Chloerydr
A magical adventure series from Bloomsbury
The Princess Ponies books are written to give adventure-loving little girls an alternative to Barbie and Disney Princesses. The heroine of the series, Philippa (Pippa) MacDonald, is a head-strong action heroine who makes friends and strives to save the day.
I hope you love reading these books as much as I’ve loved writing them.
It’s Halloween, and Pippa can’t wait to go trick-or-treating. But before the festivities get underway, Cloud appears to tell Pippa that, back in Chevalia, a mysterious pumpkin-headed ghost is haunting Stableside Castle! Pippa joins forces with her best friend, Princess Stardust, to figure out if the fabled pumpkin ghost is real . . . or if someone is up to a little bit of Halloween mischief! Can they get to the bottom of this spooky mystery?
On an enchanted island far, far away, princess ponies can talk and play. Eight golden horseshoes give the ponies their magic, but when the shoes go missing from the castle, only a true pony lover can save the princesses and their home.
Pippa loves ponies, but she’s never had one of her own. Then one summer day, magical seahorses take Pippa to an island where ponies can talk. The first pony she meets is Princess Stardust and they become friends right away. When Pippa learns about the missing horseshoes, she wants to help save the pony island. But Stardust is a trouble maker and she just wants to play. Can Pippa and Stardust work together to find the golden horseshoes?
It’s field day on pony island and Princess Stardust’s best friend Blossom is competing. Stardust wants to cheer her on, but she knows she and Pippa should keep looking for the missing horse shoes. Will Stardust have to choose between her old friend and her new friend? Or is it okay to have two best friends?
It’s Harvest Day on the magical island of Chevalia. Pippa and her Princess Pony friend Stardust head to the grasslands to help – and to search for the missing horseshoes. Stardust decides that princesses shouldn’t get their hoofs dirty doing farm work. But is a missing horseshoe hidden in the fields?
When the second youngest Princess Pony, Honey, enters the forbidden Cloud Forest, Pippa and Princess Stardust know they must follow her. They find out Honey’s secret-a new unicorn friend! And when the unicorn mentions a magical tree in the middle of the forest, Pippa thinks there might be a golden horseshoe there. Are Pippa and Princess Stardust brave enough to face the fire-breathing dragonflies and other scary creatures of the Cloud Forest?
Three golden horseshoes are still missing. When Pippa and Princess Stardust head to the Wild Forest to search for them, they discover that grumpy Princess Cloud and her friend Cinders are not always as cranky as they seem! But no one expects to discover an enemy in their midst . . .
It’s Midsummer Day and Pippa and Princess Stardust are going on a very important journey to find the final golden horseshoe. It will take them to a dangerous part of the island, and they must be braver than ever before. The future of Chevalia is at stake.
Princess Stardust has come all the way from Chevalia to cheer Pippa on in her first big competition. But when Pippa arrives at the stables, her riding school pony friends are nowhere to be found. Stardust has an idea who is responsible . . . but for the show to go on, Pippa and Stardust must return to Chevalia!
Pippa is happy she’s been given a part in the school play, but she’s having trouble with her lines. She seeks inspiration in Chevalia from superstar songstress Diva-but someone has stolen Diva’s voice! Can Pippa and Stardust help Diva realize that she’s more than just her talent before the upcoming Royal Pony Gala?
It’s St. Patrick’s Day, but Pippa is having terrible luck at school. Even worse, Princess Stardust and the Pirate Ponies arrive to tell Pippa that trouble-making Divine has cast a spell to steal all of Chevalia’s good luck, too. Pippa embarks on a journey across the high seas of Chevalia to win the ponies’ luck back. Along the way, she and her friends discover a mysterious island, where a new pony might be able to tell them exactly how to turn their luck around!

Chloe Ryder lives on a farm for thoroughbred and rescue horses. When she’s not caring for the horses, she rides them across the hills surrounding her house. Chloe is one of very few to know the true location of magical island Chevalia.
She is also the alter ego of Julie Sykes, award-winning author of over 60 books for children. Julie lives in Hampshire with her family and their pet wolf.
The Princess Ponies books are the result of a special collaboration between Julie & author Jeff Norton.
