Cock Ring Sizes
By Rachel Worthington / May 03, 2022
Cock rings are certainly no one-size-fits-all sex toy!
After all, we’re all different, and what works well for one penis-owner may not for another.
That’s why we’ve put together this guide to finding your perfectly-sized cock ring .
In five steps, you can measure yourself and know exactly what size cock ring to look for, either a big cock ring or a small cock ring (or medium-sized, of course).
Materials You’ll Need: string, ruler/tape measure, marker.
It’s best to use a string rather than wrapping a tape measure directly around your penis. The measurements for your cock ring sizing will be more accurate and precise, and the whole process will be a lot less awkward!
Step 1: Decide where you want to wear the cock ring, as this will affect where you measure. The most common way is to wear it around the penis, behind the testicles , but you can also wear one on your shaft in front of the testicles, or even around the glans near the tip of the penis.
Step 2: Start off with a flaccid penis. Wrap the string around where you’ll wear your cock ring (e.g. around your penis, behind the testicles or in front) . It should feel quite snug, but not uncomfortable or painful. You should be able to just about fit a finger between the string and your skin.
Step 3: Make a mark on both sides of the string where they meet. It’s easier to have some string left over on both ends and make a mark on both sides, rather than trying to measure where one end of the string meets the other side.
Step 4: Measure the distance between the two marks with a ruler or tape measure. This will give you the circumference of your ideal size of cock ring.
Step 5: Now do the same thing with an erect penis. This time, the string should feel comfortably tight, and you shouldn’t be able to fit a finger in between the string and your skin. Mark the string and then measure the distance between the marks.
Your two circumference measurements of your flaccid and erect penis should match (or, at least, be very similar). If they don’t, you have two options:
Some cock rings are measured by circumference, while others go by the diameter.
To find the diameter, you’ll unfortunately have to do a bit of math. Just take the circumference measurement, and divide it by pi (that’s 3.142).
Or, take the easier route and go to this website that will calculate it for you!
The above method works well for sizing all cock rings, especially those made of stiffer materials like metal cock rings or silicone cock rings .
However, those are not your only option!
There are a whole host of cock rings available these days, including many with adjustable sizes.
Adjustable cock rings are an ideal solution for first time cock ring-wearers, as well as those who aren’t sure about their size.
There are a couple of different types, including:
These penis rings are super simple to use — just start off with it loose and place it where you want it to sit on your penis. Then slide the bead to make it tighter until you find a snug but comfortable fit. Lasso-style cock rings are beginner-friendly and versatile, too, so you can try out different positions until you find what suits you.
Another option for versatility is a cock ring with adjustable snaps. Simply change up the tightness by switching up the number of snaps you use. These often come as leather cock rings (or faux leather), so you can really look and feel the part.
If you’re unsure about sizing or tightness, you could also opt for a super stretchy cock ring . These are easy to put on and will provide a snug fit without being overly constrictive, thanks to flexible and stretchy materials like TPE. Plus, there’s no danger of them coming loose mid-session.
A cock ring’s main function is to stop blood flowing away from the penis when you’re erect.
That may sound a little scary, but it actually results in harder, longer-lasting erections!
That’s why they’re often a great aid for those dealing with erectile dysfunction. They can also make you more sensitive down there, and look bigger, too — truly a renaissance sex toy!
The thing is that these magical effects only really happen if your cock ring is the right size…
If your cock ring isn’t tight enough, there just won’t be enough pressure on the blood vessels in the penis to restrict the blood from flowing away.
Plus, a penis ring that’s too big has a big chance of coming loose, or even falling off completely.
Not quite the sexy experience you were hoping for!
Then, there’s a cock ring that’s too tight.
While cock rings are totally safe to use when sized and used properly, wearing an overly tight cock ring can mean bad news for your penis. A penis ring that’s too tight can end up restricting too much blood flow, and can lead to penile strangulation .
Warning signs to look for when wearing a cock ring include:
If you notice any of these, you should remove your cock ring immediately, which will allow your blood flow to return to normal. However, keep an eye on your penis, and seek medical advice if any symptoms persist.
However, you can easily catch a too-tight cock ring before it gets to a dangerous point. Cock rings are meant to be put on when flaccid, so that as you become erect, you can notice if your ring is uncomfortably tight before it becomes hard to take off.
If you want to use a ball stretches , testicle rings or a type of cock and ball torture toy this is not the guide to measure for that.

