Classical Christian Education: A Traditional Christian Alternative to the Satanic School System

Classical Christian Education: A Traditional Christian Alternative to the Satanic School System

The Holy League ☦🇻🇦

Many traditionalists believe that homeschooling is the last safe refuge for giving your children a good education without being force-fed LGBT propaganda, feminism, "white guilt" and other nonsense the modern world throws in our face. Now, homeschooling is great (fully endorse) but there's also another alternative which few are aware of: Classical Christian Education.

So, before we delve into anything else, what exactly is the "classical approach" to education?

An article by Spirit 1053 writes:

As the extract says, the classical approach to education was the primary form of schooling "until the mid-1900’s". So, funnily enough, before everyone started becoming increasingly stupid.

The modern day Classical Christian education incorporates all of this but in a Christ-centred curriculum. Classical Christian schools teach all subjects based on the principle that God exists, and therefore all knowledge is interrelated and points back to Him. As 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says:

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."

So, a proper Christian education is supposed to arm students with knowledge and facts, the ability to think in terms of abstractions and to reason and discern between different ideas, and finally how to present one's ideas in conversations and make convincing arguments in defence of Biblical truth.

The teaching model used in classical education is called the "Trivium" and it does exactly that!

The Westminster Classical Christian Academy (WCCA) explains:

As you see, the Classical Christian education system doesn't show children what to think, like public schools do, but rather how to think – something quite rare these days!

But more importantly, it's the kind of education that spares your child the horrors of the contemporary school system. Instead of learning why a man can become a woman, you study the great classical works of the likes of Plato and Aristotle and later Christian thinkers such as St. Augustine of Hippo, St. John Chrysostom and Thomas Aquinas. Instead of being "educated" about how you're inherently evil for having white skin, you're trained in the use of Latin and Greek. Instead of being taught vices like homosexuality and abortion, you're shown how to live as a God-fearing Christian who hates sin.

A study by the University of Notre Dame found that graduates of ACCS schools (Association of Classical Christian Schools) are far more likely to stay steadfast in their faith compared to graduates of other educational institutions.

And ACCS school performance is also extremely impressive:

PSAT Scores: Class of 2019
ACT Scores: Class of 2019
SAT Scores by Type of High School
SAT Performance Relative to College & Career Readiness Benchmark

So, if you're stuck wondering how you're going to educate your kids then hopefully this piece has shown you that there are alternatives to the satanic school system, especially for those living in countries where homeschooling is illegal. Classical Christian education is a great option, and a growing one, as increasingly more schools that are teaching the traditional method of learning are popping up all over the world. And even if you don't intend to send your children to a classical school, there's many great resources online that show you how to give them a Classical Christian education at home.
