When not filming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., 27-year-old Bennet is often modeling, as seen in the photo series above which shows her in a pair of white Calvin Klein underwear and a loose flannel shirt without a bra. She captioned the photos: “Adulting is ouch.”

Chloé Wang ( Chinese : 汪可盈 ; pinyin : Wāng Kěyíng ; born April 18, 1992), [1] known professionally as Chloe Bennet , is an American actress and singer. She starred as Daisy Johnson/Quake in the ABC superhero drama series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013–2020).
Chloe Bennet was born Chloé Wang on April 18, 1992, in Chicago , Illinois . [2] She is the daughter of Bennet Wang, [3] an investment banker [4] and Stephanie Crane, an internist . [5]
Bennet's mother is Anglo-American and her father is Chinese . [6] She has seven brothers: [7] four biological, two foster and one adopted; two are of African American ancestry and one is of Mexican and Filipino descent. [3] She attended St. Ignatius College Prep . [3]
In 2007, at age 15, Bennet moved to China to pursue a singing career, [4] under her birth name, Chloé Wang ( 汪 可 盈 ). [ citation needed ] While in China, Bennet lived with her paternal grandmother and studied Mandarin . [4] Back in the US, she released two singles, both in 2011: "Uh Oh" and "Every Day in Between". [8]
In 2010 she moved to Los Angeles, California . [4] Her first on-screen appearance was as a host for the short-lived TeenNick summer dance series The Nightlife . She appeared in the 2011 music video for South Korean band BIGBANG 's " Tonight ". [9] While pursuing an acting career in Hollywood, she changed her name to "Chloe Bennet," after having trouble booking gigs with her last name. According to Bennet, using her father's first name, rather than his last name avoids difficulties being cast as an ethnic Asian American while respecting her father. [6] [10]
From 2012 to 2013, she had a recurring supporting role in the ABC drama series Nashville as Hailey. [11] In December 2012, she was cast as a series regular on the ABC series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , [11] [12] [13] which premiered on September 24, 2013. Bennet portrayed a hacker known as Skye, who was revealed to be Daisy Johnson / Quake in the second season. [14] Bennet was awarded the "Visionary Award" by East West Players , the longest-running professional theater of color in the United States, on April 21, 2017, at their annual gala. [15] She dedicated her award "to all the little girls who want to be a superhero; I'm just a half Chinese girl from the southside of Chicago." [16]
In 2019, Bennet was cast in the lead role as Yi in the animated film Abominable . [17] She appeared in the 2020 film Valley Girl , a jukebox musical remake of the 1983 film of the same name , as Karen, the "Queen Bee". [18] The film was originally scheduled for release in June 2018, but was postponed due to controversy around one of its cast members, Logan Paul . [19]
In March 2021, she was cast as Blossom Utonium in the upcoming CW live-action pilot Powerpuff , alongside Dove Cameron as Bubbles and Yana Perrault as Buttercup. [20] However, after a decision to reshoot the pilot episode and subsequent scheduling conflicts, Bennet left the project in August 2021. [21]
"I think what's really dangerous with what, continuously, is happening with Asian-Americans in Hollywood is there's a narrative that white Hollywood, or just any other ethnicity really in Hollywood gives to Asian-Americans that, 'You're the butt of the joke.' They're determining that we're the nerds, that we're the shy girls or that the guy that can't be sexy because he's an Asian man."
—Bennet in a September 2017 interview for NPR [10]
In 2018, she revealed that she has had anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder since childhood. [22]
Bennet has described the American film and television industry as racist against Asian Americans and other people of Asian descent. In a 2016 interview, she noted, "Oh, the first audition I went on after I changed my name [from Wang to Bennet], I got booked. So that's a pretty clear little snippet of how Hollywood works." [23] In September 2017, after actor Ed Skrein stepped down from his role as Major Ben Daimio in the then-in production film Hellboy following backlash over the fact that Skrein, a white actor, was playing Daimio, a character who is Japanese-American in the Hellboy comics, Bennet wrote a since-deleted post on Instagram in which she applauded Skrein's decision, and addressed her own experiences as an actress of Asian descent in Hollywood, saying, "Changing my last name doesn't change the fact that my BLOOD is half Chinese, that I lived in China, speak Mandarin or that I was culturally raised both American and Chinese. It means I had to pay my rent, and Hollywood is racist and wouldn't cast me with a last name that made them uncomfortable." [23]
Main role; 134 episodes; Nominated – Choice Summer TV Actress (2019) [24]
Voice role; Episode: "Flight of the Feathers/Captain Hookity Hook"
What is Chloe Bennet up to nowadays? (minor NWH spoilers)

I personally believe her when she says she isn't in Secret Invasion. She wanted people to stop harassing her about it in person, (which, good lord, do not ever do that!), and nipping it in the bud is a potentially good way to do that.
It's still very early in the Secret Invasion filming schedule, so anything is possible, but I think at the time of her denial, she really was not at all clued into the project, and she's been pretty open in the past about her frustrations with Marvel Studios not acknowledging AoS. It wouldn't surprise me at all that she wouldn't be following what Marvel Studios is doing, especially if they aren't reaching out to her.
Also, I know Marvel Studios likes to play stuff close to the chest, but I think if she was cast in it in a significant role, it wouldn't be a secret. Plenty of casting news about Secret Invasion has already come out, and I don't know why Cobie Smulders would be openly announced but Chloe Bennet wouldn't be. Now, if she has a brief or surprise cameo, that's different.
Hope for everything, expect nothing.
MCU fans are downright annoying when it comes to actors denying involvement. Doesn’t matter what the actor says, they always insist they’re just covering their tracks and being cheeky. She was clearly upset/annoyed in her comments regarding the show and stated that she didn’t even know what the show was.
