As if we needed any more reason to believe Charlize Theron is one of the most gorgeous women on the planet, the South African beauty stripped down for a striking, tasteful photo shoot with W Magazine.
In the stunning black-and-white shot, the "Mad Max: Fury Road" star is seated on a bed of white linens completely nude save for one cocktail ring. Bare-faced, undone and vulnerable, the actress, 40, gazes up at the camera lens above.
Theron joins a large group of other A-listers, including Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Banks and Bradley Cooper, for the magazine's February "Best Performances" issue, which celebrates the best performances in cinema in 2015 and early 2016.

Charlize Theron didn't land one of the six covers - they went instead to Alicia Vikander, Brie Larson, Carey Mulligan, Eddie Redmayne, Rooney Mara and Saoirse Ronan.
But the 40-year-old Oscar winner managed to steal all the attention for the February issue of W magazine .
Inside the fashion magazine, the blonde siren posed naked for the Best Performances portfolio, which also featured Amy Schumer, Margot Robbie, Mya Taylor, Jane Fonda and Jake Gyllenhaal, among others.

The Nineties icon looked sultry as she posed without a shred of clothing on in a messy bed with a white sheet draped over her waist.
The Monster star's hair was so loaded with mousse it could be best described as extreme bed head. And the looker did not hide the awkward tattoo on her right foot.
Theron rested an arm on her knee while her left hand, which featured a ring on her wedding finger, wrapped up her shoulder.

Fittingly channeling old school Hollywood glamour for the movie issue of W Magazine, Brie Larson appeared on the cover wearing a scarlet embellished Marc Jacobs gown.

Brie Larson added: 'I have always wanted to act. When I was around 7 I started auditioning, and I recall going up for a fish-sticks commercial. By then, I was completely committed to the craft of acting and had memorized a full monologue. The director was only looking for cute kids and wasn’t interested in hearing my speech. I started sobbing. ‘They won’t let me act!’ I wailed to my mother.'

On the inspiration for the portfolio, W Editor-in-Chief Stefano Tonchi said: 'In the age of the selfie, what makes a memorable celebrity portrait? That was the question in the back of my mind months ago when I started thinking about our annual Movie Issue.
'As I started doing visual research, I felt overwhelmed by the endless stream of Instagram images of dressed-to-the-nines (or barely dressed) celebrities.
'I felt the need to step back from all that glossy banality and return to the pure and simple drama of black and white photography. I wanted to allow the actors to be themselves, without props or pretense.'
