Figure emblématique du 19/20 le week-end sur France 3, Catherine Matausch avait disparu du petit écran depuis le mois de mars dernier. Interrogée par TV Grandes Chaînes, la journaliste est finalement sortie du silence pour dévoiler la raison de son absence: elle est atteinte d'un cancer.
Présente tous les week-end à l'animation du 19/20 de France 3, Catherine Matausch fait partie du paysage audiovisuel français depuis plus de 30 ans. Mais depuis le mois de mars 2022 , la journaliste a quitté l'antenne sans raison officielle. Lundi 20 juin, dans une interview accordée à TV Grandes Chaînes , la présentatrice du journal est revenue sur sa longue absence due à une terrible maladie. Elle a brisé pour la première fois le silence sur les ennuis de santé qu'elle a dû affronter ces derniers mois .
" La vie a été compliquée depuis un an et demi. J'ai enchaîné plusieurs arrêts maladies à cause, entre autres, d'un cancer du poumon ", a-t-elle annoncé. Malgré la gravité de la maladie, la journaliste se veut rassurante. " Je vais bien. Je vais mieux ", a-t-elle confié. Victime de la même maladie que son défunt confrère Jean-Pierre Pernaut, décédé le 3 mars 2022, Catherine Matausch souhaite avant tout alerter sur la maladie. " C'est bien d'en parler, comme il l'a fait. J'en parle ici pour la première fois . Dans mon cas, heureusement, la maladie n'en est pas au même stade et a été traitée à temps ", a-t-elle précisé. Un témoignage poignant.
Ces derniers mois n'ont pas été faciles pour la journaliste de France 3 qui a dû surmonter une autre épreuve: le décès de sa mère en 2021. "J'ai dû faire face aussi à son décès. J'ai traversé des moments de grande solitude. Une vie immobile. Cela n'a pas été drôle pour moi, qui ait besoin de nature et de vagabondages ", a-t-elle confié. Malgré ces difficultés, Catherine Matausch ne compte pas baisser les bras. La journaliste sera de retour aux manettes du 10/20 le week-end sur France 3 dès le mois de septembre.
