Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on December 7 7 1963 in Edo State, Nigeria, was raised in a family of faith, surrounded by loving and devoted parents. He was the oldest of four children born to Elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the first pioneers of the Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina, and the mother of the Oyakhilome family who imprinted her divine grace upon her son from a young age.

Pastor Chris is the father of two daughters: Carissa Sharon (Charlene) and Chris. Carissa Sharon decided to follow in her father's footsteps of sharing the Word of God to all people. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome studied at Edo College before winning a scholarship to study architecture at Bendel State University, known now as Ambrose Ali University, where the student earned a BSc in Architecture and an honorary Doctor of Science award. His small prayer group, called 'Youth for Christ' would eventually become one of campus' most well-known groups.
