Civil Framework of the Internet

Civil Framework of the Internet

Jack Prabha

The ease of manipulating data and information on the internet paves the way for criminals, who often manage to get away with it. Leakage of private conversations until invasions of bank accounts, the internet was until then seen as a lawless land, which could not continue.

However, there is still an enormous difficulty for regulatory means and the State itself to understand digital communications and interpret them in ethical laws for the population and companies. In order to bring more security to users and ensure punishment for cybercriminals, the Marco Civil da Internet was created .

In August 2011, PL 2126/11 was presented , which would become known as Marco Civil da Internet. Basically, the bill aims at stipulating guidelines for rights, duties, principles and guarantees for the use of the internet in national territory.

Contrary to what many may think, Marco Civil da Internet does not only impact telecommunications companies, digital businesses, entertainment, technology startups, digital education, etc. Perhaps the impact on these segments is greater, but all companies need to adapt.

To continue using the internet to their advantage, companies need to apply techniques to adapt to Marco Civil and ensure the confidentiality of users' information.
