Some celebrities are known for a specific role they played. Others are known for their physical attributes more than almost anything else. These celebs are known for their famous locks. You've definitely asked for one of these styles during a trip to the salon at one time or another.
Jennifer Aniston is maybe best known for her '90s style during the Friends era. The Rachel was a razored layered cut from 1994 created by hair guru Chris McMillian by accident . Aniston was never a big fan herself, but that didn't stop fans from obsessing over it back in the day.
1940's movie star Veronica Lake was known for her long, soft blonde waves, which are now basically the definition of Old Hollywood glamour. The look, complete with a deep side part, is still copied even today.
It's impossible to think of adorable child star Shirley Temple without picturing her head of perfectly coiled curls. Actually, the style was even named after her: ask for Shirley Temple curls in any hair salon, and they'll know exactly what you're talking about.
Grace Jones' box cut afro was iconic when she co-starred in A View To A Kill , and it remains so to this day. It wasn't her only memorable look. Her penchant for unique, super short geometric styles made her a fashion "it" girl.
Farrah Fawcett's mane of voluminous, choppy feathered layers is easily the star's most recognizable feature. It essentially defined beauty in the 1970s.
Twiggy's look in the 1960s was one that everyone aimed to copy. The glossy, closely cropped pixie cut inspired women everywhere to chop it all off. Her signature spider eyelashes, thin physique, and style also captivated the world at large.
Debbie Harry's super blonde platinum strands were the inspiration behind her band name Blondie. The choppy cut with bangs was so powerful that Vogue has said it "redefined platinum hair in the punk era."
You can thank Amy Winehouse for bringing back the beehive, a style that was super popular back in the '60s. Winehouse's take on the look was messier, more dramatic, and a lot more edgy than what it was back in the day.
Diana Ross has experimented with different hairstyles a little bit in the time since she became famous, but she's always stayed true to the voluminous natural style she is really known for.
Mia Farrow's hair is easily one of the most well-known pixie cuts of all time. Farrow has said she cut it herself with a pair of "fingernail scissors," despite the fact that Vidal Sassoon often gets the credit for creating it.
Brigitte Bardot's long, full blonde hair really epitomized French glamour. That hair was always in the spotlight, whether it was in a messy beehive, girlish pigtails, or simply down in long waves.
Who can forget when Halle Berry almost single-handedly brought the pixie cut back in the '90s? She's had other looks over the years, but this one remains her best.
Whether it's falling around her shoulders in big, beautiful, bouncy waves or pulled back into a chic bun or ponytail, Kate Middleton's hair always looks incredibly perfect. Her glossy locks have certainly helped define her elegant sense of style.
It's impossible to picture Anna Wintour without her signature blunt bob and short bangs. She's been wearing her hair this way since, well, forever, and she'd probably be unrecognizable without it.
Female celebrities aren't the only ones with iconic hairstyles! Elvis's hair was always a topic of conversation, especially that shellacked bouffant that he was so famous for.
Although Keri Russell no longer rocks these tightly wound curls, she was once known for them. When she chopped them off for a super short cut during her Felicity days, fans were outraged. For the record, she has stated that she doesn't regret it .
Marilyn Monroe knew more than anyone that gentlemen prefer blondes. More specifically, the short blonde curls that helped her conquer Hollywood.
Tina Turner's wild mane of voluminous hair defines her style and her spirit, as well as the entire 1980s. No one could pull this off quite like she could.
Gisele Bundchen is famous for wearing her dark blonde hair down in long, loose waves, and can you really blame her? People regularly try to get the same beachy waves that always look good (and seemingly effortless) on her.
Dolly Parton is known for two physical attributes: really big hair, and really big breasts. Her hair is and always has been giant...as teased and curled as possible. She has said she's been wearing a wig since 1973 because of all the bleaching and teasing and hairspray.
These wild auburn curls helped Julia Roberts capture the hearts of moviegoers and become one of the biggest stars on the planet. She may no longer rock this style, but one must never forget where they came from.
Audrey Hepburn's sophisticated chignon updo in Breakfast at Tiffany's remains a fan favorite many years later. Even her short locks drove people wild. That's one of the signs of a true star.
These iconic hairstyles stand the test of time.

No one gets bored of their hair as often as celebrities.

But I get it. If I had access to the crème de la crème of hairstylists and colorists, I would get a trim or dye my hair a few shades lighter whenever I feel like it, too.

Even though my Instagram fees is filled with fresh bobs and new pastel hair colors every other day, there are a handful of recent celebrity hair transformations that are so drastic (and just so damn good), I just can't stop thinking about them.

From Jennifer Lopez's curtain bangs to Tiffany Haddish's shaved head, keep scrolling for 10 celebrity hair transformations that made headlines this past year.

Even Emily Ratajkowski couldn't resist the urge of a DIY hair coloring session while quarantining at home during the pandemic. The multi-hyphenate star and Kérastase ambassador went blonde for the first time ever in June 2020. Her honey blonde hair was created in partnership with the brand, and she even starred in the campaign for its Blond Absolu line.

With red carpet appearances and public appearances canceled for most of 2020, Tiffany Haddish took the opportunity to do something she's always wanted to do: shave her head. After buzzing her hair off herself last summer, the comedian told Jimmy Fallon that she took the plunge in order to "get to know her scalp and body better." Eventually, her shaved head make its red carpet debut at the 2020 Emmy Awards.

"I wish I was only tempted," Kaia Gerber told InStyle of her pandemic hair color journey. After bleaching her hair at home with hydrogen peroxide (which isn't a recommended way to go blonde), the model dyed her bob bright pink . "The bleach was my excuse to go pink because I've always wanted to do it," she said. "But, I'm telling you, if you have natural beautiful dark hair, it's not worth the bleach."

Demi Lovato ended 2020 by cutting their waist-length hair into a bob with choppy long layers and an undercut. They also had fun with their hair color, too, dyeing it platinum blonde and leaving an inch of dark roots for an effortless, lived-in vibe.

A breakup, milestone birthday, or new season are a few common situations that spark a major hair change. Or if you're a Grammy Award-winning singer like Billie Eilish, a new album. Ahead of debuting the first single off her upcoming second album, Happier Than Ever , Eilish shocked the internet by ditching her black hair with slime green roots for platinum blonde . The singer also switched up her haircut too, opting for a trendy shag with curtain bangs.

There's no wrong time to debut a new haircut, but the first full, in-person award show since the coronavirus was declared a global pandemic is the perfect opportunity to bring some much-needed glamour. And that's exactly what Halle Berry did with her micro asymmetrical bob and choppy baby bangs at the 2021 Oscars. The actress also added allover caramel highlights to her short cut, too.

While Ciara is known for her revolving door of hairstyles and hair colors, her waist-length icy blue hair is a goodie . The singer debuted the bold color during the fall of 2020 while everyone was still at home, bored, and debating adding pastel hair dye to their carts.

While Camila Cabello is known for her long curly hair and curtain bangs, the singer moved on to another trending look in the fall of 2020. She "lost her short hair virginity" when she got this cute shaggy bob and wispy bangs .

"What would J.Lo do?" is what so many people ask themselves before getting into their stylist's chair. So, if the star's layered curtain bangs are any indication, expect to see a lot of this style of fringe in the near future.

Margot Robbie is another celebrity who's taken bangs for a spin. The actress showed up to the 2021 Oscars with significantly darker hair than her signature buttery blonde shade, but her soft, textured bangs are what topped the night's best beauty lists.
