The thread where you originally posted this was from 2 years ago, and was about the 'Software Updater'. (There wasn't a Driver Updater at that time).

You also have a different error code to the one there. (Error 91613 is a new code to us users).

What is the usability? Well I am in the need of a simple tool that is capable of scanning the system for some basic stuff(i.e. processor type/speed, hdd info, ram). This info needs to be put toghether in a QR code so that the user can easily scan it and store it.

i have mailed to support team and got prompt repose i tried all the methods that they provided in that response non is working, i am really disappointed with ccleaner its my first experience and its gone horribly wrong i have replied them again but till now got no response, please some one help or else refund.

I recently got a new CPU and motherboard and found something that concerned me while using Speccy v1.32.740. The code name is reading "Kaby Lake," when it should be "Coffee Lake." Not a huge deal, but I thought my local computer supply company was ripping me off.. So I verified the specifications of my CPU with another program. See attached screen shots.

First I would recommend you to list down your requirements. Saying "like ccleaner" is just way too broad. Just come up with a list of functionality you need your system to achieve and try to break down such list into smaller responsibilities. Also come up with a list of candidate objects and try to distribute your responsibilities in between those objects, after that you can start thinking in your structure and how to organize them (composition, association, inheritance relationships). Good objects are not anemic (0 responsibily) nor godly (a tons of stuff to do)

See this for information about how to register and common problems:

Now that I have that out of the way, I would like to ask the community about my inability to submit my license key to unlock a new install. The only dialogue I get is the attached error message saying it is not my fault (how unusual!). Error code: ALPHA (0xAB000003) I have attempted several times and can't get it to accept my key.

If it hasn't cleared up for you then you should email support@ccleaner.com and ask for their help.

But TBH if it's an intermittent server glitch then support won't be able to do much more than you can, someone needs to find what's causing the glitch and fix it.

@caravanserai When you select 'Tools' you are automatically taken to the Software Updater, this action initiates the software Scan/Refresh. As I can see from your screen shot you have moved to the Uninstaller tab, this will currently cancel the refresh and bring up error code 19. In the next release this message will be made clearer or be removed all together.

I have this problem with CCleaner. When I try to login to my bank account, if cookies have been removed, they require me to phone them for a security code before I can get in. When I do that I then register my computer with them so I can get in in the future without the code. I use CCleaner to remove cookies except for the bank's cookie. So I ran a test today. I signed in to the bank, no problem. I ran CCleaner with no cookie removal checked. I signed in to the bank, no problem. I ran CCleaner telling it to only remove cookies from Chrome (the browser I use to get in to the bank), then tried to login to the bank again. They wanted the code to let me in. Obviously CCleaner is removing the bank's cookie even though it has been told not to. Can anyone tell me what is going on and how to correct it? If it matters, I'm running Win10 on a Dell Inspiron PC.

And just to note that if it is being saved as a password/form entry then a lot of banks and other websites dealing with financial transactions are now coded not to accept auto-fill of saved passwords/codes, you are forced to type then in each time you visit.

It's a security measure. If your device is ever lost or stolen then whoever 'finds' it does not have your password/code entered automatically.

Maybe I am reading this wrongly, but quoting from your first post:

" . . . I ran CCleaner

telling it to only remove cookies from Chrome (the browser I use to get in to the bank), then tried to login to the bank again. They wanted the code to let me in. Obviously CCleaner is removing the bank's cookie even though it has been told not to . . . ".

In any case, good for the bank, they seem to be watching after you. Also, fwiw, some banks have the option to send a code to a prearranged email account or a text to a prearranged phone. That is very handy. You might ask if they have that.

The bank will ask for a code (obtained from them) if their cookie is removed and/or the computer I'm using is not registered with them. When I give them the code I also register my computer with them even though it is the same computer I've been using for over 5 years. When I have CCleaner remove the cookies I specify that it should not touch the bank cookie. In spite of all that I need a code every time I login to the bank. In my opinion this whole code business is totally unnecessary. I will always be using the same computer. No one but me will be using this computer. I am using a PC not a portable laptop so I will never be carrying my computer with me. I don't have a smartphone to use to login with. I have followed all the bank's rules and still they won't let me in without a code EVERY time I log in after running CCleaner. A valid userid and password should be their only requirement.

I had to replace a motherboard on my Windows 10 Pro computer. I specifically replaced it with an identical board hoping Windows would not require re-activation. Unfortunately, the serial number is apparently part of the hardware profile it is looking at. Anyway, this is my issue. I did not have time at that moment to look thru my paper files for the Windows sticker with the keycode for this machine, and just simply opened Speccy to find it. I entered it and was rejected. So I entered a chat with Microsoft support and they dug around in the OS and found the key code, which was completely different from the original key I entered. Long story short, they could see the installation date was 6 months ago, and I showed them a digital copy of the receipt for the board. The came up with a new key and activated windows for me. Here is the problem, the key code they used to activate, is totally different than the one Speccy displays now. It did however change, but it is different than either one of the keys I used. Can anyone tell me if this is a common issue?

Email them at support@ccleaner.com and explain your problem, they are pretty quick to sort things out.

It's best if you use the same email address that you used when purchasing, so that they can quickly identify your order.

Hi Insima,

The last support request we can find for the email address associated with your licence was on 20 Aug 2018.

Could you confirm that the email address associated with the above licence is the email address you used to contact support@ccleaner.com?

Thanks

Hi Insima,

We have not received a support request from that email address since 20 Aug 2018.

Please could you resend your request to support@ccleaner.com so we can assist you further with this.

Thanks

I bought a CCleaner Pro lycense but before activating it I noticed that the activation code is the same as the Avast Ultimate I already use, which lycense includes Avast CleanUP Premium. Are those 2 programs clones marketed under diferent names? If that's the case isn't it fair that the CCleaner lycense be cancelled and the payment refunded?

The licence keys/activation codes are absolutely identical.

Each licence was bought from its respective original seller, no 3rd party involved:

-Avast Ultimate was bought directly form Avast for several years and the last one demamded additional help by Avast support because of a change of my e-mail.

-CCleaner Pro's licence was bought/accepted through an up-grading offer from CCleaner's Free version which I've been using for a long time. This buy/acceptance was acknowleged with reference # 372943692 by mail from Cleverbridge / Piriform Software Ltd and fully charged Dec, 23rd to my Credit Card account.

Thank you nukecad for being candid and straightforward in your answers, aimed at really clarifying the user.

(Quite differently from the dude that says about the licence codes being equal: "yes... and no" just by calling them "a container". Basic math teaches us that 2 entities, numbers ou whatever equal to a 3rd one are equal between themselves, so?). Same ambiguity from the same source regarding whether CCleaner Pro and Avast Cleaner Premium are so different products, beyond and above marketing make-ups, to be offered independently to paying customers.

I would very much appreciate a "nukecad style" straight answer about this last and most important issue, so cryptically addressed up to now..

It' s unfortunate that these two companies that I learned to appreciate as a long time customer now feel free to change methods and policies at will, regardless of its consumers and without warning. Some consideration would be a far better marketing than just bundling your proccesses.

Immediately after the initial investigation, Morphisec notified all of its customers and reported its findings to Avast to help the company identify the issue. An updated version of CCleaner 5.34 - which was released at September 12, 2017 - did not include any malicious code. 75035a25d1
