Great bathrooms too! The beach was covered in seaweed that made the area smell which was a bit if a downer but pools and restaurants were great! All in all it was a good stay for the price! Very nice hotel!! Rooms are a bit dated but nothing to worry about AC works fine!! Food and staff is the best!! The place is beautiful and clean. The restaurants serve good food. Probably a three star. The drinks are mainly domestic. We went to Mexican Ala-carte and my husband was served with chicken Fajitas when he asked for beef Fajitas. Being allergic to chicken my husband suffered a whole day with stomach ache. The maid service was good for two days. Then they forget to refill coffee and toiletries; which is annoying. My 'Garden View' Suite is a swamp. Prepared to update if things get better. Lots of walking, but the train came in handy when you could find it. The beach area was very small. Hard to get dinner reservations. A little confusion when checking in and out. I took the tour of the resort, but it took up too much time and I felt pressured to buy, although the presentation was different from typical time shares. The walking was the worst, but many nice animals to see on the property. On the brighter side, the excursions were cheaper when you buy from the hotel. Gift shop personnel were very helpful. Pool was very nice and vip guest had the best views on the ocean and a private beach area. The food was good and I enjoyed their service. Getting to the hotel from the airport was very convenient. We were greeted with a drink, and everyone is very friendly and spoke English. I found the room to be a bit too cold for me but I was able to turn off the fan if I wanted to. The food is quite good, tried the Italian and Mexican dinners. I like how there were many places to get drinks and food throughout the resort. Stayed at this hotel as part of a package all the workers here have been very friendly providing excellent service they have carts that can take you to your room. You will see some wildlife while staying either on the path or in the trees around your room. The buildings themselves need a little more maintenence some off the buildings paint was peeling. Overall a great place to stay if you find a package deal. Drinks are included. Good food, clean rooms, and great staff!! The beach is horrible though. The beach is really rocky and seems to attract the red tide. Other than that this is definitely a three star resort. We thought we may need a wheelchair for our visit next week. Called to see if they could help and Monica was so very helpful, offered us a courtesy wheelchair for our time at the resort and to find a rental place and cost for us in Playa. We had the best time! The rooms are excellent and comfy. The food is abundant and delicious, the beach is all pleasure, there are a lot of things to do every time. There are wild animals and the gardens are very well kept. On the other side, the service on restaurants and bars works better if you tip the waiters and barmen The worse: you pay per person, but they give you 1 Wi-Fi code per room The blue bay was an amazing experience for us. The first day we arrived the bell boy Jose was extremely hospitable. He showed us to our rooms which we were extremely grateful for because we were extremely overwhelmed, being our first time out of the country in a foren place. Mexico is so awesome!! Pools are excellent with lots of lounge chairs. The maid service was excellent. Not a good send off for such an excellent resort. I would definitely come back!!! Excellent hotel. Staff were great. The only minor issue was how often the carts went around the resort. It was faster to walk places them wait for it. Food was the same everyday but overall it was a great experience. My wife and I came to this resort for a destination wedding my brother, aged 54 was getting married for the first time. We were in building 7. The room was pleasant and a good size. The bathroom had 2sinks, but one did not drain properly, neither did the shower. The Televisions in this resort are old, and picture quality is very poor. Every time the TV was turned on it would be set to maximum volume Very annoying. The sliding doors to the ample balcony were poorly weatherstripped, so wind noise and other noises were a constant problem. The food at the buffet and special restaurants was quite good, although, the quality of the beef cuts was inconsistent beef tenderloin could be tender or not. We especially enjoyed the Mexican restaurant. You have to get up early to reserve a beach or pool chair that is shaded. All staff were attentive, friendly and caring. The hotel is great and the food is excellent. The staff however are amazing! We are veteran Mexico travellers and this hotel blew us away. The restaurant staff is particularly impressive. Very friendly and genuine people. Highly recommend. Everything was decent! Great service though. Staff is very friendly. If you like unlimited papaya, and guacamole Go here! The food was delicious. We tried the French, Italian, Mexican and Steakhouse restaurants and were impressed each time. Great items on the buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our main server, Augustin, working the the Jaal-Ha buffet was awesome. Always knew what we wanted and he was so sociable. This was our first time at an all inclusive and this place definitely exceeded our expectations! Stayed in building 6. Amenities were pretty good and food at some restaurants was excellent, such as Mexican and Italian. Seafood restaurant fell short of expectations. Pools were clean and well kept, atmosphere was pleasant and fun. Overall