If you think the Fifty Shades franchise deserves all the credit for making BDSM mainstream, think again. Some of Hollywood's biggest stars have been tackling roles with onscreen BDSM for years. Here are 14 movies and TV shows that invited A-list actors to explore their own shades of grey/gray.
Of course we have to include it. Johnson and Dornan star in the film adaptation of the Fifty Shades trilogy, meaning they've engaged in lots of BDSM on screen.
Often heralded as one of the best BDSM films of all time, 2002's Secretary follows the relationship of a dominant boss and his submissive secretary. Coincidentally, the boss, played by Spader, is named Grey.
The movie focuses on the affair between psychologist Carl Jung and Sabina Spielrein, who was initially a patient of Jung's and later became a physician herself (not to mention one of the first female psychoanalysts). The pair explore their sexual impulses, including bondage and spanking.
The infamous leg-crossing scene gets all of the attention, but Stone's character Catherine Tramell is also very into bondage.
This steamy '80s movie follows the dominant/submissive relationship between Mickey Rourke's John Gray (yes, another Mr. Gray) and Kim Basinger's Elizabeth McGraw.

On Showtime's Billions , Paul Giamatti stars as Chuck Rhoades Jr., the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, who enjoys a private BDSM relationship as his wife's (played by Maggie Siff) submissive.
In the second season of Amazon's hit Transparent , Sarah Pfefferman (played by Amy Landecker) begins a BDSM relationship with a dom called Pony.
Doctor Who star Billie Piper's turn as a dominatrix in ITV2's Secret Diary of A Call Girl is iconic.
In 2000's The Cell , Jennifer Lopez is bound by Pan in a trippy twist on BDSM.
Liv Tyler donned a tight PVC costume for her BDSM scene in the comedy, One Night at McCool's .
Gretchen Mol starred as pin-up girl Bettie Page in this biopic that also delved into her work posing for bondage shoots.
In a guest role on House , John Cho played a man who turns out to be the submissive in a dom-sub relationship with a dominatrix. It's a medical drama, so there aren't a lot of sexy scenes, but it does show how dom-sub relationships manifest outside of the bedroom.Â
Netflix's series Bonding was all about the life of a dominatrix-by-night/grad-student-by-day (Zoe Levin) and her friend/assistant (Brendan Scannell).Â

Adara Jordan is in a pink 1.5 SS and she blames you. She fell off the roof when she was helping you put up Christmas lights this winter and she thinks you pushed her off on purpose! She also accuses you of being embaressed of her in her huge new cast so sheâs demanding that you take her out in public to prove that youâre proud to be seen with her⊠on Black Friday, the busiest day of the year! First youâre at the mall and she wants to confirm that youâre not embaressed of her, so she heads right into the busiest store, interacting with employees and making a purchase. Next, youâre at the department store and she really wants to make you pay, so she asks an employee to get the most expensive TV. Then, she makes you write âI love my girlfriendâ and a big red heart on her cast at the front of the store, in front of everyone! After that, she makes you take her to the adult store to pick out a sex toy that she can use while sheâs in this cast! Then, itâs off to another department store where she picks out some new Nikes for you to buy for her. After that, the two of you stop at a restaurant for dinner. She asks you to draw something sweet on her cast, but instead you draw nipples. She takes you around the grocery store so everyone can see what you did to her cast. This is some of the craziest footage yet, so donât miss it!
I n this 46 minute clip, Ellenâs in an LLC with an extreme bend at the knee and pointed toe. Her leg is sore and she tries for several minutes to get comfortable on the couch. Then she realizes that she cannot find her crutches and sheâs also hungry and thirsty, so she scoots and crawls to the kitchen to get herself some refreshments. Afterwards, she crawls to the nearest chair when a guy sheâs been talking to calls her. He wants to come over and she excitedly agrees. She doesnât want to be in her panties when the guy comes over so now sheâs got to crawl and scoot up the stairs and get dressed. Upstairs, she puts on a skirt and makes her way back down the steps. Her guy friend calls back and when she mentions her cast, he changes his mind about coming over. Next, Ellen starts looking for her toy when she finds her crutches in the closet. As soon as she starts to crutch, she has a fall! Now Ellenâs other leg is casted in a white LLC exactly like her first one. She struggles to get comfortable on the couch for a while, then crawls to the kitchen on her casts to get something to eat and drink. Afterwards she climbs into her chair and tries to get her guy friend to come over. He doesnât feel comfortable âhaving funâ with her while sheâs got her newly broken legs so she decides sheâs going to have to take care of herself. She makes the long trip up the stairs and tries to climb into her bed.
In this epic hour-plus long clip, Jessica falls off a stool, breaking her arm in multiple places. She then has to deal with her new shoulder spica and neck brace after refusing surgery. You (the camera) come to visit her periodically as she catches you up her situation and how sheâs dealing with it. When youâre not there, the camera observes her as she does her daily routines, trying to cope with her cast at home at different points in time. You talk to her the first day, two weeks later and then a month after that⊠and at the six week mark, her cast is very worn looking and sheâs in good spirits. She also has an itch that sheâd like you to help her scratch. The morning after, she wants you to take her out in public so you go for a walk in the park, the mall and grab some coffee. Finally, Jessica gets to have her big SS cut down to an LAC and sheâs very happy about that.

