The Real Reason Christina Hendricks Refuses To Do A Nude Scene

With her curvaceous figure and form-fitting outfits in the AMC hit Mad Men , Christina Hendricks became a modern-day 50s bombshell with her role as the femme fatale with a heart of gold, Joan Holloway. The Marilyn Monroe comparisons started instantly, and although she told Parade in 2010 that no "woman in the world could get tired" of hearing that, Hendricks admitted she "could never hold a candle" to the Hollywood icon.
We assume that was the former model's way of telling the media to stop focusing on her body. That same year, Hendricks lamented that her breakout role was reduced to conversations about her hourglass shape. "It kind of hurt my feelings at first," she told New York magazine (via Jezebel ). "Anytime someone talks about your figure constantly, you get nervous, you get really self-conscious. I was working my butt off on the show, and then all anyone was talking about was my body!"
However, in a 2012 interview with BlackBook , Hendricks thanked her character's in-your-face sexuality for giving her confidence. "She was very openly saying, I have sex, and I don't care if you judge me," she said. "I'm not going to apologize for who I am. Those qualities resonated with people."
Christina Hendricks' time on Mad Men might have given her newfound confidence in her body, don't expect that to translate to the screen any time soon. "My husband makes me feel sexy, and I've always been comfortable in my own skin, but I'm really just a girl who would prefer talking about my acting than my body," she explained.
"I'm a very comfortable naked person," she continued. "Not in front of other people, but at home and in front of my husband, I feel good not wearing clothes."
We say hats off to Hendricks for her bold stance. And her husband , obviously.

Christina Hendricks has denied that a picture of her topless, which is currently circulating the internet, is of her.
The 36-year-old's representation have told website TMZ that images of the actress wearing barely any clothes and gazing into the camera are of her, but a snap of her pulling down her top to reveal her bare breasts is not.
They also confirm to the website that Hendricks is in fact the victim of phone-hacking.

The TV star is said to not know who hacked her phone, but her people have alerted authorities and a case has been opened.
The statement comes after a hacker claiming to have broken into the Mad Men star's cell phone leaked pictures across the internet today that showed the actress in a series of compromising poses.
One photo showed Christina wearing lingerie and gazing into the camera.
Another shows the make-up free redhead wearing a pair of glasses and long sleeved tan shirt.
The hacker also posted pictures purported to show the actress pulling down her top to reveal her bare breasts, which Hendricks and her people have said is the 'phony' picture.

Christina, who has been busy promoting the upcoming fifth season of Mad Men, is the latest in a long line of celebrities who have had their mobile phones hacked.
In November a Florida man pleaded not guilty to hacking into the email and cell phone accounts of 50 people including Christina Aguilera, Mila Kunis and Scarlett Johansson, whose nude photos eventually landed on the Internet.
Christopher Chaney, 35, of Jacksonville, Fla., Chaney was arrested on October 9th after a yearlong FBI investigation of celebrity hacking that U.S. authorities dubbed 'Operation Hackerazzi.' If convicted, Chaney faces up to 121 years in prison.

As Mad Men's Joan Holloway her hourglass curves have caused a sensation in her tight Sixties dresses but until recently her fans have only been able to fantasise about what lies beneath Christina Hendricks' costumes.
Images of Christina have previously been unearthed from her short-lived U.S. sci-fi series Firefly from 2002, in which viewers got to see a lot more of her famous figure.
The then unknown Christina played seductive con woman Saffron, who shared a naked kiss with Captain Malcolm Reynolds on their wedding night. The shots show her topless in bed, waiting for her new husband.
While Firefly was short-lived, Christina has since seen her role in Mad Men make her a star, and has been credited with reawakening fashion designers to the beauty of the female body, with curve enhancing designs returning to the runway in her wake.
In 2010 it was reported that the voluptuous star was keen to break into movies but was adamant she wouldn't be taking her clothes off.

'Christina is riding the crest of a wave right now and the offers are flooding in,' a source close to the star said at the time.
'She would love to do more movies and is in the process of considering projects to tie in with the show’s hiatus. She has noticed though that a good number of roles she’s being offered require her to go nude.
'Clearly everyone wants to see more of Christina but she doesn’t want to be over exposed in the wrong way.'

Christina Hendricks, the veteran actress has been all over Hollywood for years and she has still retained her stardom. Hendricks started her career in the late ’90s with the series Beggars and Choosers. The comedy-drama was a very popular show of that time.

After a successful modeling career she jumped to the acting industry thus appearing in Beggars and Choosers. Her next series was Kevin Hill in 2004-05. But the biggest break that she got was in the series Mad Men. She was the lead role in the series from beginning to end for 8 years.
After the series ended in 2015, she signed another series named Another Period followed by Hap and Leonard and The Neon Demon. In her career, Hendricks was nominated for 6 Emmy Awards and won two Screen Actors Guild and two Critic’s Choice. Esquire magazine named her the sexiest woman in the world.
