic tone here*
Did I say anything about Nicki in my reply to you? No one applauded her. She was petty for that, just like you trying to put words in my mouth smarty pants.
No one said that we can’t be body positive, I’m all for it. As I mentioned before, I’m not Noami Campbell. I’m not a tall, lengthy, model-like black women.
I’m just saying it was the wrong time. It’s a little ludicrous that people, including Nicki, can’t let Zendaya have her moment.
Just be happy that there’s been another step with a mainstream company towards diversity.
I’m not salty? I’m just trying to get it through that thick skull of yours that if you’re going to try and grammar correct me, you still suck at it yourself as you, once again, used the plural version of woman when you are, in fact, talking about one person. And as a matter of fact, I am an, as you put it, “smarty pants” because at least I know proper grammar unlike yourself. Oh and my bad my finger hit the capitalize button when it wasn’t supposed to be. Sue me if you would like. Fortunately, you won’t be getting anything from me but some college textbooks. They might come in handy to you though! And again this ISN’T about race, as people like you and so many others label it as. I’m pretty sure Demi could give two fucks whether Zendaya is Black, purple, or green. The fact of the matter is, Demi wants body diversity. Not just “Rosie O'Donnell” and “Original Barbie”
Once again, you have nothing better to say so you go ahead and try to insult my intelligence. You insult it, despite the fact that I did college course during high school and attend the top college in my state.
Give a that woman (Zendaya) and the other women, their time to shine. Don’t try to give some speech during someone’s presentation.
Save your sorry, re-written (or lack of a) argument for someone else who’s dumb enough not to see the fault in it.

every time i see demi i see her being salty about that ‘curvy’ barbie which HAS ALREADY HAPPENED
❛ i don’t even know what to sing.. ❜ tia whispered looking down at her.

❛ how about a classic, beyonce - crazy in love i think it fits, ❜ lily answered her fingers rubbing circles into tia’s inner thighs.
a small chuckle left her lips, hearing the suggestion. ❛ that song is out of my league, but okay. ❜she licked her lips, nervously before letting the lyrics fall out of mouth.

❛ so here’s what’s gonna happen. i’m going down on you, and you’ll sing. you stop i stop. ❜

tia bite her bottom lip, “you know i wouldn’t last a second. that’s so not fair.” she blushed.

❛ well you’re just going to have to try your hardest then, ❜ lily answered with a smile, leaning to press a kiss to tia’s hip.
❛ i don’t even know what to sing.. ❜ tia whispered looking down at her.
pretty much! trying to act like mattel has never done anything for anyone. if they made a doll for her it would still look a regular barbie tbh. she needs to get out of here with all of that. if she’s so concerned why is everyone on her game the same size and shape?

Welcome to a world of very naughty girls. These girls are so bad that they'll do anything to make their grades.
