She received severe injuries, including 18 broken bones, had several teeth knocked out, a broken nose, suffered liver damage from being kicked, and had several knife wounds; she later had to have facial reconstruction surgery. He was charged with 29 felony counts, including attempted murder. In 2017 he was convicted of kidnapping and sexual assault with a weapon and sentenced to an aggregate total of life in prison, with the possibility of parole in 36 years.
