Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7th, 1963, in Edo State in Nigeria. He was raised in a family of faith with loving, committed parents. He is the oldest son of elder T.E Oyakhilome. Angelina, one of the early pioneers of the Assemblies of God's Church in Benin City, as well as the matriarch of Oyakhilome's Oyakhilome clan, who instilled her divine grace in her son very early.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome began his education at Edo College. After a scholarship was awarded to pursue a degree in architecture at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Ali University), he was awarded an BSc degree in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. He also has awarded an honorary doctorate in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was his first university. He received his calling from God to be a minister and serve the Lord.