I n this first part of a three part series, youâre Jessicaâs boyfriend and you find out that she sprained her ankle at work on the stairs. A friend at work drops her off with her ankle wrapped and still wearing a heel. You get her set up on the couch and rub her good foot as she tells you all about what happened and that sheâs very hopeful that itâs just a sprain. Three days later, you take her to her doctorâs appointment where the doctor suspects a fracture and sends her home in a boot. Back at home, she catches you up on what the doctor said. Sheâs a little disappointed, but relieved that itâs not a cast. Later, Jessica gets a call from the doctor and finds out that she has three fractures and will need a cast. As sheâs relating the information to you, you find out for the first time that she had an arm cast when she was 18. Next, you see a glimpse of her SLC as she returns home. Jessica does some great acting in this clip and stay tuned for super hot scenes in the next clip!
T his shoot may go down as the best DSS video Iâve made since Kimâs Black DSS from the early 2000âs. It was a crazy day as Adara was totally spontaneous and wanted to do everything. The full story clip will be on Clips4Sale later, but this Part 1 is just the public footage (the public footage will be available on Joeâs Clips), which Adara insisted we do. She also insisted on trying to drive in her DSS! I did convince her to let me drive though. I didnât have my action cam, so I had to film with a large camera in stores, making for some great looking footage. Adara was fearless about doing anything in her DSS (wish I would have known that in the past). On top of that, sheâs looking better than ever⊠totally gorgeous. So, enjoy this public footage of Adara at the drug store, restaraunt, and grocery store.

Next, Victoria is telling us how the conversation with the doctorâs office went. It turns out that they are not interested in taking it off early, so she has to wait the entire week before having it removed. Sheâs starting to lose her mind and acts a little crazy while telling and showing us just how hard and unbreakable her cast really is.
However, Victoria returns from her appointment in her DSS and is so upset she canât even talk about it. Later, we find her in her bedroom sulking and she tells us what happened. She hadnât healed as fast as they had hoped and so she must continue to wear the DSS for another four weeks. She is devastated.
Weeks later, sheâs your passenger again and the cast is covered in signatures and about ready to come off. This time sheâs happy to see you again and eager to pick up the conversation where it left off. Sheâs not shy about propping her cast up wherever she wants either. Youâre her favorite rideshare driver and so you get invited to follow her inside and sign her cast!
A ngel was surprised when her date asked her out to play mini golf, even though sheâs in an LLC. Itâs a hot day and Angelâs hip and sweaty leg are bothering her, but she still tries to have a good time, especially when theyâre supposed to get ice cream later. So after playing 18 holes in the hot sun, Angelâs date picks her up and carries her to the car like a gentleman. Next, Angel props her cast up and enjoys a cold drink at the coffee shop as she wiggles her toes. Later, she and her date take a stroll through the neighborhood and stop to have some ice cream. Angel puts her cast up on his lap and asks him if heâs like to hang out again sometime⊠and hints that he likes her cast. Once again, he carries her all the way back to the car. Donât miss this action packed public clip!
H ereâs one for the sock lovers out there! Youâre waking up next to Jessica on the day youâre supposed to leave for your vacation. Jessica is supposed to see the ortho first to possibly get her cast changed out for a boot. Sheâs really hoping for this so she can begin weight bearing and get off the crutches on vacation. She knows you love her cast and socks and assures you that youâll still have plenty of sock clad fun on vacation, even if she gets a boot. Cut to later and she returns in her SLC. The doctor doesnât think itâs quite ready yet so youâll be going on vacation with a casted Jessica Lynn. On the couch, she gives you a nice show of her sock covered toes and takes them off for a moment before putting them back on. She realizes the upsides of her keeping her cast on vacation and asks for your assistance with packing. Upstairs, sheâs going through her sock drawer, asking for your input on what socks to bring. Then, on the bed, she helps narrow it down by modeling each pair, one at a time, right on your lap, being a huge tease. Finally, she has you put her puma athletic socks back over her casted toes. On the way out the door, she tells you that she canât wait to wrap her socks around you at the hotel!
N ote: This clip contains parts one and two as seen on CF in one massive clip. Itâs Adinaâs first trip out in public with a cast! Sheâs in a white LLC and our first stop is the arcade. She crutches around, having fun and playing some games, standing and sitting with her leg proppped up. After that, sheâs hungry so we head to the grocery store where her partner pushes her around in a wheelchair as she shops for snacks. When she gets to a section sheâs interested in, she gets up and crutches. Next, we head out to the mall for lots of crutching. By this time, sheâs starting to get a little tired so she takes a break
