On January 12, 2022, Century Casino announced that it had entered into an agreement to sell land and buildings on one of its properties located in Calgary, Alberta. The contract is between Century Resorts Alberta, a subsidiary of the company, and Rowanwood Financial Properties, which it says is worth C$8.1 million.

Century Casino is a company that provides casino entertainment, and operates several game hotspots in numerous North American territories, including properties in Alberta, Canada. The company's properties in Alberta include Century Casino & Hotel Edmonton, Century Casino St Albert, Century Mile Racecourse and Casino, Century Downs Racecourse and Casino.

Century Resorts Alberta will sell the land and buildings for $8.1 million (about $6.5 million) at Rowanwood Financial Properties Ltd on a rate-based basis on January 12, 2022, with buyers paying CA$700,000 to date, with the remaining CA$7.4 million expected to be paid after the close of the deal.

Property taxes and other revenue and expense adjustments are currently required for the property, and information from both sides indicates that the contract should be officially terminated within 30 days. Century Casino acquired the property from Silver Dollar Casino about 12 years ago for about $10.5 million, and it will soon have a new owner on the land.

Century Resort Alberta agreed to sell casino operations rights for Century Casino Calgary in the property to Rowanwood Financial Properties on December 1, 2020 and leased part of the property with the casino site to the buyer. Currently, the game company said it has continued to operate Century Sports, a sports bar, bowling and entertainment facility located on the land, since its recent deal.

Century Resorts Alberta will suspend its Century Sports operations after the official termination of its contract and move its lease on the casino portion to Rowanwood Financial Properties Ltd. Now that the property is almost officially sold, the subsidiary division will continue to operate the current property in Alberta and explore new opportunities in the provinces.

The Century Casino also suffered damage to casinos in Alberta due to an unprecedented outbreak in March 2020. Due to state health and safety regulations, casinos have been closed and reopened several times, and they are still operating after their last reopening in June 2021. However, it operates as a strict health protocol for both customers and employees.

Recently, Horse Racing Alberta announced a live harness racing program for the 2022 season featuring more than 200 interesting race dates. The company's Century Mile Racing and Casino will run a 20-day Standardbread race and a 54-day Superbread race. Another horse racing facility, Century Downs Racing Track and Casino, will have a 61-day meeting.
