Loved the pool and location. Room was quite small but well kept and with a beautiful sea view. The when we saw our rooms. Asked to change two rooms. The manager says 'no cry, no milk' which is very rude to say to clients. When I was taking a shower people from outside could see me I was in a bungalow. Though so employers, were of great help especially when we were shifting from one room to another. Plus our driver was staying there too. There were smells from the sewer. The hotel had cleaned. Our driver and the others complained, they were told if not happy to leave. We stayed three days, because we had reserved. A shame, just need to change the management, and the place would have been nice. The room and bathroom were generously sized we were upgraded to a family room and all appeared to have balconies. Pool was nice - but cloudy even though it was cleaned thoroughly and regularly. The breakfast was a plentiful mix of Sri Lankan and western choices, though the tea was just undrinkable - perhaps the plastic kettle was making the water taste funny? Seriously - lugging our bags all around the country, on and off buses and trains and tuk tuks - we are happy to carry them to our own room without the greedy attitude, thanks. The music is hilarious! We are now fully refreshed on 80s love songs. It was gorgeous our 1st night there, but despite the full moon rising over the water, the Celine Dion, Starship, Michael Bolton etc playlist was crushing the romantic mood! I had my serious doubts about booking this place after reading some of the reviews. The location is first class, the rooms, bed linen and bathroom were clean perhaps not scrupulously so for clean freaks but certainly clean enough. The pool and the grounds were nice and breakfast was fine although there were some flies around. The staff were all nice and smiley and took note of our request for adjacent rooms. But the beach is the winner - truly gorgeous and not at all crowded. Only wish I was back there now! The beach the Sea Lotus park Hotel is idyllic and the hotel still has a long way to go to come up to standards set in other parts of the world. We only stayed for four days. There was not only a hole in our front and backdoor but also in our beds. There were also a lot of nasty spots on our blanket. This hotel is located right by the beach. They really need to work on plumbing drain system ,every time water runs from the sink or shower, it smell very bad. We went on a snorkeling trip to Pigeon Island arranged through the hotel and it was fantastic. It is a must do trip. Overall, it was a good stay. It was a very pleasant stay. Nice room, friendly staff. We enjoyed our week a the hotel. The hotel was not very full and we were well cared for during our stay especially by the restaurant staff and chefs. There were problems with the swimming pool during the last few days of our stay but they were working hard to fix it. We stayed in the hotel for 4 Nights. Staffs were friendly and fairly prompt in response. The hotel made you welcomed. The neighbourhood a bit noise outside the hotel boundary, room rate is not that bad. We reported immediately and we were told it will be sorted in 10 mins. Went to complain to duty manager who almost laughed it off and said it was in hand. Complained again, new duty manager, other had left!! Eventually got moved to a new room. Staff hot helpful at all. All in all a 3rd class service for 1st class money. Thank god for Fernandos beach bar around the corner serving good food drink in relaxed atmosphere. I would not recommended Sea Lotus to anyone. The room was clean and big, hotel is at the good location on the beach, service boat to Pgeon island is nice. We can not go in the swimming pool because of the water. Staff was not able to clea it. Breakfast and restaurant is acceptable for free but not more. The staff were very good and their English was impressive. Buffet dinners in the evening were a positive aspect with a large restaurant. The hotel was is next to Uppuveli beach which was a nice clean beach. The deluxe room was clean and ok, but not value for money. The area is expensive, and Chaya Blue was full except for one day. It is far better, and about the same price. We upgraded from the very tired dark and smelly standard room to the delux for not much more. Very over priced for what you got and so many of the issues could easily be resolved. A gardener to brighten and maintain the garden. No wifi was annoying. It was a very good experience to be at this hotel as it has very easy access to the beautiful beach as well close to key spots like Pigeon Island, Hot wells temples etc. The hotel staff too was very friendly. In all a good stay experience. I stayed at the Sea Lotus Park Hotel on Wednesday the 27th of February as it was located near to the city of Trincomalee, one of the better hotels in the area I advise you to stay in the newer section of the hotel. I had read some negative reviews and was pleasantly suprised when the Sea Lotus not only met my expections but beat them. We did not each much the Sea Lotus as we were trying restraunts and different food to eat all the time, but the one breakfast we got was very good. Best hotel of the three i stayed in SriLanka, very big rooms nice view of the sea.. Every thing is nice about this place. Excellent hotel for stay and enjoy. It is located in sea front and rooms are excellent. Restaurent is nice and need vegetarian menu to be improved. Location is the good thing. Very nice beach. But the basic rooms are probably too expensive for what they are. It is all the most stupid because they have some new rooms, which they prefer to leave empty, when they could give an upgrade to their clients. Would have cost them nothing to be nice to their clients. The buffet for lunch or dinner was average, I decided to go to Chaaya Blue which, although more expensive, is so so much better. The management are first class and gave us a free upgrade into a prime suite because they could, the service is the same from reception to the kitchen, first class. The room was very spacious and well equipped to a high standard including spacious fully tiled bathroom and hot shower. Views from the room over pristine white sand beach and ocean. The beach is very quiet and peaceful. Impressive was the friendly adult deer that resides in the gardens around the pool. A memorable stay. We stayed there 6 nights and I wont to speak about poor sites Expensive food You can find more chip and testy food walking to the left from hotel by beach about 50 meters Some rooms are damaged The deer living there was one of our good new friends in Sri Lanka. The service could have been better especially in the Dining room. They