Christmas Disco Gala

On the 8th of December, while some toastmasters were at the International Winter Conference in Moscow, Toastmasters in Warsaw went to Christmas Disco Gala. This yeas Christmas party was joint - polish speaking club Top Careers united with English speaking club Toastmasters Polska SA to have a great party. 🎉

Topic of the party was Disco - 80s and 90s. Toastmasters were very responsible with their costumes: everything was shining and sparkling, and almost every woman had curly hair.

Organizing Committee rented half of the club in the center of Warsaw and we weren’t interrupted by strangers. After entering the party you got a coin to get any drink at the bar: with alcohol or not. 🍷🤩

All ghe party was half in Polish and half in English. In yhe beginning two clubs were awsrding people with different nominations and presents. My club Toastmasters Polska SA decided to present not usual boring Oscars, but funny Cactus and photo frame to each nominant. Surprisingly I won one award - a debut of the year 2018!

There were plenty of food: dishes changes two times and there were many snacks. But what shocked my most was the main course - borsch (red cabbage soup) and mushroom soup. 🤨😱

Later on I was told that this is a traditional dish for Christmas Parties in Poland.

When official part was over Dancing part started. We all had fun dancing to the music from 80s and 90s. Mostly I remember Macarena dance - it was super funny 🕺🏼

Apart from dancing everyone was talking with each other and taking photos. The atmosphere was very friendly. Though half of the people was speaking in Polish, no one felt lonely. The only thing that could have been better - the place was quite small for 50 people.

On that day there was also a birthday of one of our members and we congratulated him with the cake and song. 🎉

The party continued with the karaoke contest. All people were very active and were singing song in English and Polish! 🎤

At the party we also chose the King and the Queen of the party and of course the winner of the karaoke contest. Party lasted till late night... hope it’s not my last party in Warsaw, because here toastmasters know how to have fun!