a good experience, although I may choose another all inclusive in the future. Some other guests had been recurring for 7 years and said that recently the resort had gone down hill. A good resort for the price you pay. The rooms are adequate and clean. The two pools are also well kept. There is a problem finding a chair to sit on. I do have to mention that our family was there during the holidays Quit crowed. The variety of drinks the bar tenders make are very limited and the same drink never tasts quit the same. The service in general is quit friendly. I would recommend this but add that anyone coming should not be to critical considering the price. Stayed for a week over Christmas French, Italian and steak house were our faves. Indoor and outdoor entertainment were very very good. Staff were all very friendly, pool and beach are great. We stayed at this hotel for a week and had an amazing time. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Especially Antonio Chulim and Jose German from the buffet. They always knew how to take care of us. The other staffs were excellent as well, Incagnico from the black and white bar and Mario from the front. Overall we wold definitely recommend this hotel to other vacationers. Overall, great place. Food is good, staff are nice, and a good area to walk around. Other people who stay there are nice as well. Nice little drink area for you to watch the news or play a game. Wildlife around there is nice. Good shows in the evening as well. All in all, I strongly recommend it. What a fun time! We had an amazing trip at this resort. The nightly entertainment is such high caliber, the dancers and performers are costly professionals. The all night bar is awesome an and they have top shelf liquor. The food is great and there is tons of choice. The restaurants are delicious- Mexican and french were our favorites. The beach is long so there is lots of space. There is a beautiful lagoon for swimming only a 10min walk away. The vibe is great at the pool, if you like a vibrant and fun atmosphere. Before we came we read poor reviews that the beach sucked and there was too much walking at this resort. However, we stayed in the furthest building and timed our walks. It only took 7 minutes to walk to the beach, and 3 minutes to get to the restaurants. If you have an injury then they have little shuttles to take you around. Otherwise I think the people complaining are just lazy. Decent room. Good variety at the buffets, restaurants are pretty good. The pool is big with lots of activities. Overall good resort for the money. The hotel is nice, but it needs a little TLC around the pool. The staff is amazing, and they do their best. Stay away from the Travel Club. The staff are really nice here. Very pleasant, courteous and professional. The hotel grounds are beautifully kept, much of the local wildlife wanders through which is delightful. The rooms are adequate. A little sparse and the room we had was ready to be painted and freshener up. But maid service keeps it spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. Air conditioning is excellent. The restaurants offer an exceptional buffet and there are al a carte restaurants also. The food is very high quality and there is a great deal of choice from international and local cuisines. The pools and entertainment are great. Very close to the beach which is also looked after by the hotel. I love it here! Location is about 45 minutes from the airport. Rooms are great, very clean, quite spacious. The cleaning staff cleans the rooms daily and creates the coolest animals with towels for you. Service is excellent, very friendly staff. Food is pretty good, you have to book each dinner 1 day before hand which got to be a little annoying however they do try to make it quite accessible. Quite simply a Mexican paradise. This is the best all inclusive resort I have ever been to. The food and presentation of everything is top of the line. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. Any issues with our room were handled immediately. Currently staying at this resort. Upon arrival we realized that we had to wait more than 2 hours to actually get our room. However, Victor was really helpful in directing us on which restaurant to eat for lunch. Overall the food is good, it got boring after the 3rd day. The pool is nice but you have to wake up early and 'save' your spot if you want a shaded area. You do have to walk a lot but the scenery was nice. Stayed in a lovely king suite and attached double room with an outdoor jacuzzi for a family vacation. We had more room than we could possibly need but we also had a mild ant problem in 2 of the 3 bathrooms. They could only spray it so the problem persisted throughout our stay. Check in was my biggest compliant. It took us 40 minutes at the check in desk to get our room keys as the process was extremely slow. Overall the main pool was nice with plenty of lounge chairs and activities throughout the day. The beach was a huge disappointment because it was quite dirty and possibly worse than the Jersey shore. Perhaps a storm came by and made it rougher than usual but it stayed pretty gross for 4 days. Food was good depending on what you got. I really enjoyed the breakfast and lunch buffets the most. I would be sure to check out each buffet if you are staying more than a couple days because some are definitely better than others. Visited here on a girls trip with friends. The food is not bad, and the wait service was very nice. If you are looking for all inclusive, pool time, and warm weather--this was great. The beach was very small and a little