An important part of purchasing a penis ring is making sure that it fits properly. It should be tight enough to restrict the penile blood flow, but not too tight as to cause damage to the penis . To deal with this, you need to have an understanding of how cock ring sizing works.
When choosing a cock ring, there isn’t a single set of guidelines that suits everyone. Different manufacturers all have their own stats for their own products, and things might not translate from one company to another. Either the measurements or tension levels of the rings may differ even if it still says large or medium.
If you already owned cock rings and decide to start using a different manufacturer then it may take a little trial and error to find your new appropriate size. The size of a cock ring is usually measured in diameter. The size of the cock ring should be slightly smaller than the diameter of your penis.
Obviously, it’s very difficult to measure the diameter of your own penis. You should instead measure the circumference (the measurement around the edge of the penis). This can then be converted into diameter with some calculations. There are many tools online that can help with this.
Unless you buy a metal cock ring, there will be some give to the cock ring. This means even with rings that are slightly too small you should still be able to wear them. If you don’t want to worry too much about finding the exact right size, then picking up an adjustable cock ring can make the whole process much easier.
When measuring yourself for a cock ring, it’s important to be erect as the penis is much bigger at this point. You should measure the part you plan to put the ring around (most often the base of the penis). If you don’t have a flexible measuring tape to use, you can use a piece of string instead. Wrap the string around the penis and mark on it with a pen where the string crosses over. Then lay it flat next to a ruler and see where your mark ends up.
If you plan on buying a cock and ball ring , the process of measuring is very similar, with one key difference. Rather than just measuring around the base of the penis, you need to measure around the shaft and the entire scrotum. You can do this several times to make sure you have an accurate measurement.
Even if buying an adjustable cock ring it’s still important to have a rough idea of your measurements. These cock rings have minimum and maximum diameters, so if your penis circumference doesn’t fall within these numbers the ring won’t fit no matter how much you adjust it.
This measurement is much more important when buying a metal cock ring . Plastic or latex cock rings will have more give, so a slightly inaccurate measurement won’t be the end of the world. Metal rings are completely rigid though, so an inaccurate measurement will be much worse. These types of cock rings are not recommended for beginners.
If you feel any discomfort or pain while wearing your cock ring, you should remove it immediately and check your measurements were correct. If you don’t want to waste lots of money buying several cock rings, it’s important to get your measurements correct before buying.
Remember that these are only rough estimates, and it might vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer. The only way to be sure is to take your own measurements and compare them to the manufacturers guidelines.

Proper fit is critical. If you aren't sure what size is best for you, take the time to measure and calculate.
A tailor's measuring tape is ideal. If you have none, you will need a string at least o ne foot long, a ruler and a marking pen. Now, make yourself erect.
You can measure in inches, centimeters or millimeters.
If using a tailor's tape, simply encircle it from under your balls up and around the top of the penis. Pull the tape until you have a very snug fit, but not an uncomfortable choke. Note the measurement.
If using a string, encircle it the same way. Pull the ends to get a really snug fit. Mark the string on both sides where they meet. Remove the string and measure between the marks.
A more accurate measurement is sometimes taken when flaccid, so take several readings in varied states of soft, hard and semi-erect.
Remember, pull your string/tape really tight, but not to where it's uncomfortable. If you aren't sure if you're pulling tightly enough, use the One Finger Rules:
• When soft you should be able to JUST fit one finger under the string.
• When hard you should NOT be able to fit even one finger under the string.
input your measurements into the calculator below. If you measured in inch fractions, first convert the fractions into decimals. If you need help converting, see the conversion chart at the bottom of this page.
Use the same procedure for three additional measurements:
• around the penis, just over the glans head
• around the shaft of the penis, at the base
• around the scrotal sac, above the testicles
Head and shaft rings can be worn when soft or partially or fully erect. Many guys like to have several sizes, and choose which to wear depending on their anticipated arousal state. Inside diameters 7/8 to 1-3/8 inch (20mm to 35mm) are the most popular sizes.
The scrotal sac measurement will be useful for choosing a ball stretcher. Most sizes fall between 30 and 40mm, and 35mm is the standard size used by many manufacturers.
• Now that you know your correct sizes, visit our how to choose a cock ring page for guidance on making your first and future selections.

Tips For Measuring
Most guys are in the 40mm-50mm range.
55mm is a pretty big ring. So if you're not bigger than average, try measuring again and make sure you pull the string tight.
If you have a good-fitting round ring, MEASURE ANYWAY. You may find your Primal ring size is 5mm (~.2 in) smaller than your round ring size. Our keyhole shape fits a bit looser than a round ring with the same diameter.
Measure twice! Due to the intimate nature of these rings, we can't accept returns or exchanges.

The World's Best-Fitting Cock Rings
Gather Your Supplies. You'll need a piece of string and a ruler to get your measurement. We recommend using a string instead of trying to use a soft tape measure.
Measure. Wrap the string around your penis and behind your balls. Mark the string where it meets. You want the string quite snug. You should be able to just fit a finger between your skin and the string when you're soft. And it should be comfortably tight when you're hard so that you can't fit in a finger. You may want to measure both soft and hard to double-check your size.
Determine Your Size. Measure the distance from the end of the string to the mark. This is the circumference. Use the handy table below to get your size.
The most important thing to remember when putting on your ring is:
The Primal 'P' should face up and away from you (so other people can read it!).
Remember: Safety first! Do not wear a ring that is too tight, and remove the ring immediately if you feel discomfort, a sensation of coolness, observe any changes in color, bleeding, or feel tingling or numbness. If in doubt, take it off. Men with pre-existing genital conditions or injuries, or those taking anticoagulants should consult their physician prior to use. Cock rings should not be worn for more than 30 minutes, and you should not sleep in a ring.
