At a recent munch, my dom wore my keys around her neck, and I wore a necklace with a lock on it. This was our first time publicly wearing both of our chastity statuses/symbols.

From my findings it did come up, but there are apparently more common reasons why a key would be around the neck. There was one website that actually gave a list through a couple paragraphs as to why people wear keys around the neck, and sexual denial chastity play was one of them, towards the bottom of the list.
In the BDSM community dom (me)s and keyholders sometimes wear key necklaces, usually of an actual functioning key to their sub's collar or chastity device. Sometimes they wear them just to signify they're a dom.

My wife has said she will never wear my actual chastity key around her neck. I did purchase the sterling silver key pictured in my avatar for her when we first got into this and she does wear it often.
