If you want to bump into Reese Witherspoon—or Nas—while updating your wardrobe, here's where to go.
We love when our favorite celebrities launch their own clothing lines—but when they take things up a notch and open their own boutique? There’s nothing more personal and intimate. It’s their chance to curate the clothing, accessories, and even home goods that they would buy for themselves and then share it with the world under one roof. Here are eight of our favorite celebrity owned boutiques that are definitely worth the trip!
The Boutique: Envy by Melissa Gorga in Montclair, NJ
Backstory: We watched Melissa open up Envy on the latest season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey with lots of success—yet lots of eye-opening surprises about what being a small business owner is really like along the way. After the launch of her HSN jewelry line , Melissa decided it was time to take things into her own hands and open her own fashion haven where she could sell the clothes and accessories (including her own line) that make up her own coveted wardrobe.
Must-Haves: Envy sells fashion for every occasion. As Melissa told Gotham: “You can buy anything, whether it be for the office, or if you’re going out with the girls. I even made sure there are a couple of choices of cocktail dresses, a wedding dress, and graphic tees. I found such great jean lines and jean brands. I tried to find stuff that you’re not going to find at the mall, or in the big department stores.”
The Boutique: Kyle by Alene Too in Beverly Hills, CA
Backstory: We’ve watched Kyle’s store grow to great success on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since it opened in 2012—but just who is the Alene Too in the name? Kyle told Bravo , “I did a book signing at a store in Boca called Alene Too and I fell in love with the store. It's everything that I love, and I thought I would love to have a store like that in L.A. So when we partnered, they wanted to keep the store's original name in L.A. because they have a very strong fan base of their own. So we combined the names."
Must-Haves: From home goods by Jonathan Adler to Rag and Bone jeans to chic, classic looks from n: Philanthropy, Kyle carries only the trendiest yet comfortable must-haves around.
The Boutique: Dash in Los Angeles, Miami and New York
Backstory: In the early days of Keeping Up with the Kardashians , it seemed like Kourtney and Khloe were practically living at the original, Calabasas location of Dash—and truth is, they were! Kourtney actually made Khloe start working at their contemporary women’s boutique to stop her from drinking, partying, and sleeping in too much—something Khloe turned to after their dad passed away in 2003. And the Dash store—now franchise—was a true labor of love for Kim, Kourt and Khloe. “Kourt, Kim and I were the only employees and really had no idea what we were doing,” Khloe recently revealed on her app . “We went to Barnes & Noble, bought business books, and asked our friends for advice. We put everything on Kourt’s credit card—we literally had no money. The three of us bought all our own inventory, cleaned the store, did our own taxes—everything.”
Must-Haves: If you go on the Dash website, you can view their collections curated by each sister’s distinct styles. So if you’re feeling like you want to add some sensuality to your wardrobe, it’s easy to shop for things like the Seduction Mesh Dress by Jessica Rich a la Kim!
Backstory: Kandi has been seen starting a host of businesses on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, from a family restaurant to a sex toy line. But her boutique, Tags, is extra special because she launched it with her best friend Peaches Chin. The specialty boutique now has three Atlanta locations, and one in Las Vegas. The concept of the stores is “luxury for less,” and it stocks fashion for women of all sizes.
Must-Haves: The “Curvy Girl” collection features sleek, sexy dresses that hits every body type just right, while the shoe collection wows with the sexiest sky-high, over-the-knee boots we’ve ever seen.
Boutique: 12AM Run in Las Vegas, NV
Backstory: For those who love sneakers, you know sneaker-heading is serious business. And so Nas took that passion and created 12AM Run, a one-of-a-kind sneaker boutique located right in the heart of the Las Vegas strip. 12AM Run sells some of the most exclusive kicks around while a DJ plays hip-hop favorites.
Must-Haves: 12AM Run is pretty amazing because they offer lines like the exclusive XIIAM private label collection with many pieces that can ONLY be found at the store. They also sell tons of cool stuff from Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Stussy, HUF, Stance, Publish, Mitchell & Ness, and more.
The Boutique: Blue Tree in New York, NY
Backstory: Phoebe Cates hasn’t been in a movie since 2001 and with good reason—she’s been following her heart and passion by running the high-end fashion boutique Blue Tree (which just celebrated ten years in business). Phoebe told USA Today , "I always wanted to have a general store. If I could have had a photo booth and sold candy, I would have."
Must-Haves: Located on the Upper East Side, Blue Tree sells hip kids toys and accessories downstairs—adult jewelry, home goods, accessories, and more are found upstairs. We’re pretty obsessed with this lace telephone bag ($2400) or this 3-D version of Clue ($285) for our next game night.
The Boutique: Draper James in Nashville, TN and Dallas, TX
Backstory: Reese launched her store and line of clothing/home goods to pay homage to her grandparents Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon. She says on the Draper James’ site that she credits them for teaching her “everything I know about gracious Southern living.” The idea of infusing Southern charm into your home and wardrobe is at the core of Draper James’ distinctive inventory. And if you ever wondered what Reese’s house looked like, well, all you have to do is walk inside a Draper James store to find out—she designed both locations to look just like it!
Must-Haves: Honestly, who wouldn’t want Reese’s signature style sprinkled into their home and fashion choices? We’re all about this love field print romper ($275), these “Y’all” mittens ($45) and these charming “Tell Me Something Good” mugs ($38 for a set of two) for the next time you have friends over for tea and gossip!
The Boutique: Monica Potter Home in Cleveland and Garrettsville, OH
Backstory: After her hit TV show Parenthood wrapped, Monica turned her attention to another project that was near and dear to her heart—a handcrafted line of natural home products, including all-natural toiletries, home decor and embroidered textiles. Her main mission? To help bring sustainable jobs to the Ohio area where she grew up. Alas, Monica Potter Home was born and now boasts two Ohio locations. She explained to the Today Show , “With our products, we aim to supplement the beauty and comfort of our customers’ homes, supporting the foundation on which their children are raised and their lives are led.”
Must-Haves: The prices are extremely reasonable for almost everything that Monica sells—with the quality top notch. We love “ Mrs. Potter’s Facial Oil Number One ” ($10) that Monica created after being asked numerous times what she uses on her own skin plus the signature (and adorable!) MPH Fabric Headbands ($15)!