murky. The pool was very well kept though. On our last day here almost every girl on our trip had cash stolen out of various places--including the safe! We reported it as soon as we realized and the security and management was very nice, but really there was nothing they could do at that point. We are currently staying at the Blue Bay. The room is spacious and clean. The service has been good. The food is good. They do have a shuttle service so you can catch though. The longest we had to wait for that was minutes. Other than that great resort so far. As of right now Love Mr. Update on day 5. Lots of sun and fun. Juan and Eddie at the little pool bar are amazing servers. Steakhouse is very good. Make sure you go. So far our trip has been amazing. Service has been great! With the exception of the front desk the staff have been so helpful. Front desk I found to be lacking in the customer service Hotel is amazingly clean, super well maintained for how much greenery there is. We are getting married here at Blue Bay and our wedding consultant Lucero Lulu Ruiz is an absolute treasure to this resort. Fantastic work, you guys should be incredibly proud to have her on your team, thank you for making our special day even more amazing! Excellent place for vacations, delicious food, nice staff, fun all time everywhere. The only thing I did not like it is that my membership does not give a better price. And the finance guy is not a nice guy Enrique. High price but not a real benefit, unless you plan to go there, same place for vacations for 30 years. Great resort! We enjoyed a lot food and grounds. Great singing couple in lounge by Italian and French restaurants! Thank you Blue Bay! Staff, services, food, accommodation and the Resort are excellent. Beach - average, but has two main pools. Close to the Ruins. Pool is hard to get in and out for very old people. No sugar substitutes or unsweet tea or real diet cokes. The place is fun, lots of actives and places to eat. Love it but will consider other places. I would have to say this resort is not a 4. Depending on which building your room was you had a minimum 10 minute walk to the beach and larger pools. There was 3 out of the 4 shaded areas that were not in use and were taped off as the roofs were deteriorating, one roof actually fell partly into the pool. Neither connections worked anywhere unless you were in the main lobby. Most disappointing was front desk wanted to charge you to use their printer to print off your boarding passes for your flight home. Sorry, but would not recommend this resort. Overall, it was OK. Nothing fantastic. The beach was dirty, slimy and murky. Not the fault of the resort staff, who were seen cleaning the shore daily. Staff were overall pleasant, with a few exceptions. Biggest issue was seriously aggressive time share sales tactics, which went from friendly to misleading to uncomfortable to borderline harassment in a matter of hours. Rooms were kept tidy, beers and water replenished in the room quickly, but overall upkeep of rooms and resort was OK. Food was good, great variety, but hard to get outside of regular meal times. But, the resort itself left much to be desired. First, the check in procedure is problematic. You are given a laundry list of fees you learn about for the first time when you go to the front desk. Most of these fees involve lost cards or wristbands, but they would have been nice to know up front. Second, the layout of the resort is sprawling and counter intuitive. Our room was a good 15 minute walk from the beach down a well kept walkway. This was a beautiful walk, but I know some people may want to be closer to water on vacation. The rooms near the water have their own problem -- they are far away from the main strip of bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues in the center of the resort. Moreover, it was difficult navigating the resort. The signs were unhelpful and often led to dead ins or, in one instance, to my siblings walking off the resort entirely. Third, the rooms were fine yet uninspiring. Our shower leaked all over the bathroom floor despite our numerous efforts to keep water within the glass pane doors. Our blinds had hair from previous guests on them, which was taken care of with a quick call to housekeeping. My sister found that her sink was held together, literally, by a coke can propping up the bowl. Our bed was fairly comfortable. The TV was maybe 20 inches with bad picture. But there was a ton of closet space! Fourth, the beach itself is a bit rough. There is a large sandy portion by the basketball court, but the rest of it is held together by sand bags and was often invaded by massive amounts of seaweed and driftwood. There were plentiful chairs which was a very nice touch. Fifth, the food for lunch and breakfast was very good and average for dinner. Our first two nights we ate at the seafood and steak restaurants housed in the same building by the beach. The service was fine and the food was awful. Luckily, our dinners at the Mexican, Japanese, and dinner show restaurants were good, as were our buffet breakfast and lunch spreads. Sixth, the mixed drinks were very, very sweet, no matter how many times we asked the friendly bartenders to go easy on the sugar or mix. But the resort beer, which I think was a local Mexican brand, was good. Seventh, the service, as I said, was very good and friendly. But there were not enough staff members at any portion of the resort. We waited often at dinner for refills on wine and water. Finally, our checkout procedure was smooth. A large golf cart picked up our bags and brought them to