I ordered a turkey provolone and it was absolutely the best sub I've ever had in my life. Had to make sure to leave a yelp review so that other people know. Friendly staff. Huge selection of chips. So happy I stopped by. Total gem!
I've always known this place for their Sloppy Joe's- the beat in the area hands down. Today I came for breakfast and hand the best breakfast sandwich I've had in years. Coffee is great too. Yum!!!

I just started working in Madison so of course I need to start eating good places. My co worker ordered me an Italian sub from here and omg sooo goood. It was not drenched in oil and vinegar and the amount of meat was perfect. Bread was nice and soft. Flavors were superb. I wish I could compliment more but all I got was the sandwich but it was sooo good.
CJ's deli you'll anything good there is a sloppy Joe's everything else is just OK nothing great you've been there forever he's post to be signing the place forever and he still working which is fine but don't expect anything from the food other than the sloppy Joe's sloppy Joe's are the best yellow food you can keep it
I had high hopes for this sandwhich but I was overall very disappointed with this sandwhich. Let me start by saying that the staff is really nice and very approachable. I let them know that I was a tomatoe allergy and the lady taking my order, walked it back to the gentleman making the sandwhich. I saw him change his gloves before he started on my sandwhich. The meat to bread ratio was off. I felt like I had too much bread to meat. Also I asked for very light vinegar and I got the total opposite. The sandwhich was so sour that after a two bits it ended up in the trash. I can't speak for everthing that they make, but this visit was a miss for me and I am not sure that I will return.
A friend, originally from Madison & whose taste I respect, said this is her favorite deli & they make the best Sloppy Joe. Went twice, first for breakfast where I had a wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerse… (pictured); it was okay, but I've had much better. Returned another day for lunch & a wikipedia.org/wiki/Slopp… (pictured); it was meh at best; I've had better, including @ yelp.com/biz/irvings-del… (which did cost much more, but was much better); primarily, the meat lacked any distinctive character & likely wasn't house-made. For a good deli sandwich using house-made charcuterie, try yelp.com/biz/mimis-delic… - just a mile down the road.
Good service, good sandwiches, good prices, and conveniently located in Madison. I tried the grilled cheese, Italian, and BLT and all were good. Would definitely go again

Old school deli. You feel as though you are walking into a Soprano's episode. A few seats on the side. Walk to the back to order. It's a basic sandwich menu, as it should be. They are solid. Good bread, quality meats and super service. Everyone is friendly. Getting back to the Soprano's episode, they even have the Italian paper...who would have thunk. Anyhoot, their breakfast sandwiches are banging. Loads of Taylor Ham and the hard roll is warm and soft...drool. Prices are great. Their coffee is good. Find a seat at the 10 or so seats at the counter and ENJOY! Better yet take it to go and ENJOY!
