Christmas with Goalscape

Christmas with Goalscape

Veronika Leleka

There is only one app that I have never cancelled my subscription to. And honestly, nothing motivates me to achieve my goals like it does!

I found it by accident, about 6 years ago. And I'm still loyal to it.

It's Goalscape!

Why do I love it so much?

Besides being a great tool for planning and monitoring progress, Goalscape has also destroyed my procrastination.

And here's what my Christmas plans look like when I use it.

Step 1.

Create a goal and break it down into components.

Step 2.

Break it down into smaller tasks! And then into even smaller ones! With Goalscape you can do it until you get bored. Or until you understand every single detail of the future work.

When we break down a big goal into simple and understandable steps, it usually becomes less overwhelming and intimidating. It's an easy way to fight procrastination.

Step 3.

Add colour.

Step 4.

Prioritise!

Achieving goals is way more effective when you know which actions are the most important and will bring the most benefit. In my experience, it is difficult to deal with a task of 5% importance while a task of 40% is still waiting.

Step 5.

My favourite part: progress!

When you mark a task as completed in Goalscape, it doesn't disappear from the list like almost everywhere else. Instead, you can immediately see the impact it's having on your goal!

It's this mechanism that makes me addicted to Goalscape. I know that every action I take will be an investment in a greater goal. And Goalscape will show me exactly how big this investment is!

So, every time I take on a new task, I already anticipate the progress on the graph. And voila - dopamine, motivation, my best performance!

Step 6.

Let’s stay realistic.

Of course, the End of the Year Report is more important than Harry Potter. It’s a disappointing fact.

And we immediately see how changing our priorities affects the level of overall goal achievement. Now it's only 47% instead of the previous 56%.

Goalscape can be easily used for personal goals and projects, as well as for professional ones. It's an Agile tool, so if necessary, you can set deadlines, assign responsibilities, add hashtags, attach documentation, chat with the team... There's even a Gantt chart if you need one!

Six years ago, I didn't know what a Gantt chart was. But even then, it was my favourite app. Although I have tested many others, it remains the best one for me. I plan my Christmas Harry Potter marathons only there!

So, if you're looking for a great tool to plan and track your progress towards your ambitious goals, check out Goalscape!

It could be just what you need.

P. S. Don't forget your annual report. Work first, then movies.

Merry Christmas!
