I purchased one of these as an upgrade to the stock Fender speaker in a 40 Watt Blues Deluxe. This speaker is much louder and much more rounded than the original, a lot more low end. Out of the box it didn't sound good at all, it was breaking up all over the place and a little fuzzy even at lower volumes so I went online and found celestions instructions on breaking it in, which I followed (earplugs highly recommended) and now it sounds just like I was hoping for. The biggest difference in tone I have noticed is with the drive channel - most everyone hates the Blues Deluxe's drive because it's very shrill and not very powerful, but it sounds a lot better through this speaker. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a bit more warmth and crunch out of their amps. It is 60 watts with 8 ohms of resistance so make sure your amp is compatible before buying.
I've always wanted a V30 for guitar due to it is legendary status in the music world. Since tone is completely subjective, I researched this speaker extensively before finally buying it. Sadly, the tone is just too harsh and brittle for my tastes. If you have guitar with a darker tone/pickups, if you like the upper mid/high spikey sound, or you insist on emulating one of your guitar heroes, then I would say try one out. Otherwise, I would recommend trying something else that has a smoother tone.
I've had this speaker for a while now, but that's fine, it's certainly broken in now, and I can tell you it's certainly worth the buy. Especially if you're moving on from generic-ish speakers. I put this in my 4x12 cab as my first speaker change , so right now it's with 3 Celestion... V-80's I believe is what they are? This overpowers them greatly, really noticeable if you're playing low volume, which is fine, sometime soon I plan on getting one more of these, and pairing them with two G12K-100's. I can't wait for that day. Got nothing else to say really, and nothing to complain about here.
Adrian Belew, Sonny Sharrock, Bill Frisell, Frank Zappa, Fred Frith, sometimes I live on the weird side of music and was worried about buying such a popular speaker. I also love John Lee Hooker, The MC5, early Ted Nugent, badass old school down and dirty Detroit rock 'n' roll, and I couldn't be happier. Coupled with a great guitar and tube head, this speaker takes my sound the rest of the way there.
I upgraded my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe with this speaker. I read all the reviews and everyone was right. This speaker gave my hot rod the powerful and warm sound that everyone said it would. I received it today via UPS and I could tell the difference right off. The change from the stock fender/eminence to the Celestion V30 was awesome.
There was nothing wrong with my original Fender Deluxe speaker I was just looking for a warmer tone and I was very satisfied with this speaker and what a great improvement it was. it gives me a warm low-end (the original fender speaker sounded thin), a rich vocal mid-range and a beautiful top-end. I didn't know it but my brother in Nashville had replaced his Deluxe with this same speaker and rates it as highly as I do.
I'm so pleased that I installed this speaker into my Fender Deluxe. It sounded great before but now, it really sounds incredible. I strongly recommend this modification to everyone who owns an earlier model Fender Hotrod/Blues Deluxe. (the latest models have been shipped out with this speaker already installed - check online specs and your serial numbers for details on what yours has)

Awesome Speaker
I thought I didn't need a speaker but found this as a warehouse deal and the price was so good that I bought it anyway. Absolutely no regrets. It now lives in an open back cabinet and sounds amazing.

Mine wasn't great, it was useless.
There was nothing to like about the particular unit I received even though Celestion V30 speakers are one of the best speakers for guitar, its just I had recieved a broken, non functioning and an old unit from the seller.

This one is made in China.
I wanted the uk made version. This one is made in China. Amazon does accept returns on this product. I have to sell it on reverb.
