Sophomore: Georgia Institute of Technology gives its students an incredible, quality education. I love this place! First, the opportunities that the name "Georgia Tech" brings to its students are invaluable, and cannot be compared to any other institution. Many of my colleagues simply received interviews and offers solely because of the name on their resume. Its also important to mention how great the professors and staff are here, as well.
Further, the community is awesome. I have met and will continue to meet incredible minds. There are so many different people and groups here that everyone will find a place. The friends that I have made here I hold close to my heart.
Also, I want to mention its location. Atlanta is truly a beautiful city with many things to do after a long days of studying. There's the Coca-cola factory, Ponce City Market, and much more.

Freshman: I'm finishing up my first year at Oxford College of Emory University, and I've loved it! There's a strong sense of community that I've never felt anywhere else, and all the people are really nice. The student body is incredibly smart, while also being down-to-earth, laidback, and cooperative rather than competitive. The education I receive is second to none, and my professors have been extremely insightful, personable, and accommodating. The campus itself is beautiful, with the tree-filled quad, the nature trail, and the new student center. The main drawback is the food, as, even though the quality is great, there are only really 2 food options on campus and they get repetitive fast. UberEats and DoorDash are lifesavers. Oxford College of Emory University has become my new home, and I can't wait to go back next year.

Niche User: Spelman College is truly meant for women who are ready to learn about their culture, dive into deep issues, and are prepared to grow in character. Spelman's academics are like no other (very rigorous). Spelman challenges the individual to think beyond the surface. Spelman also has a beautiful campus, and is well-secured from the surrounding community of Atlanta. My experience at Spelman College's Early College Program has taught me a lot about my African American heritage and has helped me to become humble. Spelman College is expensive in price, however, the education is worth it!

Junior: I LOVE GSU! Go Panthers! This beautiful college is located at the heart of downtown Atlanta. Which is the perfect spot for food, fun activities and school all in one. Imagine going to class one minute and then grabbing some exquisite Asian cuisine for lunch the next minute. There’s always something going on. Popular movies are frequently being shot downtown or you may run into some upper business people that could help you with your future career. The professors at this college are all reasonable and the students here are diverse and friendly. I would give Georgia State University a 10 out of 10!

Freshman: I entered Kennesaw State as non-traditional transfer student. While all of my previous credits, didn't transfer from 20 years ago, I was still able to get started with a little bit of head start. The advisors have been absolutely wonderful in helping lay out a graduation plan that is doable and digestible. All of the support and resources available to students is just amazing and I am feeling confident I will finish this time around!

Freshman: Small campus but so many opportunities and events. Coming here was the best thing I’ve ever done. The professors are genuine and love knowing about each student personally. All faculty are supportive in athletics and academics, as well as future career advising. Greek life is also great here! All sorts of people are welcome at Oglethorpe and we’re all like a big family!

Alum: I graduated from Morehouse 10 years ago and I have to say that it was one of the most significant, transformative, inspirational experiences of my life as a black man. Morehouse isn't perfect - dorms, food, admin - though I'm sure things have improved, those "inconveniences" help to perseverance/endurance and a bond with your brothers. It's one of those things that you value in retrospect a time passes.

The faculty and professors teach with love and attention. Morehouse also offers great opportunities to excel after graduation (corporate recruiting, feeder to ivy grad schools, etc) Campus life was very active (it was POPPIN!) lots of opportunity for service, fun, and personal development.

Niche User: I love this school! Its campus is very beautiful and peaceful. Classes are medium sized, depending on the course. Some courses may have ten students, while others may have around 30 students. I have been in both. Smaller classes are brilliant because it gives the student the opportunity to speak to the teacher one-on-one. Also, teachers' office hours are very flexible, so you can speak to them on your own time. Clayton State University has multiple buildings that are very decent. They have an Arts & Sciences building; a laboratory building; a College of Business; and another building, James Baker University. It's easy to speak with your advisor on your courses needed for graduation as well. The courses are also not very expensive compared to other universities. There is a diverse student body with numerous student activities to choose from.

Alum: UWG is the best kept secret in GA! If you’re looking for a midsized institution where you matter, then you need to Go West. From day 1 stepping on campus the faculty and staff cared for me. I was able to get involved in in organizations that mattered, and found mentors and plenty of friends who cared for me. I am so happy I chose UWG and it was a decision that changed my life for the better. And academics, with top rated education, nursing, and business programs and stellar arts, political science, and sciences, you can’t go wrong. Go West! You’ll be so happy you did.

Sophomore: Clark Atlanta University is an AMAZING institution. I am currently a rising junior and I can honestly say there is never a dull moment. At Clark Atlanta we turn up together as a family, and get our work done. I have a 3.8 GPA, and have already participated in multiple internship and research opportunities. I will say though, definitely MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN AFFORD 4 YEARS AT CAU BEFORE ENROLLING AS A FRESHMAN. It is a very expensive price tag, and I will say that it can be frustrating when your trying to have fun but you do not have enough money to make it through the semester(s). However, if you work really hard in high school and get a solid GPA (3.25-4.0+) and make a solid SAT score (1,100+) you'll probably qualify for a merit scholarship. The main reason I was able to afford CAU was because of a Full Tuition Scholarship (My GPA was 3.7 & SAT 1200). All in all, CAU is AMAZING but choose a school that is AMAZING and affordable, and if thats CAU, well....SEE YOU SOON FELLOW PANTHER!

