Claudine Mishra is the first woman to have become a professional Russian-speaker. She was born in Moscow in 1982, her father is a Russian, her mother is an American. In her childhood she lived in New York, but later came back to Moscow. Her mother died when she was still a child, so she has lost her contact with her parents. She started studying Russian in school, but quickly realized that she didn't like the language. She began to write poems in Russian and became a poet.
