Just like the old days when we used to get excited for strapping on our light up shoes, packing our spiderman lunch box, and trekking out to the bus stop to have mom snap a few pictures before our first day of school, FANSHOES is once again excited for a new school year to start!
FANSHOES is rolling out a bunch of new products this fall and is also pumped to announce that we have 10 awesome students representing the brand on campuses across the country. These reps are going to be bringing some "sole" to campus and will be hooking students up with free swag, discounts, and some tips to get you ready to cheer on your school's squad.
Please stay tuned to our site for more info on our Campus Reps and to view their profiles, which will be released when we release our new website in the next week or so! Also keep an eye out for our new mobile site that was created by our very own Marcus Recck. He has been working very hard these past few weeks as he is stepping into his new role of CTO.
As exciting as the end of summer is, it has been a bit bittersweet. We have had to say goodbye to a number of awesome FANSHOES employees as they return to school or pursue other endeavors like joining the Peace Corps in Rwanda. Pretty cool, right? Good luck to Lyla, Rebecca, Ivy, Matt, and Tyler and thank you for all your hard work!

Okay so when I was doing the screengrabs of Close Encounters I fucked something up? And none of them saved. So of course I was like PROJECT ABANDONED because that’s just how my brain works.
But great news, I’m feeling it again so give me two weeks or maybe two months?? and I ASSURE you I will get one maybe TWO outfits posted.

The movie that started it all! i don’t remember when or where or why I decided to re-watch Close Encounters, but I did. And while I was watching it, I caught sight of a great outfit worn by Teri Garr - yellow short nightgown, covered with a matching short bathrobe and then, the cherry on top, white clogs. I was stunned by this great look! But I’m pretty sure it wasn’t meant to be a “look” it was just how a young mom would dress in 1977. And I got to thinking, what other great, casual looks are out there that I’m missing? And thus, Casual Movie Fashion was born. I have not done a good job of keeping up with it because that’s just how I am, plus it’s a pain to scrub through movies and screengrab shots that look good and then like edit them and stuff. And unfortunately I’ve done other movies that just didn’t make it here. But I wanted to get my thoughts straight on this one so here I am.

So, girls, what are you thinking about when you go on a night out with your friends? Are you thinking about how much fun you will have with your friends? or how you’ll get with that guy you’ve had your eyes on for ages? Or about how much you’ll spend that night and if you should budget so you don’t over-spend? But I bet I know one thing you are thinking “I’m cold”.
I have seen so many girls on a night out in little miniskirts up to their butt and crop tops that show off everything but their nipples. But the problem is it’s not going to be warm in the middle of the night unless you live in America or the Bahamas and I live in Cardiff which isn’t warm (most of the time).
The point I’m trying to make girls is you don’t need to be wearing something that would make your mother cry, you can look sexy without showing everything. You could wear a form fitting pencil skirt with a flowy V-neck crop top, so you will still be showing skin but will look sophisticated and sexy instead of slutty and desperate.
What colour would you say suits you the most? 💜