the transportation area while we walked the ten minutes to the center of the resort to check out. It took five minutes to do this, which is a bit long, but they had warned us in the beginning to a lot sometime to do this. To summarize, I would say this resort has management problems. Its staff is friendly and wants to help and it has most of what you want in an all-inclusive. But the poor layout, inadequate staffing, and cut corners make this an average resort at best. I had a good time at BlueBay. I will not be coming back. Had a blast, staff were amazing, pool was perfect temperature and the Jet Skies work really well. Food was also really good. We have a package at this resort. It is beautiful, well kept, the staff is friendly and accommodating. However, the distance between restaurants and the beach or any other activity is huge, hundreds of meters. Absolutely a bore. It is an enclosure with not too many activities going on. The music is horrible. They came, sang three songs, we could not even dance enough and stopped for a huge break, took them forever to start singing. Any other activity is a total bore. Today, Saturday, December 11th, for the first time, they had a very decent entertainment night with beautiful songs and dance presentations. Way to go! Other than that, it is clean, well maintained. I take that back, because this is the second day here and the sink is not draining properly. Such a shame for a four stars resort. I could not even see because of the tiredness and heat. Finally, they gave us the room and could rest. Took the drinks away while were dancing. I have mixed feelings about this resort. On one hand it is beautiful and has many positives, on the other hand there is a lot of negative going on. The food is exquisite, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, respectful, not to complain about them. Samuel at the pool, outstanding service, very nice, respectful, hardworking guy. Carlos and every single one at the restaurant, cooks and waiters, outstanding service, the food is delicious and there is lots to choose from. Thank you, guys. You are the best, friendly, hospitable and warm. I would still recommend it only if they make the improvements. There are other resorts we went to and we had a lot more fun and they were not as fancy and the price not as high. Towards our last days of stay in Mexico, there are more people showing up and it gets better. The room service is very good and I very grateful in spite of the negatives. They definitely put in a lot of work and made it a great place to stay. Very central to enjoy the resort and the rest of Cancun. Beach was a bit of a disappointment but there was a lot to do and enjoy. First of all, the bad reviews that has been left lately if nothing I recognise from my stay at this research in May Maybe it has gone down hill since then, but I had a wonderful time here together with my husband. The room was great, and great service and cleaning. Cleaners topped up mini bar every morning and even gave us more beer as husband asked for it. Every morning we came back to pretty and neatly made figures. And on the last night they have made a mermaid out of the towels and spread rose petals on the bed. Food was great and the choices were plenty. Mexican restaurant was my favourite. But also the buffet restaurants were really good. It is very shallow, around 4 feet, and there is no deeper parts to swim properly in. I stayed here for 8 nights. It was a meeh stay overall. Wifi was ridiculous, in my room I barely had connection, not in my bed but on the balcony only! There is no wifi at the pools, should I use my roaming data?! Also beach was not nice at all, it was full of seaweeds and tiny! Everything was closed at 11 pm, it felt like a seniors resort. I will definetely not go again, pick a different resort that is worth your money and time! Good restaurants and foods. Rooms and their washrooms are good. On top of this wifi is currently only working in the lobby and surrounding buildings. Nearly half of the rooms have no wifi signal at the moment. They said they have been fixing it for the last week. This is great placw to stay. Clran room, friendly staff, pretty good food, and lot more However. They only allowed one kwy per room,. When i requested, they said no with stupid reason of ecco related which i did not get. They only allow wi-fi service for one device per room. Me and my families have 3 rooms with 8 members with 11 devices.. There are some more things, but for the price i paid, i will understand. I hope this helps for potential customers for thia hotel. These guys served the most exquisite hooves I have ever consumed. As a connoisseur of exotic hooven animals I have to say that Blue bay serves up the most scrumptious goat hooves I have ever tasted. Stayed there in May and loved everything about the hotel. Amazing food, great staff except for Front Desk!! Activity staff were amazing and kept us entertained through out the whole stay. We had breakfast in tge same restaurant everyday and the reason was Agustin the waiter. He made every possible thing to keep us happy by giving us an excellent service! Short 10 min beach walk to a beautiful Lagoon close to Tres Rios hotel. Beach was nice so was the pools. Would recommend it to everyone. We have Just returned from our holiday and can honestly say it was fabulous!!!! Great service, great food, clean and staff can not do enough for you. The swimming pools are lovely and sun beds are in abundance. The grounds are beautiful full of wild life and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Wish I could of stayed longer.
