In collaboration with a number of project stakeholders, five Universities, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), CIRE is excited to assist in the project coordination for the Upper Missouri River Basin (UMRB) Snowpack and Soil Moisture Monitoring Mesonet Network.
This project, spanning Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, and the Dakotas, is designed to retrofit and install new snowpack and soil moisture monitoring stations throughout the UMRB. Each state has a Mesonet represented by a State University, like the University of Montana, and CIRE has been tasked to coordinate deliverables, milestones, data, and general project goals amongst the stakeholders and Mesonets. See more on the project at: https://bit.ly/3kJnRD8 .
CIRE, in partnership with various entities around the U.S., has spent the last 4 years completing invasive species management projects in an increasingly large variety of scenarios. From swamps to grasslands, CIRE has been applying successful treatments for the DoD throughout the Continental United States.
CIRE has partnered with the University of Montana's Bird Ecology Lab (UMBEL) and the Wildlife Biology department to form a natural resource survey team that will be working on flora and fauna surveys at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia and Andrews AFB in Maryland over the next year.
The teams will be surveying for rare and endangered species while on-site. Locations included that are outside the base proper will be: Big Bethel Resevoir, Davidsonville, and Brandywine. If you're interested in these types of surveys, please contact the CIRE Office.
CIRE's Wildland Fire Support Module (WSM) at Beale AFB in California continues to expand its team. Over the last year, the Beale WSM has received numerous awards from the Air Force Wildland Fire Branch in addition to the module leader, Tony Velasquez.
Tony received high accomodations from the State of California, base leadership at Travis and Beale Air Force Bases, and local partners like the Marysville Fire District. Jose Jimenez, one of CIRE's Fire Operations Technicians, also received high praise and a superior performer award this year. The WSM's efforts to integrate with the FES teams, environmental teams, and local fire districts have paved the way for a very successful year at Beale AFB! Go Griz!!
The Center for Integrated Research on the Environment (CIRE) brings world-class applied research methods and management practices to many natural and cultural projects under federal, state, and tribal jurisdictions.
One of CIRE's primary goals is to help the Department of Defense maintain mission readiness by completing various projects and tasks. To that end, CIRE directly oversees or has direct access to research laboratories and cutting-edge field equipment across the University of Montana, specializing in many areas such as:
The CIRE Director, Project Managers, and Faculty Partners have collectively published over 1,000 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious international journals and books and are world leaders in their respective fields. In addition to the CIRE and UM Team, CIRE draws from a broad array of professionals in academia and consulting firms to form an extensive network of colleagues and collaborators worldwide.

Specializing in Net Lease Properties Nationwide
CIRE Partners is a full service investment firm comprised of highly skilled professionals assisting the most successful and active owners and investors in the market.
We mentor highly talented investment associates in the industry and offer them a unique team platform and entrepreneurial culture.
“In 2017 I purchased a NNN property that was listed by CIRE Partners. The team was so great to work with, and they still offer me their support to this day if I ever need anything. They’re always on top of the latest events in the market, and are truly a source I depend on to guide me.” - The Avitt Family Trust
“CIRE Partners has provided great service to both me and my investors over the last 5-6 years since I've had them represent us in buying and selling several NNN properties over that period of time. They have handled and advised on all aspects of the transaction competently, which included the purchase and sale, 1031 exchanges, and even coordinating and recommending financing options. But most importantly, after the transactions were completed and even several years after that time, they assisted us when negotiating lease renewals and resolving any other issues, spending countless hours at no cost. They have done this not only for the properties they were involved with but for other properties in our portfolio that existed prior to their involvement. Both me and my investors strongly recommend the team at CIRE Partners without any reservations.” - TMA Partners
“CIRE Partners has represented us with several NNN lease transactions since 2004. They have proven again and again that their professionalism, knowledge, passion and integrity are above their peers in the commercial real estate industry. The brokers are incredibly hardworking, who spend a lot of time collecting valuable information within the CRE industry, besides just buying and selling. We have found that this is very rare with most CRE brokers, since it doesn’t really generate immediate income for them by doing so. However, the team at CIRE Partners continually provides their clients with firsthand information in order to make the most critical investment decisions and have peace of mind. We highly recommend CIRE Partners out of our 16 years of investment experience.” - The Huang Family Trust
“The team at CIRE Partners is the most dedicated and hardworking people that I have had the pleasure of doing business with. They are quick to respond to requests and consistently update us throughout the deal process. I am convinced that they work 24/7! They are courteous and go the extra mile without being asked. They continually exceed our expectations.” - The Cho Family Trust
