Davenport, N.Y. — A man from Delaware County was sentenced to 25 years in prison Tuesday for exploiting a child to make pornography, federal prosecutors in Syracuse said.
Jeremie Hoyt, 42, of Davenport, admitted to taking photos and video of a boy doing sexual acts in August 2019 and November 2020, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York.
Hoyt distributed the photos and videos online, prosecutors said.
The boy was 14 years old when some of the photos and video were taken, according to court documents.
In November 2020, the file storage service Dropbox reported Hoyt for uploading explicit photos of the boy, investigators said in an affidavit.
In April 2021, state troopers searched Hoyt’s Davenport home and found the child porn photos and videos on his phone, investigators said.
Hoyt told troopers he sent the images to others over the internet, according to the affidavit.
On top of the 25-year prison sentence, U.S. District Court Judge Glenn T. Suddaby added 30 years of supervised release for Hoyt, prosecutors said.

Two men have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in a child pornography production and distribution operation.
Christian Rice, of Melbourne, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison on charges of production, distribution and possession of child pornography. He’ll also have to spend 20 years on sex offender probation after the 30 years is up.
47-year-old Robert Ripley, from Jacksonville, was also sentenced in the case to 14 years in federal prison followed by 10 years of sex offender probation on a charges of distribution and possession of child pornography.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office began their investigation back in July of 2021 when their Special Operations Response Team Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about possible child pornography being distributed by way of an online chat group.
Investigators determined Rice was abusing a five-year-old child, filming the abuse, then providing the footage to Ripley who would then share the images to a social media group he was moderating.
According to the sheriff’s office, agents working the case were also able to identify and rescue the child from the abuse.
The investigation was a joint operation that included the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes against Children task Force and Homeland Security Investigations.

Deputies said 46-year-old Jonathan Walter Cantrell was showing to have an active arrest warrant out of Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.
Cantrell was found along Tyger River Drive around 8:45 a.m. on Friday, according to deputies.
