Cisco SecureX: Corporate security is best seen from the cloud

To cope with the increase in the number and nature of cyber attacks, in a situation where the diversification of IT infrastructure between on-prem, cloud , mobile and IoT multiplies the attack surface, companies often find themselves managing a number growing number of cybersecurity solution providers . The result, often, is that the number of alarms and signals increases (up to tens of thousands per day), without necessarily corresponding to a greater awareness of the actual situation of one's network.

How CISOs Measure Security Performance

Precisely the speed with which it is possible to become aware of an attack (the " time to detect "), is among the KPIs considered most important by the CISOs who responded to the 2020 CISO Benchmark Report survey launched by CISCO. The time to detect is in fact very often the factor that most influences the parameter that matters to the Board, that is the time taken to solve the problem (time to remediate).

Also from the CISO Benchmark Report it emerges that on average companies adopt 20 different technologies for security. For 20 percent of respondents, managing multiple vendors proves very challenging, with 42 percent of respondents suffering from what has been termed a “ cybersecurity fatigue ”: giving up on keeping up with cyber threats and criminals.