do not provide much variety of food and the menu is much the same each day. Some of the staff seem to be somewhat 'SHY' and the main drawback is the inability to converse in English. The location is Good and they could capitalise on this if they provided better access to the Hotel. Currently the road is shocking to the Hotel as it is a gravel road with several Pot holes. However that said,unfortunately several of the roads arounc Sri Lanka are in a sad state of disrepair. Overall we enjoyed our stay as we have never been there before. Hi We stayed for one night and had booked standard room. The room was spacious but the get up just about ok. Good location for swimming pool facing the beach. We had a problem with the restaurant since it offered only buffet option for dinner. I was expecting proactiveness from their end. Surely, they did upgrade my room to that extent. Breakfast spread was reasonable. The Hotel is ideally located in Uppuveli, with a direct access to the beach and a nice swimming pool. The staff is helpful and friendly. But the hotel realy needs to invest into the rooms. Shower is leaky, linen are definitely not clean. Could have been better for the price. If you want a great location, take it. If you want a clean one, choose something else. We needed to check in early. The manager was very accommodating and even bumped us up to deluxe rooms! We had a beautiful view of the pool and beach, as well as of the deer that roams the grounds. The room was spacious and clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom was quite modern. We had very good interactions with all the staff. The breakfast buffet was nice but we would have preferred more choices for westerners, as well as real coffee hard to find in Sri Lanka! We had a couple very tasty lunches but avoided dinner because of the prices. However, our last night there was a reasonably priced buffet on the beach - delicious! Be careful about eating outside by the pool during the day - black birds are very aggressive. This inconvenienced the rest of her travel. The Owner evaded her calls to meet up and discuss adn the manager in charge, merely gave excuses rather than owned up to the their negligence. A few of us witnessed the staff roughly handling the baggage, which also tore at the side. A Delux room in sea lotus seems to offer the best value for money in this area. Staff always helpful, very relaxing place to hang out. The pool is nice, nothing fancy, and they could do with some more nice outdoor eating areas as the restaurant is all glassed in and can feel stuffy. Mornings swims followed by breakfast out the front was great but evenings we usually ventured elsewhere. Food is good, not gourmet but well priced and plenty of it. Make sure you book a Delux room, only seem to be 10 dollars more, and much nicer. Top floors are best for great ocean views. All of the staff were wonderful, the housekeeper even put a beautiful towel swan on my bed, they did very well at taking care of me. Waiter Stephen was especially helpful but they were all great. Not five star in the pool area or around the restaurant could do with some nice outdoor decks and flowers etc but still very relaxing. The water pressure is quite weak in the bathrooms though. Otherwise happy. We ended up staying here a week, and were happy that we did. As one of the more 'affordable' options in Trinco, this hotel was great. As it was somewhat off-season, we got to know the staff really well. Rooms are great--huge!! The pool is lovely, as is the ocean which is ten seconds from the hotel grounds. There are a lot of good restaurants along the beach the one at the hotel is alright , and a few activities to be done as well. The GM is a lovely man, and helped us out a lot! Enjoyed our stay. Rooms were large and airy. Service was good. Initially, the hotel room seemed worse than a Motel 6 and, being a woman staying there alone, I was a little worried. But, you need to look past the curtains hanging off the rods and get through the initial shock after staying at the very nice Chaaya Blu just a few hundred feet up the beach that hotel was entirely booked and I had to switch hotels in the middle of my stay in Trincomalee. The bed was extremely comfortable, with very soft clean white sheets and comfortable pillows. No mosquitoes. The air conditioner worked just fine. The bathroom was ok. The staff was polite. But, waking up each morning to the sound of the surf and the tranquil view of the water was absolutely worth any lack of luxury at this hotel. If you stay here, make sure you stay at a beach bungalow and not at one of the regular hotel rooms. We stayed just one night, as we were on a round trip through Sri Lanka. The room we stayed was nice and large and had all facilities but the beach facilities are really poor, one broken umbrella at the pool. No shadow at the beach. Service also was moderate. Generally a nice hotel with pretty surroundings and an ideal location. Service and food at the restaurant was lousy. The selection of food available was not good and the staff were inattentive, and even switched the lights off in the dining area while I was still eating - it was only ! We had a great time in this hotel. The service and friendliness of the staff must be commended. Soon after we arrived after a long journey we were given welcome drink and ushered to rooms. We were pelasently surprised by the cleanliness of the rooms. It had every amenity we need. Food was value for money. Great place to staty and recommend for anyone. Highly recommended. Had a ball and comes with only praise to fellow tourist. Right on the beach although the view is spoiled by the beach bungalows. Pool is very small but the beach makes up or it. Rooms are clean and newly renovated and spacious. Huge balcony overlooking ocean. Service was friendly but staff need more training. Restaurant food a bit limited and prices a little bit expensive for this standard hotel. The area is dead, no vibe no atmosphere. The room in the new building was great. Giant bed! The pool was a good size too, shame the staff just gorp and stare at you all day. It came out with no burger, just cheese in a bun. Slight debate about that, but then the best bit. It returned to have 2 smashed sausages trying to pass off as burgers the size of a 50p 25c Quarter. My advice would be to avoid Trinco completely as there is nothing up here and the beach is dirty. We enjoyed the staying like having bath in sea,pool and enjoy the sunset too. Room is bigger than we thought and comfotable too. Facilities are well, service is better and place is good for honey mooners like us. Restaurant is well established with good side seen and foods are very tasty.
