The term tui-na (also called twee naw) refers to a wide variety of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapeutic manipulation and body work. Traditional application of Tui Na has been for the alleviation of physical and emotional issues like restlessness and depression, insomnia, anxiety and anger. It is also used to treat other ailments, like constipation, asthma, arthritis and asthma. Tui Na isn't used to relax or for pleasure but instead as part the diagnostic process for specific diseases.

The benefits of Tui Na aren't fully appreciated in Western medicine, but studies show that it offers some benefit for those suffering from mild to moderate pain particularly when applied during a period of stress. Four researchers released a study of 12 patients suffering from stroke who were treated using Tui Na in a July 2021 issue of The American Journal of Sports Medicine. The patients showed normal symptoms and levels of fatigue, anxiety and depression. Three of the twelve treated patients with Spasticity showed improvement, while two others did not show improvements or worsened. There were no significant differences between groups in the time or treatment effects on variables like functioning, pain, or mood.

Researchers defined and drawn conclusions from 12 articles on Tui na. One was a meta-analysis, the other was a crossover study, and the rest were derived from the original published article itself. The meta-analysis was a study between twelve published articles on spasticity, tui na, and different reporting formats. It revealed that a statistically significant change in mean, with higher-quality results for spasticity than in tui nua.

The crossover study is a secondary analysis that compares the effects of two therapies: physiotherapy and physical therapy, as well as chiropractic therapy on the severity of poststroke spasticity of the upper limb. Although the difference was not significant, chiropractic treatment alone showed a significantly higher effect than physiotherapy. A subgroup that compared patients suffering from severe and progressive disease within a month of their onset , showed a significant treatment effect. Within this subgroup, chiropractic treatment was superior to other group. According to the authors, chiropractic care can be beneficial after a stroke.

The third study is the largest and most promising. It examined Chinese medicine and chiropractic medicine against Spinal Decompression Therapy (SCT) in poststroke spinal cord stimulation. Both groups had similar symptoms. SCT is a process that stimulates nerve compression and reduces muscle tone to aid in recovery. 강남출장안마 In this procedure needles are inserted in specific points along the spinal column. Both techniques can be beneficial, but the Chinese massage experts appear to have an advantage in terms of pain management and time to recover.

The scan was conducted by chiropractors who used the diagnostic imaging software. Then, they applied hands-on manipulation on the spine and upper extremities. There was a marked improvement in all areas following the four-week treatment period. Chiropractors saw a higher percentage of improvement than surgeons. The poststroke spasticity decreased by one month. For the majority of patients it was not necessary. Spinal mobilization did not cause stiffness or soreness.

Chiropractors were more likely to have a higher percentage of patients treated successfully however their success rates were lower than surgeons. Chiropractic patients who were randomly assigned to chiropractors had an increased rate of full recovery after the four-week post-stroke Spinal Decompression period. The postoperative appointment did not show any difference in the treatment groups over the first month. The random assignment was made to determine which group had the most improvement. Surprisingly, chiropractors showed better improvement than surgeons in both the postoperative and preoperative appointments.

Drs. Maurer, Kornmehl, and Jick who all are recognized as the top experts in the field of spinal treatment. This study is notable because of the importance of chiropractic treatment for stroke patients as well as their families.
