It's that time of the month. Time to shut things down briefly overnight to do the routine maintenance so this place keeps running like a well oiled machine (though your mileage may vary). So around about 2am I'll take all chat services offline with warnings going out via system
broadcast messages in the chat rooms starting at midnight ET. This usually takes about 2 hours so when completed all chat services will be restored to normal. The UG will be available during this time for any that are itching to continue their chats. Thank you for your patience through

Probably the most hard core comic book/graphic novel series to date and I love it. Doesn't hold no punches and has a very sick sense of humor to go along with its action. It's also one of the most hyped shows on Amazon Prime. UPDATE: This show is as awesome as ever and has not
let me down this season. UPDATE: Episode 8 and the season finale went about as expected and I LOVED IT. Big climax, a bit of a twist, and a set up for season 4. Now, I have to wait a calendar year to see more. Now that makes me sad face.
Another Marvel TV series is now on Disney+. This involves a teenage girl, Kamala, Khan, who develops superpowers in ways she doesn't understand fully yet or where they came from originally. What is special about this character is she is Marvel's first Muslim superhero to headline a
comic book series. The first couple of episodes have been ok so far. It has been cute, funny, and quirky and based on what I've researched about the comic book series, that's about how the character was developed. I'm on the fence so far. As cute and funny it has been, I'm not overly
impressed but the series is still developing so we'll see. UPDATE: Still very strong with a bit of magic to go with the superhuman powers. This ties into the magic established in movies like Doctor Strange and shows like Wandavision. Good historical episode for Episode 6.
One of my fave sci-fi shows on has returned to Hulu. The Orville is a show by the creator of Family Guy & American Dad, Seth MacFarlane, and started off like a quirky satire of space exploration movies. It had a lot of pop culture references, goofy and some times raunchy (as much as can
be had for broadcast TV) humor that you wouldn't see in shows like Babylon 5, Deep Space 9, any of the Star Treks, and so on. It basically felt like, "what if we take Star Trek and add humor and goofball jokes." Anyway, in season 2, you can tell the tone changed as they got more serious
and dealt with a lot more serious, deep, and controversial topics. Well done I thought. Covid happened and the whole show got postponed for a while and is finally back after 2 years. In season 3, Fox got bought out by Disney and Disney shipped the show off to Hulu where it can have less
of a filter and that's a good thing. It has some good sets, good CG for the entire show, and while the acting can be wooden a-f, I still find it very entertaining. UPDATE: This show has taken it upon itself to take socio-political and controversial topics of today and superimposing them into a
futuristic setting to see how they play out and let the viewer make their own mind up regardless of the position they take. I really like this bold and daring move and it makes the show more than a one trick pony.
Ohhh My sci-fi fix is back on Netflix! It just landed this past Friday and I'm having to control myself so I don't gobble up all of the episodes in a night. So far so good. Apparently this is the first half of Season 4 (7 episodes) and so good....soooo good. This is one of those shows that can take
eery & nostalgia (set in the 80s) to a whole other level. All done and now just got to wait until July for the second part. UPDATE: The second part was phenomenal and leads into the 5th and presumably final season. Waiting a calendar year couldn't be more torturous.
No Star Wars nerd is going to miss out on this show, myself included. The story takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and returns Evan McGregor as the titular character. Seems to be an intermediary tale from 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. That is all I'll say. It has a little bit
of canon we all know plus adding to it. It may be good for some and shitty for others. I will say though, Darth Vader is a badass. Well, not to say we didn't already know that, but they keep stacking on just how badass he was where the movies didn't show it enough. UPDATE: The show is done
and it basically served its purpose. It's easily rewatchable but some won't be blown away by it. It fits in well with the canon and helps answer a few unanswered questions for the serious fans.
Since gambling has been around since the dawn of time, online sports gambling has become a huge booming business that has swept the US and other countries. I figured I'd share some of my plays for the day for shits and giggles. Take them, don't take them, I don't care.
Take them at your own risk. I do a lot of research in these as well as get these picks from reliable sources. Just know even the best of pro handicappers are successful only 60% of the time at best and that is for all stars of their craft. Bet wisely, have fun with it, don't blow your load on
one bet, spread it around a bit and protect yourself, and don't let your bankroll go to zero. Know when to quit. That's my advice to anyone that cares.
In case you don't know, a unit is typically 1% of your bankroll. So if you have $1000 to work with then 1 unit = $10. So you're betting confidence can be higher or lower depending on how much of a unit you're willing to wager on a bet. So if you bet 0.50u or half a unit, then in this
example, that's $5. As you can see, I place small bets, enjoy the rollercoaster, and keep trying to build that bankroll. I personally won't go over 1u unless it is a whale of a bet I feel so confident in that I want to throw extra money toward, otherwise, my confidence usually is third quarter
a unit or less with half a unit being a normal "high confidence" bet.
