Fox Sports broadcaster Charissa Thompson is speaking for the first time about nude photos that were leaked of her, saying she is still trying to take back her privacy, she told The Athletic's Richard Deitsch.
In January, photos of the 36-year-old Thompson were leaked online after being stolen from her iCloud.
She said the first person she called after finding out about the leaked pictures was Fox colleague Erin Andrews, who herself had been violated when a person filmed her through a hotel room peephole in 2008. The videos of Andrews went online the following year. The man responsible for those videos was arrested and sentenced to two years and 6 months in prison for interstate stalking.
Thompson said she has been open with her life and didn't expect something like this to happen to her.
"When it comes to your physical being and intimate photos between you and your boyfriend and things that you sent to someone when you were in a long-distance relationship and in love, it is your private property,” Thompson said. “So it felt — the obvious — like such an invasion. But then the depths I am still taking to get back that privacy are unbelievable. The way I equate is someone came into my home, robbed my home of all its possessions, put it out in the cul-de-sac right in front of me, and I had to buy all of it right back to put back in my house."
Thompson said she is in the process of trying to find out who stole and leaked the photos.
“I was in a really bad place for a while after that because I started questioning me,” Thompson said. “I am so open with a lot of things in my life and this was so private and it was really tough."

Fox Sports host Charissa Thomas' private photos were hacked and leaked online.
Thompson's lawyer Andrew Brettler told Fox News his client will take "every appropriate step" to seek justice.

"We're working with [the Los Angeles District Attorney] hand-in-hand," Brettler told Fox News. "I think that it's important that the responsible individual or individuals are held accountable for this because it's a disgusting invasion of my client's privacy rights."
The Los Angeles District Attorney's office confirmed to Fox News "case has been presented to us for investigation."
The 35-year-old is the latest star to have nude photos leaked online. Lindsey Vonn, Miley Cyrus, Kristen Stewart and many more have been victims of nude photo hackings.
Thompson is known as the host of "Ultimate Beastmaster" and for her work on "Extra."

Between her years at ESPN and Fox Sports, she has built up a massive following. For obvious reasons, anything she posts on Instagram goes viral .
One unfortunate incident that continues to haunt her to this day is a nude photo leak that occurred in 2018.
This past week, she appeared on a podcast with Jalen Rose and spoke openly and honestly about what transpired.
Her poignant words speak for themselves:

“This is where Fox is so incredible,” she said. “I just was with them and they were so wonderful to me. And, so, I’ll never forget that, that even though most people, like people make comments like, ‘Oh, how are you still employed after that’ … Instead, my employer wrapped their arms around me and they’re like, ‘We got you.’”
Private imagery leaking out, unfortunately, is not an infrequent occurrence in the sports world. Dave Portnoy’s latest sex tape recently leaked out , as did Jamal Murray’s private Instagram clip with his girlfriend .
While this happens too often for comfort, it’s nice to know that Thompson was able to get past her particular incident and thrive in the way she has.

Nude photos of Fox Sports host Charissa Thompson were leaked online after her iCloud account was hacked, reports said Thursday. An investigation is being conducted by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office into the incident, New York Daily News reported.
The 35-year-old's personal photos and videos were leaked on a website that has previously published similar compromising photos of A-list stars after they were illegally obtained.
Lawyer Andrew Brettler from Los Angeles law firm Lavely & Singer was hired by Thompson to have the photos removed from the website, the Daily News reported.
"It is a disgusting invasion of Ms. Thompson’s privacy, and we are working with law enforcement authorities to ensure that those responsible for hacking her account and publishing her photos are brought to justice," he told.
Sources told the Blast that the photos were not in Thompson's phone when they were published on the website, which has not been named.
The latest incident is reminiscent of "The Fappening" leaks of 2014, and "The Fappening 2.0" in 2017.
In August last year, several celebrities, including Miley Cyrus, Kristen Stewart and Tiger Woods, became victims of a nude photo hack. In April, photos of actresses Amanda Seyfried, Emma Watson, Rose McGowan, figure skater Analeigh Tipton, model Dylan Penn, "Arrow" star Katie Cassidy and many others were stolen and later leaked by notorious website Celeb Jihad as part of "Fappening 2.0."
The first instance of leaks reported on a large scale occurred in 2014, and at the time the scandal was termed "The Fappening" — after a subreddit by the same name that was created for leaked nude images that were first posted on the website 4chan . A-list stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Victoria Justice, Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande were victims of the 2014 hack.
Celeb Jihad is a website that contains hundreds of graphic photos of celebrities, some of which are fake but many of them are authentic.