Senior: Great cost of attendance! The tuition cost is by far the lowest of most surrounding colleges, and the campus is beautiful. The parking situation could be made much better, as it is often very difficult to find park, or there is no parking available. The variety of foods on campus could also be much better. The eCore online classes offered are definitely very limited, which is a big issue on a campus that is primarily made up of commuters. The classes offered on campus are also quite limited, especially considering the amount the amount has grown over the years, and the availability for upper level classes in most majors.

Junior: Best choice ever! I chose Reinhardt over bigger schools like UGA or Tech because I wanted to graduate with no debt. Even with Zell Miller paying for my tuition at a public school, I would have had to pay for room/board/fees. There are so many scholarship opportunities at Reinhardt that I've been totally fine to just work in the summers- I just wish the academic scholarship increased proportionally. However, I will still be graduating in a year with no debt. I have been challenged here by some amazing profs, but I have also had the best time ever- hikes, camping trips, football games, movie nights, conferences, studying abroad, getting things published, etc. Great place for performing art students, writers, nurses, teachers, and business people. The community and small class sizes are amazing. If you don't plan on spending your college years drunk, want to grow academically, socially, and spiritually, and want a small school with a fun, quirky personality, you will love it here.

Freshman: I am doing my second go around 20 + years later, and this time I am doing it online! I couldn't be happier with the welcome wagon at AIU! Only a few weeks in and everyone has already made me feel like I am home. From my Admissions Advisor to the Financial Aid Advisor I get calls numerous times a week to see if everything is running smoothly and if I'm acclimating well. I am beyond thrilled for this new journey and have gotten straight A's so far!! Here I come Dean's list!

Junior: Atlanta Metropolitan is a school that provides hopes and dreams of becoming who you want to be in life. The resources are phenomenal from the library to the classrooms. Atlanta Metropolitan State College makes sure that students have weekly seminars that they can attend at their own will. The professors on the other hand can be difficult, but its college! We all need a challenge in our lives. Many professors are there to help you in succeeding to reach your dreams. I use ratemyprofessor.com when choosing any of my instructors. The cafeteria is awesome! They have foods of your liking at any time. This school is a community college for anyone who stays in the Atlanta area. There is no housing so tuition is really cheap and affordable. If you are looking for a school that allows you to work around your schedule, then Atlanta Metropolitan State College is the right school for you.

Junior: Great college. I go to college online, and I have been able to do my best work with the flexibility of when I can do my work, as long as I turn it in on time! Teachers are available to answer any questions you need via email or cell phone. The assignments/ projects are described in depth. The Syllabus clearly tells you what you will be doing in the class, and you can also work ahead!

Junior: Herzing University is one of the only schools in Atlanta that has an ABA accredited Paralegal Studies Program. The professors are attorneys, and you learn a lot since the core classes are taught on campus. The classes are in the evenings, so going to school while working full time is possible.

Senior: My experience as a student at Devry University (online) has been exceptional. I love the way my assigned student advisor calls and checks on me on a regular basis. The professors take the time to meet with students one on one if needed and really show that they care. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to gain a degree or professional certification!

Freshman: I am currently a dual enrollment student at UNG and I have really enjoyed it! All of my classes have been online and the way UNG has set up their online classes is not only organized, but it is really easy to get all the help and information you could need and/or could want. The teachers are also really helpful and their main goal is to make sure every student succeeds and I think that is so beneficial in making an excellent educations for every student.

Junior: The admissions process was easy for me. The turn around from the time I applied and sent in all items the school requested for admission was a month. My advisor was quick to respond to any questions I had. Overall, I would have to say I'm happy with my process so far!

Freshman: I requested more information from Luther Rice College and seminary and they responded quickly, but not with a barrage of annoying phone calls. Instead, they will be sending a packet filled with information about applying, enrollment, financial aid, etc. I would recommend them in a heart beat because no one wants to be harassed all day long with annoying phone calls feeling like you’re being forced into making a decision, when you can take the time to read through their catalog and make an informed decision on your own.

Sophomore: South college has a great nursing program. The professors here are very helpful with whatever question you may have. The staff work very hard and are very helpful with the needs of their students. WIth COVID going on they make sure to check temperatures, sanitize the classroom after each class section, and make sure everyone is wearing a mask before entering the building. Overall South College is an excellent school.

I am very fortunate to lead such a unique College community that aspires to build ‘the world as it should be’. My belief in the value and importance of what we offer young people from the most diverse backgrounds is both considered and ardent. I am immensely proud of our story and of the powerful traditions of UWC Atlantic that have shaped the school physically, socially and intellectually. We continue to embrace the spirit of those pioneers who not only created the College in 1962 and launched the UWC movement in 1967 but also co-created the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme which is now taught the world over. Find Out More
