Anezaki Satoru had a precious childhood friend, Ichinose Yuna, who was killed by a gang of rapists. Blinded by rage and thirst for revenge, Satoru gruesomely murdered 15 rapists and cut off their genitals, for which he was sentenced to capital punishment. After his death, Satoru regains consciousness in another world where all men have become mindless beasts. Finding himself lost in this world, he meets some of the struggling survivors fighting the hordes of beasts. What he learns is shocking... Yuna is apparently still alive in this world! Satoru chooses to join the fight in order to find his precious friend.

However, their unlikely reunion is shattered with the advent of a powerful earthquake that decimates Tokyo. Now, in order to survive, the two travel together through the ruins, death and carnage, encountering tragedy and hardships at every turn.
The zombie apocalypse has never been more surreal! A mentally unhinged manga artist witnesses the beginning of a zombie outbreak in Tokyo, and he's certain of only two things: he's destined to be the city's hero, and he possesses something very rare in Japan--an actual firearm!
Recently the number of attempted suicides have increased dramatically, straining the health care system. To combat this problem, those who try to take their life are placed on a special island where they must live out their days, while the rest of the world believes them to be dead. Some respond by immediately committing suicide while others decide to try to live; but with no supplies doing so will be difficult. Now, this group of strangers must work together to survive on Suicide Island, or die trying.
When the infected approached Rei and Takashi's school, it led to a gruesome blood bath that left the majority of students and staff dead or turned into the zombie-like monsters that have spread throughout the world. Together with a handful of other survivors, Rei and Takashi set forth to find their families in a world that is rapidly detoriating. Governments have collapsed, the killer disease is out of control, and people everywhere are trying their best to simply live through each day...
On a day like any other day, Shou, his classmates and the entire elementary school were mysteriously transported to a barren wasteland filled with terror. There's no food or water, nothing in sight but an endless desert in all directions, and both the students and teachers are so terrified that they are rioting, murdering, and falling victim to their fears. With no idea of how they got there or how they'll survive, these students must work together and set forth into the unknown to discover the truth of their circumstances.
As the zombie apocalypse begins in Osaka, chaos descends on the city. Kozue and her friend Yuuko arrive on a flight to Shin Kansai International Airport, only to discover the facility is overrun with the dead and they can't leave the aircraft. Meanwhile, Kozue's lover Tatsuo is in the midst of the carnage downtown. Will the two manage to reunite, let alone survive through the night?
During an uneventful bullet train ride, a catastrophic event occurs and buries the train and its passengers alive in a collapsed tunnel. Bloodied and broken bodies are strewn everywhere, and only three students aboard survive: Teru, Nobuo and Ako. While Teru and Ako are focused on trying to find a way out, Nobuo descends into the depths of madness, pitting the strangers against each other. With no news of what's taken place to cause this accident, Teru, Ako and Nobuo must fight to survive. However, even if they are to escape, what waits for them outside is unknown and terrifying...

I'm looking for a manga/anime/book/movie/drama where the main character (or one of the main characters) is a eunuch/castrato. That's right. A castrated guy. The reasons for his castration do not matter - they could be social, political, criminal or, heck, even economic. (Like, um... A poor kid in Baroque Italy has a great voice, but has only one chance at a decent life, and that's to become a castrato... So he opts for it, and ends up with wealth and fame beyond compare.) Examples: Scarlet Palace (manga), Ai no Kusabi (graphic novel and anime), The Persian Boy (novel), Cry to Heaven (novel), The Alteration (novel), Egyptian (a series of novels by Wilbur Smith), The Janissary Tree and sequels (a series of novels) and The Bells (yet another novel). Please note that minor characters are not accepted. The eunuch/castrato must be at least one of the top 5 characters and must get significant 'screen-time'. Additionally, the portrayal of the eunuch/castrato must NOT be caricatured or stereotypical; there must be some character depth and an exploration of said character's internal workings. So no conveniently villainish eunuchs that act like cardboard cutouts... You get the idea. Any genre except hentai is welcome. Please recommend!

This is soo hard.. Admit defeat. Never read any manga like this. I remember the movie One Night with The King , if i'm not mistaken (it's been a long time ago since i watched this movie).. the female character/Esther has an old friend (male), that brought to the palace. They met again. He asked her to leave the palace with him. And this male, i'm not really sure, may be he's already been castrated. But there was also her servant (the bald one), i'm sure he's eunuch. And he always helped her a lot. **Add: Arrgh, i just remember i read one.. one manga like this but i dropped it. Now, it would bother me all night long. I don't think i put it in my lists. About a talented musician/singer, may be a foster child (i forget), european ambience, he was 'cut' to keep his voice beautiful.. and all ladies admired his voice. Yue Buqun (岳不群) – the leader of the sect. He is an expert in using the "Violet Mist Divine Skill" (紫霞神功). You could try the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. Sazed is an eunuch if I recall correctly, and although his role is rather small in the first book, he goes on to play a significant role in the later books. And it's just an awesome series in general.

YAY The only one I've read is S to M no Sekai . There's a certain beautiful swordfighter who is a castrato. I'm pretty sure he's a fairly major character, although it's been a while.

I am SO, SO, SO, SO SO SO SO SO SO SO happy. I had NO idea there were these many stories about eunuchs/castrati! And there are some here that I'd forgotten about! (Can't believe I forgot!) Omg, I've got so much reading to do. I'm damn well looking forward to it. (Even if the poor eunuchs are not! Hur hur...)
