Pattaya, Thailand - If Soi 6 is nicknamed the ever so clever Soi Sex then Soi 6/1 deserves the nickname Soi Ladyboy. There is only one non-ladyboy bar at the Street 2 (inland) side of Soi Ladyboy called Saigon Girl. That place is great. As for the Ladyboys, they are everywhere. Some are very aggressive, many are very tall and all are not very girlish. This one clearly had panties full of man-parts still and I was trying to snap a shot of her, but at the last minute she buckled over in a mix of laughter and camera dodging. Unfortunately, every cunt with a digital point and shoot spends most of his drunken days trying to sneak shots of the ladyboys and bar girls. Many just want to be left alone.

[I know I've posted this before, but the show opens tonight, and I'm really excited about it for a host of reasons: 1) it's my last pre-baby show (and therefore my last show for a while), 2) it's a fully-staged version of one of my favorite readings I've ever been a part of , and 3) it's fucking awesome. We've gotten a lot of press lately, and both major newspapers have been too chicken to run the full name of the show, which is ridiculous to me. It's a 7th-grade-level slang word - settle the fuck down. No one had any problem publishing reviews of The Vagina Monologues, but GOD FORBID the title suggest that women might be broaching the sacred subject of penises.
Shit - if it makes anyone feel any better, the two pregnant women in the cast may be gestating penis-having individuals AT THIS VERY MOMENT. Technically, that would make us chicks with dicks. HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?!?!]
I felt the need to go back to some grass roots with a play around with 'Story of Mark Payne', a short play with 'Why don't we do it in the woods' and a little 'We like chicks with dicks', staying fairly true to the original.

We had to get to the church an hour and a half early for the wedding party pictures, and I took that opportunity to memorize my lines. (I did this in the car, not in the church. I am pretty sure this script would have caught fire had I brought it inside the church.)

The doc shows the moment Claire, from Virginia, meets a guy that she likes, only to be rejected by him as soon as he finds out she was born a boy. In the video above, Claire takes to the beach in a bikini for the first time – having avoided the moment (and a bikini) since she transitioned to female nearly a year ago. With the help of her friends, she builds up courage to speak to boys, saying: “I’m excited as there are a lot of cute guys out there.” The boys, who were originally attracted to Claire, did not call after finding out that she is trans. “That’s it, silence,” says Claire. “Like nothing from them again.” “Straight guys just can’t get over you having the male parts. “Once I’ve had or get the surgery, I think it will change a lot for me because right now if I meet a straight guy and he doesn’t know – we can’t get physical if I don’t tell him .
How dare these straight guys not wanna fuck someone with a dick! Just more of our homophobic, transphobic society at work! How sad is it that we live in a world where straight guys dont just say to themselves “Well I’m gonna keep an open mind and maybe blow this transgender girl who still has a dick. You’re not allowed to tell someone you’re not sexually attracted to them because they have the wrong sexual genetalia. Thats insensitive. Thats closed minded and mean. Just because a person has a dick doesnt mean you get to decide not to be attracted to them.

If we’re gonna start calling guys bad dudes for being straight then the whole system has gone down the goddam drain. I mean to be honest it still will take a very special type of secure and open guy to be in a relationship with a trans person even after the surgery, but lets start with not having a penis.