I mean they kept all the other 'surprise returning protagonist from other franchises' a secret for Jarvis, Daredevil, Kingpin, and both previous Spidermans, so it seems the kind of thing they like to keep secret for longer since they know it will be something more exciting for some.
She was in 2 movies that came out last year (Valley Girl and 5 Years Apart) & a hosting gig for some kind of virtual awards show. She also had covid last winter that knocked her out of commission for a couple months.
Yeah, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) are pretty standard practice in the film industry these days. I don't know why people keep asking actors about things they won't be able to confirm no matter what the true answer is.
I know she was in those movies, but they were filmed long before. 5 Years Apart was supposed to be out in 2019 and Valley Girl in 2018, so she wasn't working on that during last two years. Though I completely forgot about her having covid. Sorry about that.
They keep asking because people click on articles like "What Chloe Bennet thinks about rejoining the MCU" more than "what Chloe Bennet thinks about her last movie"
Those 2 movies were released in 2019 & 2020, so they were roughly filmed in 2018 and 2019 respectively. The significant thing that happened to her in 2021 was being tested positive on Jan 1, 2021 of COVID, being cast in PPG in March and scheduling conflict drop from PPG in August, though she didn't attend Elizabeth Henstridge's wedding in August. I don't know about the hosting gig though. She was also pictured with Lil Dicky in September in Cali.
LOL, this seems WAY TOO stalker-y, but I really idolize her, but of course not in a creepy way, just aware what might she be on about.
My take on it was that Powerpuff Girls probably wasn’t going to be good so she found a way out of it. They had already shot one pilot I believe and it was so bad that it was going to be cancelled, so this was attempt number two. I’d say either Chloe didn’t agree with the way they were heading or just didn’t want to be involved into that project anymore.
100% Actors lie… It’s literally their jobs. But I’d says she’s not going to be in it, it would have been more effective to just not address the rumours if they were hiding her involvement. Imagine fans hounding you about a project you are not a part of, you’d just want it to stop.
I agree, PPG wasn't going to be good and she could see that, so when she was given a chance to extend her contract she didn't. Elizabeth mentioned this about pilot season, when you film a pilot, you're not allowed to work on anything else in case your show gets picked up. She was given an out and she took it, in Hollywood you have to be smart about what you say as to not offend other potential job offers, but "scheduling conflicts" was clearly code for "I wanted to leave that sh*tshow."
Honestly, it seems like she's just not working, I think she's struggling to find steady work after AoS and Covid didn't help her career neither. AoS is pretty bottom of the barrel to start using for future Marvel Projects and the other shows in progress already have their main leads, at best she might get a cameo down the line. I truly had high hopes for her after AoS, she was kinda the perfect up and coming star for a while with a strong social media presence and the diversity card many shows are looking for, but I think her star is fading. The rest of the cast have at least found some work here and there, but other than a failed pilot, she's not really doing anything. She needs to find a job this upcoming pilot season or I doubt we'll really remember her name anymore.
The reason I believe her about Secret Invasion is because she responded to it in a story. Not an interview she couldn't get away from, but on social media that she could've just ignored. I do think we'll see her in something Marvel-related soon, but I think by the time she released that video, she'd heard nothing.
I mean I don't blame her for responding. If people are messaging you and harassing you about what's going on, you're going to get fed up with it after a while. Her saying that puts a stop to it to a certain point
She was ignoring the social media. What pushed her to respond was when people started harassing her about it in person , like when she was out grocery shopping & stuff.
I also don't know if tampon shopping would be a Disney-style cover story.
That being said after NWH and having glanced at the Secret Invasion storyline where it's about Fury having to recruit several characters from Agents of Shield, as lesser known superheroes he thinks wouldn't have been replaced by the skrulls, I reaaaally suspect that the cast will be coming back. It almost sounds like the reason Disney insisted it stay on the air before ABC even reviewed it was because they knew they wanted to do Secret Invasion one day.
Along with this other character being introduced recently, it realllly sounds like they're moving the pieces into position to do the comic storyline:
Nick Fury went into hiding. He learned that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine was plotting to extract S.H.I.E.L.D. pass-codes from him and kill him. Fury killed her first, after which she reverted to her true Skrull form. Fury came to the realization that an alien invasion was taking place.
Fury assembled a new team, a team he believed to not have been targets of the Skrull insurgency. He began with former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Daisy Johnson who then went on to recruit; Alexander Aaron (Code name Phobos, the Son of Ares), Yo Yo Rodriguez , the grandson of the Phantom Rider , Sebastian Druid, and Jerry Sledge, the son of the Absorbing Man .
The first 2 are Shield main characters (with YoYo having been made a main character in the final seasons). The other 2 were either recurring characters in the show (Australian fire inhuman) or the son of a recurring character from the first to last season (Crusher Creel). The first 3 were even all changed into inhumans despite not being in the comics, which fits even better with the skrulls maybe not being able to sim inhumans and that being part of how they can be reintroduced, since the Kree created them to fight the skrulls.
Along with the finale of Agents of Shield even showing Daisy in space, where Nick Fury was last seen.
But, earlier she reply a tweet saying "I wish" when asked if she was going to be in Secret Invasion. Still, what's the point on pressuring actors to spoil movies and series?
She's had health issues... and i suspect the 'scheduling conflicts' was just her & her team getting her out of the pile of crap PPG was turning out to be.
Is that what Iain De Caestecker felt about Season 7? ('Roadkill" was shot months after Season 7 and "Us" was shot during and after Iain's three episodes of Season 7)
