Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7th 1963, in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a religious family with loving, dedicated parents. He is the child of Elder T.E Oyakhilome who was one of the founders of the Assemblies to God Church in Benin City. Angelina and the matriarch Oyakhilome were also his parents. Her divine grace was passed down to her son at an early age.
The LoveWorld ministry is a collaborative effort between the families. Reverend Ken is Ken's older brother and is a member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council. KattyWorghiren (KattyWorghiren) is the director at the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry. This organization has many gospel artists who are top-selling globally.
Pastor Chris has two daughters: Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon decided to follow in her father's footsteps of sharing the Word of God to all people. The name is CSO (Community Service Organization), she is a talented gospel singer and is a part of the LoveWorld Music and Arts community.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome studied at Edo College before winning a scholarship to study architecture at Bendel State University, known in the present as Ambrose Ali University, where the student earned a BSc in Architecture. He also received an honorary Doctor of Science award. He also has an honorary doctorate of divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was the place where he sensed God calling him to be a minister to the Lord.

The Man of God created what would eventually become one of the largest church congregations in the world when He was still a student at university, with an unassuming prayer group known as "Youth for Christ," which eventually evolved into the most popular organizations of its type on campus. It also served as the foundation of the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated with millions of followers around the globe.
Under the leadership of Pastor Chris, LoveWorld became a pioneer of satellite television and Christian programming. LoveWorldSAT is the first Christian TV station to broadcast from Africa 24/7 a day, on free-to air networks.
