Pros - location, Cons- salt water in bathroom, old hotel. Never stay again. The beach is nice. The food in the restaurant is ok. Room is spacious. Overall our stay was nice and calm, we spend Christmas night at the hotel. Dinner was super nice well organised and a lot of food variety. Kitchen staff were amazing very nice and friendly. On the other hand reception staff was a big disappointment. After checking out they will not move a finger to help with anything. All prices are very heigh in dollars. If you want to book any trips or taxi try to book not with the hotel, will be much cheaper. Reception staff not helping at all. Also room service very slow, it takes them around 2 hours to clean 1 room, 4 people. Its a big question what are they going there and after such a long cleaning time all the bathroom products were missing so we had to request for it. Design is simple and nice but there are no deco in the rooms though. Feels no identity a bit and decoration is missing. Otherwise the stay was good and especially kitchen staff and food were really nice. Nicely laid out hotel. The food was excellent both for breakfast, poolside and dinner buffet. There was a problem with aircon when we arrived but this was fixed relatively quickly. Only downside was water in shower Luke warm. Pool temp was perfect for relaxing which was a nice change from other places we stayed. This hotel is an overpriced, under maintained facility, with passable food. It has a beautiful beach. But there are better places for the money they charge. They are the best actually.. This is in a great location. The staff are very very nice the rooms are big. The view is fantastic so is the beach. The only issue is the hotel needs is a good cleaning. I would stay again. The hotel is good - clean, nice and beautiful view. Everything was perfect Food, staff, location, etc.. It was smelly and the sink is clogged, poorly operating commode, etc Fantastic place right next to the sea. The staff are attentive and eager to please. The grounds are beautiful. We spent just over 2 weeks here and enjoyed every minute. The staff were accommodating in every way, the food was excellent and the resort well maintained. The only negatives I found were the bed was too hard and the Spa needs an overhaul and it would be good to have a gym at the property, apart from that highly recommend. We stayed here for three nights at the end of our two week trip around Sri Lanka. If we had paid full price we would have been slightly disappointed. The only thing this place is missing is a gym. The pool and beach right on your door step is picture perfect. Bentota is a quick and cheap Tuk Tuk drive away if you need anything from a store, otherwise there are only massage places and other resorts close by. You charge everything to your room so no cash is carried around. We ate every meal at the restaurant and were pleased with the selection and pricing - only a lil more expensive than other western restaurants in Sri Lanka. The staff were fantastic and even surprised us with a chocolate cake as a congratulations gift as we were celebrating our anniversary. I would stay here again without hesitation. It looked like the most modern and clean resort on this stretch sand. We stayed there 2 weeks in February Very good location right on the beach. Spacious room and bathroom. Amazing view from the balcony. Very good restaurant and breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a lovely stay. The staff were wonderful, very helpful, friendly and attentive. The pool and beach were perfect. I would recommend and hope to stay again. Very sad end of vocation. In the guset room, pillows and bed were dirty. A lot of yellow marks on it. Toilet was ok. Public areas: has only one swimming pool which was ok. Food were average. Staffs keep looking on us too close while we were having dinner which made me uncomfartable! The hotel was beautiful and our room was spot on! The weekend buffet breakfast was amazing! Lots of variety and the food was yum! However, the weekday Alacarte menu needs a lot more improving The staff were friendly ans lovely - except one of the younger pool staff who smoked and yelled at his colleague and was extremely rude to us! We informed the management I will defintley visiti again. Fantastic location and a great set up at this hotel. The staff couldnt do more to help and came round daily to show the fresh fish catch which could be prepared for dinner that evening. It is VERY noisy and our room was located below the building work. Expect to be woken at 7am every morning and the noise to continue until around 10pm. That was the only frustration I had with the hotel itself. The general manager lady was very kind and helpfull. Staffs are very humble and friendly. Good food and good sea view. Beautiful view of the sea from the comfort of your own private balcony, clean beaches with lounge chairs to enjoy the breeze from, lovely pool for a leisurely dip. The staffs were all very friendly and accomodating and i love the clean sleek decor. Only one gripe, please have local Sri Lankan food options available for dinner too, instead of just for lunch! Excellent hotel with a really long pool. Food is incredible and the bar staff are great fun and great at their job. Great value for money! Nice pool and beautiful beach. Overall it was a great stay! This family needs attention in a few areas. If the manager and accountant were as nice as the rest of the staff this would be an 'A' rate facility. They do not resolve problems effectively and neither do they understand their relationship with Agoda. I would rate them a 7. Everything is good except serving staf in the restaurant and Bar. Awsome rooms and great place to stay. Food : very very average menu n food. Though good option outside the hotel in mts. We had a very fantastic time here. The beach, actually private sort of beach is just a stone throw away. Loved our one night at Temple Tree. Great pools, sunset, dinner, and rooms. Bar and Dining Room staff exceptional! Delicious food according to your request. Friendly staff. Highly recommended. We got a nice room in the third floor with sea view. The room was clean and well maintained. The pool is clean and there is a bar right next to it, where you get a refreshing or a real coffee. The breakfast is ok but nothing special. After the third day we would have expected a variety, but it remains the same. But we saw that the prices are quite high for fresh fish you find better prices down the beach f. The food was lovely and the decoration was also nice. But we think the drinks should have been included in the price, at least soft drinks. Fireworks were started already at p. There was a DJ playing 80s hits, but he had to stop music at a. When we arrived they announced a party from dusk till dawn, we were obviously disappointed. Why taking care of families on that one night in the year, if they were informed in advance that there will be a party? After we complained several times thry started again music for another hour but the happiness was already gone. The fireworks started after midnight were so so, the surrounding restaurants got it better. Calm and quite.. Temple Tree Resort and Spa Nice hotel with a large swimming pool. The restaurant is airy. The food is expensive. Room is nice. Nice view of the beach and sea. No shower gel or box of tissue paper. TV channels is limited. All the 3 lady receptionists are nice with nice PR skills. There are red ants in the room throughout the stay even though housekeeping tried to clean properly. Got bitten a couple of times. The water in shower room does not drain towards the scupper but collect at a corner. The beach and sea are nice. Not crowded like Negombo. The hotel is by the main road. If the vehicles sounded their horns, it can be heard in the room. At this time, the 2nd and 3rd floor is under renovation.
